I am guessing this is not normal since my husband is not like that. Painful headache in back of head? Lately, and every now and then, I get a pretty painful headache in the back of my head/neck area, on my right side. Now for some reason, for many years now, the muscle on the right side of my neck is bad, or a weak muscle. Alot of the time it feels tight and I have to stretch it as much as I can. Anyway, my question here is can these headaches be caused because of the tight muscle on my neck? I also should note that the pain from the headache slightly increases when I turn my head/neck, if that helps for anything.

She is alert and does not show any signs of poor coordination or speech problems. Will call the NHS Direct and see what they say.

Back of my head headache?? Ok, so I get these headaches sometimes like in the back of my head (not behind my ears where the sinus cavity is, I know what that pain is like, I get sinus infections in the winter... it's sorta above that area). It's not like a normal headache (trust me, I got those ALL the time too and I know what they feel like). But this is like pain in the actual back part of my head. It sometimes hurts when I'm looking downwards for awhile (like to look at a computer when I'm standing up). Could it be somethin about my spine? I've never had back problems (I'm only 20 yrs old)... Any help would be great. I've looked online and can't really find anything. I'm hoping someone knows what I'm talking about and can help! Thanks everyone! P.S. I don't think it's tension headaches... it just happens totally randomly... not when I'm stressed or anything
Almost everytime I get a headache, it's in the back base of my head, top of my neck? How can i make it stop? I'm not one for taking any meds like advil or anything. I like natural things. I rarely get headaches, but when I do, they are usually pretty bad and last all day and night. I tried using an icepack, but that did not seem to work. What is the cause of these headaches in the area I get them? Do you know of any natural cures for it? Home remedies? thank you so much!
Recurring Back of the Head Headache? First off I'm a 23yo healthy male, i work out at least 4 times a week and try to eat right. I started taking these pills(Lipo-6x) to help cut the fat from my body and i got a headache from taking them. Even thought i got the headaches i still continued to take them for about 2 more weeks because they worked so well. After i stopped taking them i was still experiencing headaches. These headaches are located at the back of my head a very rarely move to the front. The pain is not severe either probably a 2-3 out of 10, and kind a a dull/throbbing pain. They usually come mid day or at night, and very rarely its accompanied by nausea. Then I decided to get my eyes examined and i needed a new prescription to correct my eyesight, and sure enough the headaches went away for a couple days, then i decided i would try to take the pills again since i figured it was my eyes causing the headaches but after i took the pill i got a headache again. Now here i am i haven't taken the pills in 3 weeks and my headaches still continue. Any suggestions on what it could be?
Headache pain in back of head- what does that mean? It is always in the same spot- middle of the back of head, near the bottom near the indentation where the neck bone meets with the skull- does that have any significance?
When I wake up, I have this headache on the back of my head that lasts for around 1 hour - what is the reason? I had this pillow which I slept on and that gave me headaches so I changed pillows. However I feel chilled and coold all the time no matter how many blankets i use, then i am so hot that it feels like i am on fire. This last for about a week straight and then goes away for a while but the icepick headaches are constant. My lower back arond my kidneys hurts at the same time as the feavers. I also spit up bloody mucas when I have these fevers. I am a 23 year old male.
I get this sharp stabbing headache right behind my ear on the back of my head whenever gums get sensative? I've experienced this for the past 10 years but never thought much of it until now. I had my wisdom tooth pulled about 10 years ago. On the left side of my mouth where that tooth was pulled, the gums where the tooth used to be get a bit sensative and feels like its a bit swollen about once every 3-6 months. Whenever that happens I get this sharp pain behind my ear on the back of my head for about a day and it goes away and so does the swelling and sensativity on my gums. Does this make any sense? It's been bothering me a bit more lately. Yes I'm going to see a doctor but it's hard to get diagnosed because it comes at random times and I can't see my doctor without an appointment. The gums are ONLY swollen where that wisdom tooth used to be. Any doctors in the house tell me if this is related? Thanks.

what is this headache at the back of my head? had a lumbar puncture on thursday.? i have had this headache since about 2am sunday morning when i got up to feed my baby. it is at the back just behind my left ear and only really hurts if i move suddenly or if i turn my head to the left. yesterday i was also feeling very nauseous but did not actually vomit. last thurday i had a lumbar puncture (well attemted anyway - after 3 attempts i told them i couldnt take anymore as they couldnt get any fluid out) i know lumbar punctures can cause headaches and nausea but am unsure whether it would have been instant or if because i did not have any fluid removed it would not be that. it is like a build up of pressure as i move my head more to the left. i do not get headaches often but when i do they usually go with sleep and this hasnt. i was having the lumbar puncture as a ct scan is only 95% accurate in finding brain bleeds but the doctors were confident that i had recovered from my symptoms quickly enough to rule that out anyway. any ideas anyone? thanks. i havent drank alcahol in about a year so it cant be that. the reason i went to hospital in the first place was because of a pain at the back of my head but it was nothing like this - it came on suddenly and it felt like my head was going to explode and i couldnt stop vomiting. i gave birth to my daughter 10 days ago and it was not a very straightforward labour and i havent really been sleeping and am supposed to be resting but am probably overdoing it if that could be connected. oh and one more thing sometimes it shifts to the left side of my forehead.

i hit my head yesterday. now i have a headache on the otherside of my head. is this weird? i hit my head yesterday on the gooseneck of our horse trailer. i hit it kinda hard but i didn't get dizzy or pass out. i woke up this morning at 5 am with a killer headache but it is the opposite side of where i hit my head yesterday. i took some advil but when i woke up 4 hours later it hadn't really touched the headache at all. i am exhausted today unsure if it was the knock to the head or just being tired from the horse show yesterday. thoughts?

