What can I do for back hip and knee pain? I have been having chronic pain in my back, hip and knees. I'm taking Ibprofen 800mg 3 times a day, but its not always helpful, I asked my doctor for something stronger and she said no, so I don't know what do do, I can't hardly sleep at night. I haven't been diagnosed but my doctor said I was at risk for otheioarthritis(sp) I will take the suggestion to see a chiropractor tho I'm not sure that will help with my knees, this is gross but it feels like shards of glass in there everytime I move it, the cartolage(sp) has broken up/worn away due to my knee caps not being where there suppose to be. and btw I love the suggestion for a long back and massage. That would be awesome, althought I don't know anyone that friendly right now lol

can lower back problems cause knee pain? ever since trying out the back exercise "the superman", i've been dealing with a lot of leg muscle and joint pain. the pain started the day after trying out the exercise, and most of the leg pains have gone away over the course of a month with the exception of knee problems. the knee problems have actually worstened. symptoms are occasional redness over knee, rarely stiffness, pain "behind" kneecap and around the knee area, mostly tendons. if i put my hands on them, i can also hear them make a creaking noise, though ive probably had this before without noticing it. ive been going to a chiropractor and have seen some improvement. pain becomes more constant and stronger a few hours after exercise. is this just a case of overworked knee, or did i do something serious to it? i about a month before experiencing leg pain i had started doing sprint exercises. sorry if its written poorly, im in a rush and can add info in necessary. P.S. im 16!

What is name of medical condition causing hip and knee pain? A physiotherapist has diagnosed a condition that I have, but has not told me a name for the condition. Does anyone know? The curve in my lower spine is more pronounced than normal, this causes my pelvis to be more tilted than normal, and that causes my thigh muscles to be shorter than they should be. The shortening of my thigh muscles pulls my hip and knee joints out of alignment, causing pain in my hip and knee joints. There is no cure for this condition apart from physiotherapy exercises and pain management, but there has got to be a proper medical term for it with more details on the web.

