Tension Headache? Tension Headaches? Can tension headaches happen after all of the stressful days and tension have dissapeared for a while, b/c i think i have a tension headache right now. It is a mild pain that seems to be around my head and it doesn't affect my day to day activities and i have been having it for about 3 days now. But all of my stress has been from school and that was about 2 weeks ago. i had 3 tests and an assignment due in a span of 3 days. So are these tension headaches that i am having. Additional Details Could this also be because i am worrying about my headeache being a more serious thing than it actually is. B/c i went to the doctor after my exams in January and he said that it was just tension and when he went to take my blood pressure it was a little high and when my dad and i went to the drugstore to get the pills (about 20 mins after the appointment) that he prescribed i took my blood pressure and it was back down to normal. How Do I Get Rid of a Tension Headache? I need a new pillow-- it happens just about every morning when I wake up. From right between my shoulder blades to midway up the back of my neck/head feels so tight. My husband tries to massage out the knots, but then they come back. I've tried Bayer Tension Headache Relief as well as ibuprophen, but the headache just comes back. And it seems to be related to my sinuses too. Can a tension headache cause pain in the face, especially the bridge of the nose? It starts in the back of the neck and forehead and feel very tight. Can an osteopath really solve the upper back/ neck pain which results in tension headache? I've been visiting a recommended and highly qualified osteopath for the last year in order to get help with re-occurring pain which rises from in between my shoulder blades, into the back of my neck and shoulders, and causes me to experience dull but persistant headaches. Although the visits to the osteopath do bring some relief, it is only temporary and they haven't solved the problem. I am now wondering whether there is any point in continuing these visits, as the problem seems to be muscular, probably brought on by some kind of tension, and not of musculo-skeletal nature. (perverts) I have met Doctors who think 10 tablets of hydrocodone to treat a broken arm, is too much because "you are going to get addicted". Any tips to ease a tension headache? I woke up with a headache this morning and it's gradually got worse throughout the day. I've had a lot of water to drink, thinking it was due to dehydration, and I've taken a combination of pain killers, including prescription strength painkillers, and the headache is still there. It's a typical tension type headache, feels as though there's a tight band around my head etc and hasn't responded to painkillers. So......any tips on how to get rid of tension headaches? What works for you? I tried lying down for an hour earlier, that didn't help either! It's definitely not due to hypertension or anything like that, and I have no concerns about any underlying sinister cause. I'll be a doctor myself in a few months, and I know it's definitely a tension headache - I get them fairly often when I'm stressed and anxious, and today has certainly been a stressful day! Thanks for the suggestions so far. In terms of pain relief, I've already tried paracetamol (tylenol), ibuprofen (motrin?) and diclofenac (voltarol). None of which have made any difference.

I have been getting a really bad tension headache every time I have sex. What can I do to make it stop? I'm fine until I start to climax.