Burning headache on top back of head, and on the left of my ear.? Heya! This morning I noticed a slight burning headache on the top back right side of my head, it kept coming up on and off. It sometimes switches from a burning headache to a regular headache. Then later at night I felt a slight burning on the left of my ear, but it's gone now. I took a tablet of Tylenol about 15 minutes ago, and it's doing fine. I usually stay up late everyday, but I don't think that's the case, because the headache occur today and today only. Hard lump on back of head? A few days ago I got a terrible migraine, it lasted all day, and even after taking aleve it was still there. It made me so nauseous that I ended up throwing up. 2 days later I get another headache and a really bad pain in the back of my head. So I feel it, and there's a lump there. Probably the size of a marble or a little larger, and it's really hard. It feels like pressure against my head, and there's a lot of pain. It's making it difficult to sleep, and do daily things. I'm feeling very fatigued, and I feel as though the headaches are constant. I haven't hit my head recently or anything like that. I'm going to the doctor in a few days, but I just thought I'd ask on here to see if anyone has gone through the same thing and what it ended up being? Or anyone who has some idea of what it could be. I'd really appreciate it.

Horrible pain/headache in the back of my head? Well, I get these awful headaches in the back of my head. Sometimes it's pinpointed, sharp pain that spreads to the front of my head, sometimes it's just on one whole side, but the main pain is on the back of my skull. These ONLY happen after some sort of physical activity, whether it be wrestling, or intimacy. DURING, the action, my head with slowly, or suddenly get one of these headaches. What is happening? Exertion Headaches?
headache in the back of my head? what can be the cause of headache in the back of my head? sometimes it lingers in my neck also.
Headache, back of head? I get headaches (migraines, sinus headaches, etc.) fairly often, but never like this. The back left of my head, sort of straight back from the top of my ear (so higher, not at my neck, and not at the top of my head) throbs and feels like my brain's being squeezed. It gets worse when I turn my head to the right (but not the left)- and again, squeezing kind of pain, doesn't shoot down my neck or anything so it doesn't seem like it's muscular. I've been getting it on and off for a couple of weeks. I've also fainted twice in the last 3 weeks (possibly unrelated, but as of yet also undiagnosed, so maybe relevant), and been dizzy and lightheaded numerous other times. This is often accompanied by my heart racing. Few random other details, because I don't know what may or may not matter: I've had a bit of a runny nose on and off- no congestion, just runny nose, which is unusual for me. No sinus pressure or pain in the front of my head, though. I'm a 22 year old female, 5'5" and 122lbs, in otherwise good condition, on birth control. I am a college student, which does come with a certain amount of stress, but I haven't felt any more or less so than normal, so I'm not inclined to think it's a tension headache. Does anyone have any thoughts?
Headache in Back of head/upper neck? The past few days I've been experiencing headaches in the back of my head or upper neck area. Not sure why..... Any ideas?
Headache in back of head when I sleep on my back? I have made an appointment with my doctor to discuss this but he can not see me for a couple of weeks so I wanted to see if anyone has had similar issues and if so, what it may be. I have recently been getting headaches more often, usually on the right side of my head. It feels like a sharp pain and usually happens at some point throughout the day. I have only mentioned the above in case it is related somewhat to the following. I rarely sleep on my back, but when I do, I ALWAYS wake up and have a headache in the back of my head. It hurts a lot when I go to move my head, usually it goes away after a couple of minutes when I turn onto my stomach to go back to sleep. Any clue as what this may be? I appreciate any help. Thank you
Headache In Back of Head, Brain Tumor? or Tension? I started noticing this about 2 weeks ago, it first started and in some cases still remains as an unexplainable to tingly sort of feeling around the bald spot area on the center of the head. But recently I noticed I've been getting these weird sort of tightening/heaviness feeling in the back of the head while the tingly feeling still remains. And I have felt as if I haven't been getting the amount of sleep I usually get, and I've been tired and the headache persisted, and sorta feels like it goes down to my neck area, now I'm a really paranoid person and when something happens to me I automatically assume it's the worst case. And I've had these bad thoughts about "what if I die, what if this what if that" And I am assuming that some of the pain is generated from my negative thoughts. I asked my mom and she said it's stress and not eating healthy. I also went to my doc when I was sick, this was when the pain wasn't as bad, and when I told him, it felt as if he just blew the question off and said all these soar throats and headaches I'm feeling are from allergies. But for some reason I don't trust him. So I wanted to see what you guys have to think. So if you can please help me out and give your opinions as best you can, thanks!