nerve damage/back pain knee pain? I fell 17ft and I have injured my elbow knee and back This happened 16 months ago. I have been told I have nerve damage in my lower back and leg, and also a bulging disk l5-s1 and a vertibrea starting to slip. I have had my acl reconstructed and the same knee scoped 6 months later, because Im still having extreme pain on the(outside below the thigh inside part of my knee) the dr that did the surgery thinks it is nerve related, but I was told you cant get a good emg on the lower extremites. So can the pain in my knee be related to the back problems? I also have numbness in my inner thigh of my right leg. I also have been told I have severe ulnar nerve damage and I need to have surgery on this also. The problem I am having is the neruologist told me I need to see a surgeon, and I have seen 2 so far and they agree i have damage but they wont do the surgery, even thought I have done pt and epideral injections and multipile different meds Any opinions would be helpfull
What is causing my back and knee pain? About 18 months ago, I was diagnosed with mild scoliosis after consulting a doctor due to upper back pain. My doctor told me that it wasn’t that severe, and that what was probably causing the pain was actually a muscle imbalance in my back. He said that a month of physical therapy would get rid of the pain. During the first two weeks of my physical therapy, I noticed that the pain was beginning to subside. A few days later, the level of pain I experienced began to return but, ultimately, it drastically decreased after a few months of continuing a home work out plan given to me by my physical therapist. Then, just a few months later I began experiencing lower back pain as well as pain in and near my tailbone and butt when sitting down. I again returned to my doctor, who told me the same thing as before – one month of physical therapy would whip me into shape and get rid of the pain. The only problem was that this second round of physical therapy didn’t help me nearly as much as the first. I decided I would continue my home work out plan for a few months and see what happened, but the pain didn’t go away. And I’m also now beginning to experience a discomfort in my right knee and calf that feels like an uncomfortable pressure, but I wouldn’t go so far as to call it a “pain.” What’s really strange is that my left calf muscle (the one not experiencing any pain) has grown in size as if it’s compensating for more weight to bear due to the scoliosis. But shouldn’t my right calf muscle have gotten bigger, since it’s the one that is experiencing the pain and thus, (presumably) more weight? I’m just really confused and not sure of what I should do. Has anyone else experienced this kind of problem? Is it possible that a problem in my leg has caused the scoliosis and back pain, and not the other way around? Should I return to my original doctor or seek a second opinion? Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! By the way, I’m a 21 year old male if that makes any difference at all.
sudden sharp pain in back of knee lasting about 30seconds.? I am on my feet alot. Age: 55years. Some varicous veins. Pinched nerve in lower L3 and L4. Lots of back pain. The pain is pretty scary.
How do I learn to live with back and knee pain? I have awful mid and low back pain, and knee pain that makes me have to crawl up my stairs, and the doc can't find anything wrong. Once, a few years ago, he gave me a shot in my hip that made the pain go away for several months, but it was steriods, which I don't want to do too often, or at all, really. I've tried Celebrex and a couple other prescrip. anti-inflamatories, with no luck. Advil helps to some degree (yes, I know it's an anti-inflamatory) if I take at least 800 mg at a time, but only helps so much. I have had to stop taking it recently because it was causing stomach pain. Now my doc wants me to use Ultram, or Tramadol, but it takes about 2 hours to work, and then knocks me out for 24 hours when I take enough to help the pain. 100 Mg. It also makes me itch and makes my shoulders very tense. I know that half of a 7.5 Lortab is perfect, and I have never used it more often than twice a month, but my doc won't give it to me. What do I do? It's making me crazy! Oh, and I do go the the chiro all the time, and it used to help my back pain, but not so much now. My doc says that according to my x-ray, I have arthritis in my lower back, but what can be done about it?
Knee/Back Pain? I run winter track (and xc), and lately I've been having some knee/back pain. I don't want to bug my coach because I don't think it's anything serious and I don't want to whine or spend the season cross training. Right after I run, my knees become very sore/tender right below the kneecap (it goes away mostly after I stretch). My lower back becomes very sore while I'm running, and the feeling doesn't go away completely. Both of them have lasted in different incarnations this week (we've been running on ice though) Does anyone know what might be wrong (or not be wrong)? Thank you so much :o) Oh. I just got new shoes a week ago, and have insoles. So maybe my shoes aren't the right kind? Thank you anyway.
Back Knee pain? I'm about 29 years old. I have recently developed severe pain from my back to the knee. The pain radiates from my back (somewhere above my right kidney) till the back of my knee. I don't think it has got to do with bones. It is some kind of a pain in the nerve. I don't think I have hurt myself anywhere. I'm not sure why I'm getting this pain. Please help!
Can metatarsal injury/spur cause back/knee pain? Any advice? A few weeks ago, I began experiencing pain/burning along the bottoms of my feet. I got ordinary arch supports for my shoes and things improved. I saw my doctor last week and he said that I have spurs on the side of my feet (outer edge, near big toe) and had a metatarsal injury (not a fracture) that could likely be corrected with the use of metatarsal pads inserted in the shoe. I'm using the pads, but I've been having increased pain in my knees and back, and the pain in my feet is back. I know it may take some time to adjust to the shoe inserts, but my I am going on vacation next week--it was supposed to be a very active vacation. I realize I will have to change that a bit, but I'm concerned about being this uncomfortable. There's really no way to avoid a decent amount of walking every day. Any advice to decrease the discomfort (aside from OTC pain relievers and icing)? And any insight on whether I am actually doing any damage if I engage in moderate activity while having pain?

back & knee pain ? helppppp ..? BACK -- i have a really bad pain, sometimes its a shooting pain but other times its constant, its at the back of my right rib. it hurts when i move sometimes, & i cant get comfortable without having an awful pain in my back.. my friend said i could have a cold in my back? does anybody actually know what this is ? KNEE -- i have like a constant pain in my knee. it goes from the back of my knee around to the front so its basically my whole knee. sometimes it hurts so much i just cant walk on it at all. its affecting what i do daily so.. can anyone help ?
How can knee pain be connected to back pain? For the last 2 years, I've had knee pain any time I was active, which is a problem, considering I play softball and basketball. Recently the pain has transferred to my back, so I went to a chiropractor, and she told me I had structural imbalances and the knee pain is connected to the back pain. But I stopped going to the chiropractor and am now seeing a sports medicine doctor, who thinks the back pain is a muscular strain of some sort. So I played in a doubleheader today, and as expected, had some bad pain in my lower back and tightness in the left side of my back during the first game. I haven't had knee pain at all in the last 2 months (around the time the back pain started occuring), but during the second game, pain started shooting through both of my knees, and the back pain seemed to ease out. Right now, my knees are killing me and my legs feel very crampy. My back is fine, except for a slight soreness (NOT pain) when I bend over. What's going on? Why do I even bother asking? I'm not going to get an answer anyways. I have gone to three doctors for the knee pain, none of them helped. It's been going on for 2 years now.
Anyone have the Mirena IUD put in and then experience terrible back pain and knee pain? I had the Mirena IUD put in 2 months after having my second child, which was in October 2008. I started to have bad headaches, terrible back pain and my knees all of a sudden felt like I was 70 years old! I can hardly stand after sitting because my knees just want to give. I thought maybe it was the onset of arthritis (I am only 37) but after doing some research on the internet, it seems that other women have had the joint pain that I am experiencing since having the Mirena put in. Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem and if you had the Mirena removed, did it seem to alleviate the problems? Thanks!
Knee and now back pain? I have had knee pain since I was 9 (for 16 years now), it is achy but can be very severe. I thought it was arthritis, but was recently told there is no way it could be that because juvenile arthritis would have left me crippled by now. I get upper back pain if I don't sleep completely flat. I sometimes can't straighten my left leg because of a pain from me knee to the ball of my foot. I also sometimes get very sharp quick pain in my lower back and am unable to pick a leg off of the floor to walk at times. Is this all related? I am just sick of having at least one of these stupid pains every day. Any advice would be great!