sudden severe headache in back of head...help? i haven't found anything describing what i had s I'll ask here. a few days ago I had a mild tension start in my neck, not even annoying. w/in 5 miinutes it had gone to the back of my head around the bottom of my skull. I vomited then just curled up holding the back of my head for a while. the pain was sudden and immense pressure. it covered the entire back half of my head. pains eased considerablyafter about 30 minutes, but i've been lighthead and feel pressure in my head since. i'll go for CT scan tomorrow, but does anybody have any ideas i can research. all i've figured out is that it was not a migraine. i porobably should of gone to a doc immediatly but i was on vacation at the time. everything i've read mentions throbbing and pain near temples and on 1 side, so i'm stumped. I'm asking more if anyone has ideas I can research till I get my test results or if anyone has had the same experience. I went to the doc. he gave me a scipt for a CT scanand said it was okay to go tomorrow morning so does that suggest it's not an aneurysm? I mean, wouldnt he say go now if he thought it was? I have no idea what the procedure or protocall is for that possible suspected diagnosis. anyone know?
Sudden headache in back of head? what is it? How can I get rid of it?
Huge headache in back of head... help? I have this headache an inch behind the tip of my right ear. It's been there for a day now and I don't know how to explain it. It's not a continuous pain. It's like a sharp pain lasting for a second and it occurs every few minutes. If I press down where the headache is, it hurts slightly. Is this normal? Cause I really have no idea... What should I do? Nevermind! I went on google and typed in the symptoms and found that it's called ice pick headaches. Just incase anyone wants to know, I'm gunna leave the question up ok? ^^ Thanks for those who answered though!
headache in the back of head for 3 days? ive had a mild headache in the back of my head for 3 days and its getting worse but not too bad during the day and ive had blurred vision once . what could this be
Headache in the back of my head, is this a bad thing? I have been sick all week and have a headache in the back of my head. It's a lot of pain and I am very dizzy when I get up. What I am sick with seems to be a cold but I have never had a headache like this with a cold before. I know most people who will answer this are not doctors, but I just want to know if this could be something serious.
Severe headaches, back of head...never go away? I have had severe headaches in the back of my head since March 2nd. They are not considered migraines by doctors. I have seen an immunologist, 2 neurologists, an allergist, a rheumatologist a chiropractor, plenty of ER doctors, an optometrist, and opthalmologist, a neurosurgeon and countless other doctors. Pain medications like Vicodin and codeine do not affect it. I have had a CT scan and 2 MRIs, all of which were normal (I have considered Chiari malformation, but my MRI/radiation tech doesn't see it in my film. I have had many blood tests, all returning normal(negative). I wore a neckbrace and took muscle relaxants for a week on the demand on my neurosurgeon. I have also had an angiogram to rule out artery damage. My mom wants be to try Botox injections, but they aren't proven so I'm not sure. Any suggestions for help?
Bad headache in the back of head and temples? A few months ago i got this really bad headache in the back of my head and temples. It lasted for about a week and finally went away after a few visits to a physical therapist, who told me my posture was bad and there was a lot of tension in my shoulders and neck area. Since then I've been getting headaches like the one I had, but they only last for a few hours or a day at the most. No pain medication helps me, and I've tried everything. Now I have one of my headaches but it's worse than usual. I tried tylenol, advil, motrin... basically everything. I have excedrin tension headache medication but it never seems to work. I don't know how long this one will last. How can I get it to go away?
Headache in the back of head? This morning at the start of pt we took off on our run at a dead sprint. About 300 yards later they had us do 50 elevated pushups. So I put my feet over the wall and began. At 35 I began to feel funny. At 40 i got a bit dizzy and at 45 I had to stop because it felt like the back of my brain was going to blow out of my head. It got somewhat better as the day went on but here I am 10 hours later and I can still feel a dull throbbing pain in the back of my head. What gives?
I am having VERY painful headaches in back of head when doing strenuos activity? Lower back of head headaches? I have been getting these headaches in the back of my head lower part of head and neck is killing me and back pains and headache in the front of my head above the eyebrowns and temples it this all related to the sinus headache or something else?
Headache in the back of my head, with some neck discomfort.? For the past week or so I have been experience a pain in the back of my head sometimes on the right side. It also causes some neck pain. I believed it to be a tension headache but the medicine I took wasn't helping. I decided to try sinus medicine since I do have bad sinuses and the weather has been changing and that seems to work but the headache comes back. It usually comes towards the middle of the day and varies from a dull pain to a stabbing pain when I move my head or neck around. Could this be sinus related even if it is in the back of my head? It is very agitating and I am experiencing a little congestion and my ears have been popping. Please help! Thank you in advance.
bad headache in base of neck/back of head? For the last, I'd say, 3-4 days I've been getting a sharp pain/headache in the base of my neck/low back of my head and it hurts really bad. What kind of headache or what could this be. I've also been getting wierd headaches in the front of my head, towards the left side. Is both of these put together a continuous migraine or what.
Weird headache in the lower back of head? I have been getting a very dull headache in the lower back of my head. The best way to describe it is that its similar to someone holding onto your arm(or any other body part): it doesn't actually hurt, but you can feel it. it seems to be right above my neck where my head starts. Sort of a numbness feeling, and it seems like it has to do maybe with my spine. I do drink a lot on weekends (Its not a hangover headache), could overall general drinking and "blacking out" be causing this? it seems to come later the next day, even into the day after that. I am getting concerned, cause like most people, I'm assuming for the worst, such as a tumor or such. Also could my wisdom teeth be causing this? I haven't gotten them removed, which was supposed to be over the summer. I have been delaying the removal, for various reasons. Anyone have any answers for this? What action I should take (Besides seeing a doctor)
Pain in back of head? Lately, I've been getting these weird pains in the back of my head. Sometimes, if it gets really bad, it spreads through my entire head, and it feels like a normal headache. The weird thing is that when I'm running (track practice) or just moving or doing anything that requires me to be standing or something, the pain is completely gone. However, when I'm sitting still, like when I'm in school or doing homework, the pain comes back, dull at first, and eventually it starts pulsing and hurting quite a bit. Also, when I wake up from a short nap or something, I have a huge headache, similar to what it feels like when I sit around doing nothing for a long time. I've looked some things up, and I'm pretty sure I don't have a brain tumor or a brain aneurysm, and I really doubt that I'm having migraines. But who knows. I only know what google tells me. Anyone have any idea what this is, and would it be big enough of a deal for me to see my doctor ASAP?
I get extreme headache in the back of my head every time i stand up, why? if im lying in bed and then stand up this happens and i also sometimes feel Daisy and stop seeing for a few sec. if i have been sitting/lying for a while and then stand up. help, im afraid to stand up and move around becouse then my head hurts so much. I also vomited yesterday. is this something serious?
Headache in the back of my head? I never really have headaches ever but just today i got one and i was like okay i have a headache, but i never really felt what a head ache was because i rarely never get them. I dont know if its normal or not but its like in the left side of the back of my head, and theres this little bump thats always been there but i have no idea what it actually is. Im jsut wondering what that bump is and if a head ache is normal in the bakc of the head. Thanks
Headache/Pressure: Back/Lower back of head? About 4 weeks ago I woke up with this headache which I can actually describes as something between a headache and the sensation of pressure. The location of the pain is at the back of my head and feels as if it stops just where the neck starts. During the day I can feel it just simmering but it isn't really so that I would drink a painkiller. The brunt of this headache happens during the night when I sleep. It seems to develop faster when I lie on my right side and when I turn to the left it seems to resides (going to sleep). During sleep it wakes me up and I feel horrible with pressure/pain. As soon as I wake more and sit/stand the headache seems to go away after a few minutes (not completely but just simmering again). I can bend over, push pull etc and I don't get the pressure feeling in my head. My coordination and all other things seems very normal. Drinking painkillers during the day wouldn't take the simmer away completely it would just suppress it a bit more. My neck do feels a bit stiff the last few weeks. The bad headache that awakes me up doesn't happen every night so there isn't a real pattern to it. The only thing I might have is a little elevated blood pressure and iron deficiency which I am being treated for. Many Thanks Forgot to mention: Both my forearems seems to die (sleep) during the night. This rarely happened in the past. Both ears also seems to "ring/high pitch" more than before.
sometimes when i start running, i get a pulsing headache in the back of my head? It's really annoying, but is it bad? What causes it, cuz it only happens about a third of the time?
headache in the back of the head? ive had this strange ache in the back of head (around the cowlick area) for about 3-4 days now. ive experienced this before, but they usually goes away as the day progresses. its seems to only be noticeable if i tilt or shake my head, and its a throbbing pain similar to someone poking at a bruised area. i dont recall bumping my head and its not allergies or sinuses. i havnt drank alcohol for a while and its not due to physical exertion. according to this website : http://www.headaches.org/press/NHF_Press_Kits/Press_Kits_-_The_Complete_Headache_Chart arthritis headache seems to have the closest symptom, but im not entirely satisfied/convinced thats the cause. i usually get 5 hours of sleep a night (and then nap in the day) so could this be stress related? should i be worried? is there anything i should do in particular?
What is that pain at the back of my head....tension headache? My head would ''crack'' like knuckles at times? The pain is reduced by pressing and massaging on it. Sometimes, there would be cracking sounds (like how fingers are cracked) around the inside of the skull area. Mind you, I am not a knuckle-head...hahaha...just in case, someone tries to be smart, hmphhh!!!
headache located back leftside of my head? so i like playing video games and the other day i noticed that i was getting a headache in the back left side of my head, and whenever i play i keep getting them, and also when i go on my computer does anyone have any clues to what this could be?
I woke up with a severe headache, Especially in the back of the head, my hands, fingers and arms were weak and? tingly. (This happened Sunday night...at 8pm) By Monday I could no longer take the pain so went to the ER....they started testing me for meningitis, They did a spinal, it showed blood so they said I have blood leakin from the brain, they rushed me by ambulance to a hosp. with brain specialist/surgeon...They did another spinal...still showed blood, so they did a cat scan-showed nothing-did another one-showed nothing-did a ctv (advanced cat scan-still showed nothing, They did an MRI of my neck and head--NOTHING again...They've done tons of blood work...NOTHING...I'm a 34 yr old male whos had diabetes for 19 yrs now, However when I looked up neuropathy, theres a buncha diff, kinds and I don't have the symtoms...so what in the world could it be? This is getting soo frustrating! I have a job, a fiance, school, and I work full time as a supervisor of a casino. Can any doctor or something shed some light? This is costing a lot of money for my fiance in gas, tolls, childcare, food etc (Written by his Fiance) because hes under heavy sedation and in EXtreme pain as IN A LEVEL 10!!

I have a headache on the back for 1 week? I don't know whats going on in my head but, it's been one week having this headache on the back of my head.
Sharp pain in the back of my head :(? Since I woke up yesterday I've been having this extreme sharp pain on the left side of my head at the back (on the occipital lobe). I can't bend my head to the left at all, maybe an inch before I can't anymore. Forwards or to the right isn't as bad but still painful. After a bit of pain trying to move then pain kind of lingers like a headache :S My boyfriend said I probably just slept funny but its still bad today. I've searched google but can't find anything helpful, if it's still bad in a week I'll go doctors, but any kinda help would be nice? :) thanks for the help so far :) the pains not in my neck and is only when i bend my head to the sides or forward, its only on the left side and doesnt hurt when its touched. squeesing and rubbing it doesnt help because the pain feels a lot deeper than that.
neck pain minor headache in the back of head... brain tumor? please read!? Neck pain minor headache in the back of head... brain tumor? please read!? For a couple of years, I've had a really bad neck. I previously went to the doctors in Jan and they told me to go to a PT to stretch it out. I did and did the excercise they gave me. However I did not do them that often like they told me too. A couple of weeks ago I found out that ONLY when i turned my head to the left and back forward to the front, I could here a little crack or pop in my neck (cervical spine area)... Ever since then my neck/shoulder area kinda has been really bad even after I stretch. I can never sit in place for more than a minute because of my neck. Another things that has recently appeared was that this pain was kind of getting worse.. Not only can i keep my neck still when watching a movie or sitting down, but I did not sleep very well (lack of sleep).. In the morning i constantly would have stiff neck and minor headaches. Sometimes these symptoms would go away if i do somethign that gets my mind off of it. I have full range of motion its just that left side of the neck/shoulder isnt going away. I've taken a muscle relaxant and advil but dont want to be dependent on it.... I have read that neck pains may cause a brain tumor? I am worried? do i have it?
Liquid trickling feeling in the back of my head? I have had this a few times in the past few days. I will just be going about my daily routine and I will get this feeling like liquid is trickling down the back of my head (on the inside). Well, I thought it was just a weird headache because I have a had a sinus infection for a couple weeks now with a lot of drainage from my nose and ears. Today I got that feeling again and then suddenly everything went black and i passed out. I went to the ER, but they just said they couldn't find anything and sent me home. Anyone have any idea what this could be?

Headache in back of head when I hit chin, I am 13 years old? So I was hitting my chin for no reason and I get a headache whenever I do it, I've heard it could be a brain tumor. Does this happen to anyone else, will I die?
Headache in back of head, upper neck? It's not so much pain as it is pressure. It's just not comfortable. It is managed pretty well when I just rest my head on a pillow or something. What could cause this? I get them from time to time. The only other constant symptoms I can think of going along with this are lightheaded when I stand up, and general fatigue.
Does anyone know what might be the pain in the right side of my head? The pain is almost in the middle back of my head but slightly to the right about an inch away but its a weird pain not a headache but when it hurts i just press it and move my scalp around hoping it'll go away im only 17 so im not sure what it might be.
Headache in back of head?!?!?!? For the past few days I have felt pain in the back of my head/neck area (a lot of pressure back there) and now I have a numbness in my right leg too. Why am I getting sudden pains in the back of my head and sudden bouts of lightheaded-ness? I have recently been having problems focusing/ and comprehending things in school. I feel really out of it and i get sudden bouts of lightneadedness. I am also getting weird shooting pains in the back of my head, along with slight headaches and a slight feeling of pressure on the top, rear portion of my skull. I also experience a bit of ear pain. All of the pain i have mentioned before is not intense. I think i may have suffered an inner ear/sinus injury while scuba diving. When i cam home from diving i was a bit dizzy, but the dizziness got worse the next day, and i felt nauseous and lightheaded. I also began to experience a slight pain in my heart. Those issues have since mostly alleviated themselves and i am left with my head problems and a slight pain in my chest once every few days. it has been around 2 weeks since my dive. Are my current problems because of an inner ear/sinus injury? PLEASE HELP!!!
Do you ever feel like something is moving in the back top part of your head when walking? Accompanied by sensitivity to light, sometimes nausea, headache, sinus pressure (this last one might be a separate symptom that I have)
yelling and pushing going to the bathroom make headache in the back of my head worse? if I do have a tension headach, pain in the back of head and ears, what if yelling made it worse? is that a symptom or should i be worried?
what do I have, sore throat/fever/tired for 48 hours clear sinuses, and headache in back of head for 5 weeks.? I have a sore scratchy throat where my voice box is, like it is lower than where my sore throats usually are. I have a fever, and sleeping all day. I've had a headache in the back of my head with pressure and pain in neck for the past 5 weeks, so I'm doubting my head hurting in the back now has to do with my current sickness but I'm scared I've had the sore throat not feeling well for exactly 48 hours. the back of my head has been hurting for 5 weeks. sinuses are as clear as the air, more clear actually. I'm so so scared i have meningitis. it's late at night so I can't go to the doctor right now. i need some reassurence oh also I HAVE NO RUNNY NOSE, ACTUALLY MY SINUSES ARE MORE CLEAR THAN USUAL?

Sore back of head, sore ear + jaw - What is this? Since march 31 i've been having this pounding headache feeling in the back of my right side of my head and just now the ear on the same side (right) is hurting inside/out and it's also red...my other ear is fine no pain or redness. I don't know if this also has anything to do with it but for awhile now (more than a week) whenever i open my mouth too wide (like when i eat for instance) it hurts like heck...again on the same side (right) where my head/ear is hurting...i've been taking Tylenol for the pain in the back of my head but it doesn't go away...i am not allowed to take Asprin or Advil because of some medication i am on (i've been on the pills for along time now so it's not a side effect from my pills). What can pain be caused from? thanks.
Severe pounding headache in back of head, nausea, 84.6 temperature. Onset of headache: 3AM? Recurring headaches, not often, but usually at least one per month, has been a life-long problem, but this was the coldest I have ever felt, which is why I took my temperature using a temporal scanner. I always take at least 3 readings. I the temperature reading was from around 6AM. I have seen a doctor about the headaches, and have had some testing done, but not while the headache was present. I am considering seeing a Neurologist, but I do not wish to was the doc's time, especially as there are others with more serious problems. I returned my temperature to normal with an extended hot shower, before discovering that such a low temperature may have required medical supervision. Normal blood pressure, normal cholesterol. No alcohol or drugs including prescription medications. I have never smoked. I am a little concerned because of the low temperature. How common is this kind of issue? Should I be concerned? Is a Neurologist the approriate specialist for this kind of concern?

I have had a headache in the back of my head for about a week. Aall the symptoms point to a tension headache? I have had a headache in the back of my head for about a week. It goes from the back of the head around the whole head and feels like a tight band around my head. It is continuous. It feels like a tension headache but can they last this long? I don't feel tense. Any response will be greatly appreciated.
Cause of headache at back of head? This last friday, I woke up with a huge headache at the back of my head, on one side. I had occasional stabbing pain in the area, like if someone was hammering in a nail. The area was also particularly sensitive to touch, as in touching the scalp or hair would hurt considerably. The next day, the pain was (almost completely) gone, however today, I got the full pain from 2 days ago (last friday). What can the causes be and is there cause for alarm? Other (possible symptoms) are : I had ear pain friday, when the headache started. My neck is also fairly painful. I also did not hit my head as far as I know.
Headache in back of neck when heartbeat goes fast.? Hey guys! I was bench pressing recently but I wasn't really concentrating and was pushed my head back into the chair. Then I got a wicked headache and it comes everytime I workout do something that'll make my heart beat fast. It's at the back of my head. I think I pinched a nerve. Does that sound about right? Also, if it is, how long should I rest? It's not high blood pressure. I'm 15, pretty fit. I think it's a pinched nerve or I might've sprained some shit.
I had a headache in the back of my head and it has gone away and earlier in class my periforal vision in my? My periforal vision in my left eye was not working all the way. I had some periforal vision to the point were I had to move my head To see problems on the right side. And that's gone away. Sorry to be kind of gross but when I was using the restroom and I "used my muscles" it made the back of my head hurt like a headache. Could it be dehydration
throbbing headache back of head? Ok so basically I was playing hockey at the rink and I wound up for a very powerful shot and let it go, but right after, the back left of my head started throbbing. This was on Saturday, it is now Thursday going on Friday. I am scared to go to the doctor but I don't think its anything serious. It throbs whenever I get blood flowing (i.e. when I get up, when I walk around, etc.) and has a sharp pain when I move my head in certain ways. Could this be a muscle strain, or is it something more serious like AV fistula? I am 15 and male by the way. Forgot to mention that no medication has worked so far, and I've been using the "magic-bag" that you microwave. I've tried ibuprofen, naproxen, acetaminophen, codeine, acetaminophen + codeine, nothing has worked so far.
I have strep throat but I woke up with a stiff neck and a headache at the back of my head. What is this? IT started with a sore right tonsil, I was a bit nauseated but this morning I woke up with a stiff neck and a bit of a headache at the back of my head but it only hurts when I move my head. Is this something serious or is it just from sleeping in a weird position? I also have some antibiotics that I have been taking since yesterday.
what would cause a headache in the back oof your head>? i had many medical tests 5 years ago and nothing was found...i dont' think anything serious could have developed that quickly? anyways...i've been having odd headaches in the back of my head...expecially when i laugh...they are so bad when i laugh that i have to stop what i'm doing. they're only in the back... then, i've been lightheaded a lot lately. i thought it was due to an upcoming 'monthly' but i haven't gotten my monthly in 2 months (but there's NO chance i'm prego) i've always been lightheaded and the doctors 5 years ago chocked it off to anxiety. so it has bugged me off and on, but nothing major until recently. i have been under stress, but even when i'm not under stress i get lightheaded. had a scary incident at work the other day when i just got really tired and felt like i wasn't there and started messing stuff up that i usually do very well in...that worried me. i did just graduate and i know im stressed, but i still worry it could be pointing to a brain tumor or something of the sort. my only symptoms (probably most unrelated) are persistant acid reflux, tiredness, lightheadedness, headaches in back of head, backache. it really worries me about what it could be, but like i said, i had tons of tests 5 years ago. wouldnt' anything serious had been detected then? i dont' see how something as serious as a tumor or cancer would develop in only 5 years after a completely normal test....usually those things take much longer. plus, i have looked all over the internet and i can't find anything about headaches in the back of the head and lightheadedness and tiredness other than pregnancy symptoms, which i couldn't be since i had a monthly after the last time i "did it" and i haven't been gaining tons of weight or anything...3 months into a pregnancy and i SHOULD know if i would be or not, ya know? sigh...it is mainly these headaches and lightheadedness that bother me...is it possible to tell if someone has a tumor through blood tests? mri's are so expensive for my father to pay for and it seems stupid for me to go get one just for symptoms that have lasted only about a month off and on when i'm under stress and it's probably just stress doing it, but i still wonder if it could be the symptoms of a brain tumor or cancer or something. anyone have the same symptoms ever and if so, what were your diagnosis? thanks!
I have a really painful headache in the back of my head? It just started last period (I'm still at school in study hall currently). I was just doing work and I started getting a painful headache, and then, soon my entire head started hurting especially in the back of my head and it won't go away. I've never gotten a headache like this--what could it be?

Headache in back of head? am seeing a doctor tomorrow, but just wondering if anyone else has this type of pain. It is on the left side of my head in the back. It's not really painful, kind of like dull squeezing feeling. Nothing to take pain relief for either. It last for a couple seconds then goes away, then comes back. I've read on the internet about tumors and really scary things, just curious though.

Head shakes, headache in back of back of head, and pressure behind eyes? It's like I get a shiver in my head, and it shakes for less than a second. I get a real bad headache that starts in the back of the head, and will eventually make my entire head hurt. I've got constant pressure behind my eyes, making it hard to look right from left with tons of visual disturbances. I've had this for almost a year now. I've got a spinal tap done yesterday, and due for an MRI tomorrow. What could this be?
Excruciating headache in back of head when masturbating? I was masturbating, and got this pain in the back of my head. Didn't care. Kept on stroking. Then, it started getting worse. All of a sudden, it feels like a knife was jabbed through the back of my head, below my ears. It was excruciating! I stopped masturbating, which for me, is like the second coming of Jesus Christ. I just zipped up my pants and layed on the bed. For 15 whole minutes, I was in hell. It was probably the worst pain I had ever experienced in my life. It was like a striking sensation in the back of my head. It would come every 3 seconds. Those 15 minutes felt like an eternity. I didn't even attempt to masturbate since then, being afraid that I might get this again. What was this??
Fast sharp headache back of the head? I woke up feeling a bit nauseated and chalked it up to hunger. Ate something and felt better but then I started getting small intermittent headaches. They happen for less than 5 seconds behind my head just where the head meets the neck. I took some Tylenol and that took away some of the intensity away. The nausea continued and I finally vomited and felt much better. Since then the pains have been less frequent and less sharp. Could this be an ear infection or flu? I usually get the nausea as part of PMS (sometimes hunger too) and I am due for my period in a few days but I've never gotten those sharp pains.
I have been getting constant headaches/migraines in the back of my head. I need help? For probably the past month and 1/2 I have been getting constant headaches in the back of my head. It's a constant pain that seems to not go away. Advil doesn't seem to work much at all. One thing I have noticed is that alcohol seems to trigger these headaches. Only after a few drinks and I have the same pain (no it's not a hangover). Thought it might be a cluster headache but shouldn't they been in the front of the head? Can anyone help me and tell me what this is? One more thing to add. I seem to get the exact same headache if I either drink or smoke marijuana? The same for both.
Headache in back of head? Sometimes i get this small headache in the back of my head. Whenever i tilt my head back and move it back up, it feels like it is heavy bt it doesn't hurt when i do that. It seems to hurt worse when i bend over or shake my head back and forth. It usually comes at random times during the day but doesn't happen everyday. Sometimes it happens in the morning and starts on my left temple. What could it be? Also my left ear feels like it's stopped up but when i pop it, it doesn't help. 4 days ago there was a sore or something in it and it was red and swollen but thats gone now. Other question got deleted when Yahoo messed up last night.
pain in back of head? I've had this pain in the back of my head for about a week. it is not a headache but more of a constant pain tha starts where the big bone is in the back of the head and goes down into the neck. When I turn my head I hear a clicking noise. I was wondering if it could be a form of arthritis. I am 77 years old. Has any one else experienced this? Any advice will be gtreatly appreciated.

Dull headache at back of head, caused by teeth? Please Help!? I've been having this really dull head-ache on and off for the last few weeks. It only lasts for 20 mins or so normally but it is recurring, some days I get it a few times, others just once. Its not sharp or stabbing pain, just pressure (I guess its more like a tension-headache) but it sometimes gets worse, wont shift and I take some ibuprofen tablets until it does. The pain seems to make my teeth feel a little bit numb, as if its going down to my molars at the top of my mouth. Both molars have exposed holes in them due to cracking (i do have fillings and the dentist just told me to 'brush carefully...) but I'm wondering whether thats got something to do with the headaches? The teeth themselves don't hurt and ones been cracked for about a year, the other more recently, like a month ago. But these headaches are just hanging round and irritating me. I'm a little bit health paranoid and so its getting me down a bit, trying not to obsess. I do have a small lump to the back above my left ear which may or may not have been there before but its not painful in that spot exactly. Please help!
Slight pain in back of eyes and head? Hi, Two weeks ago I started having pains in the back of my eyes and following that I also started getting pains around the back of my head and other parts of my head. It does not feel like a headache as the pains and sudden and gone within a few seconds, but I'm becoming concerned with it as it's lasted for two weeks now. Any ideas what this is? I have glasses and have been told by friends it could be related to my eyes and might need to have an eye check for possible lens changes, but your thoughts? Many thanks.

Headache at back of head - wisdom teeth? 've been having this really dull head-ache on and off for the last few weeks. Both molars have exposed holes in them due to cracking (i do have fillings and the dentist just told me to 'brush carefully...) but I'm wondering whether thats got something to do with the headaches? I can feel with my tongue that there is something trying to come through at the top back sides (particularly left) and although it doesn't feel that sore there in that location, my glands may be up a little (they're chronically flaring up though...) and i don't have much jaw pain fortunately, just the headcahes. So could my wisdom teeth be causing these headaches? and maybe the damage to the other teeth?
headache in back of head? i woke up this morning and have had a headache in the top right of the back of my head ever since. what could it be? thanks. (this is new for me)
Headache In Back Of The Head? I sometimes get headaches and whenever I do they are in the back of my head. The pain is not debilitating. It's not by any means severe. But I am interested in what is causing the headaches to always be in the back of my head. Is this something to worry about? i.e. Tumor? I don't think it is but I'm scared.

Pain in left upper back, head, and discomfort in chest? I've had a pain in my left upper back for a view days. I've been getting headaches really often since around Christmas (I don't think it's related), and now I've been having this weird feeling in my chest, but mostly the top of my ribs and around that area. It's this real airy kind of feeling and it's weird to breathe when it's happening. I can't really explain it. Oh! And when I lean forwards sometimes, it makes it harder to breathe. What could it be? Any ideas?

Why do I have headaches in the lower back of my head? It feels more like a pressure than an ache, but it's uncomfortable. It's not from excercise because, um, i haven't been excercising at all lately. Lol. I did go out and walk around an outdoor mall today and it was very hot, but this didn't start till much later in the day, so i don't think they're connected. It also seems to travel from the lower back to my temples and back again randomly. Any help?
What is this clicking noise in the back of my head? I can hear a clicking noise in my head (like if you put one fingernail under the other and flick upwards it makes a 'click' noise) Somewhere at the back of my head.. somewhere in the middle, more to the right than left. I think :/ It's like click quiet click quiet click quiet - quite fast. Like the pace of my walk. It only happens when i walk fast, which happens a lot as i'm usually running late for the bus. I also noticed it when i was jumping on the trampoline. I'm pretty sure it's not my jaw clicking and it doesn't sound like it's from my ear. Not because of a cold or flu and it doesn't hurt or cause me any headaches. It does make me wonder if anyone else can hear it though.. 2 questions: What is it? and Why does it make that noise? Thanks (: I'm 17 and a girl if that's any help. (wasn't sure about the category and sorry for these boring details)

Throbbing in the back of my head? Hey, I'm 15 yrs old, and yesterday I noticed a throbbing pain in the back of my head, like a headache. It didn't really hurt that bad, but it annoyed me. Does anyone know what it is? I'm on my laptop all the time watching hulu, so could it be a migrane from the screen, or cancer from the radiation it gives off? I haven't noticed anything else. So, what could it be?

And every so often at least once a week i'd say, after i walk up a hill of some sort, i get a headache in the back of my head, and i find it harder to breathe when it happens. Odd pressure in back of head? I've had this pain/pressure in the back of my head for two days. It's like someone is pushing on that area. Just last week I had an ear infection for three days. It cleared up. But this pain in my head isn't really overbearing. It doesn't wake me or anything. My nose is runny, and when I breath I feel an almost stinging sensation in my forehead. What could this be? My family has no history of cancer what so ever, only high blood pressure. I've never had a headache in my entire life until yesterday. Though my mother does suffer from migraines often. Could this be my sinuses? Does anyone know what this could be? Please help!
What causes a headache in the back of head? I know some ppl say that stress causes it but I'm not under any stress.. I have no idea what's causing it.. When I touch the back of my head it feels really warm.. And the pain is moving up to the side of my temples

Its more on my right side! Im not not sure what kind of headache is it! While I was having the headache, my nose was hurting then my head started hurting even worse, that happened when I breath! I started feeling nausea and bit sweaty! Worst night ever! I just want the headaches to stop for sure! I also had a burning/ aching pain on the lower right side of my stomach! I felt like I was dying last night! I also have this tense feeling in the center of my forehead! I have to touch my head when it bothers me! Do I need glasses?