Navy Question ????????? If my husband has knee pain and back pain at times shouldn't he tell his recruiter? Or should I tell his recruiter myself? His recruiter is one of my myspace friends. My husband is always complaining to me when we are walking he always says his knee is giving out or it hurts and he won't go to the doctor and I told him to tell his recruiter but he won't tell him. His job in the navy will be a Machinist Mate so shouldn't he tell his recruiter about his pains that he gets and he leaves on March 5, 2008 for boot camp. I DON'T WANT HIM TO GET INTO ANY TROUBLE, BECAUSE HIS DADDY WANTS HIM TO STAY HERE AND TAKE OVER HIS BUSINESS BECAUSE HIS DADDY IS GETTING OLD NOW WOULD YOU GO TO THE NAVY OR STAY HERE AND HAVE YOUR OWN BUSINESS BUT MY HUSBAND IS SO STUBBORN SOMETIMES BUT I LOVE HIM NO MATTER WHAT HE GETS PAINS ONLY LIKE SOMETIMES LIKE WHEN HE GETS OFF THE FLOOR OR FINSIH EXCERCISING OR WALKING AROUND THE CORNER AND HE COMPLAINS TO ME AND TOLD HIM TO GO TO THE DOCTOR BUT HE SAYS NO DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME WORRY ABOUT YOURSELF AND I'M LIKE YOOU GOING TO GET IN TROUBLE IF YOU DON'T TELL AND I TOLD HIM THAT I WAS GOING TO TELL HIS RECRUITER MYSELF AND HE SAID HE IS GOING TO TELL HIS RECRUITER THAT I AM LYING AND THAT I JUST DON'T WANT HIM TO GO
Jointed stirrups? Back, hip, knee pain!? I'm not sure what to do anymore. I compete in showjumping - and due to injuries and wear and tear related to riding, I'm having bad back, knee, and hip(only my left, not both) pain. This has been ongoing - and I haven't had a recent fall or accident. I've been seeing a chiropractor and massage therapist(deep tissue - ouch) for 3x a week for almost a year now, I work out 6x a week in addition to my riding schedule - - my doctor has told me to keep doing this and reccomended lots of yoga and swimming. My back and knees hurt so bad when I ride, especially when jumping and working in two point - my left hip hurts when I walk or run. I always end up taking an above-average amount of painkillers - especially before my riding lessons. I've heard mixed reviews about jointed stirrups - but I'm curious if they could help? Or will they make things worse? I've always used regular irons - and my trainer hates the jointed ones, but wouldn't oppose me using them. I'm only just turning 18, and am in good health otherwise - but my knees, back and hip make me feel like I'm 75! Should I be getting x-rays or exams on different conditions? Thanks! I guess it's a hazard of the trade - I don't know how George Morris can still get on a horse and jump! =) I forgot to add that if anyone has brand suggestions, I'd love to know! I was looking into Herm Sprenger and Royal Rider.
I have terrible arthritic knee and low back pain, looking for some really good homeopathic type ways for care? Retired U.S. Army Ranger. with lots of miles on knees and many jumps. I have had both knees scoped, didnt seem to help, as for back pain no hurniations but problem area is in the L5 s1 area
can a knee injury cause hip and back pain? I twisted my knee pretty good in the summer time and i continued to workout and run. A couple months down the road I've been getting some hip and lower back pain. Doctor told me it was a pinched nerve and gave me some meds but its just getting worse. I thought maybe the knee problem threw my hip or back out of alignment and maybe a trip to the chiropractor would fix it???
back ch and knee pain(back bone pain and knee pain)? i have back bone and knees pain DRS giving me pain killer bcz of no clear identy of pain ,any person help me in this regard i am under depression due to this, for the time being i am in glasgow uk .any local cheeper treatment, thropy or massag etc

Is anyone allergic to Aspartame or other artificial sweeteners? If so, does any one have joint pain? I lost a lot of weight and, to do so, I changed from regular soda (drank very little of it) to diet soda (mostly diet Coke - drinking almost every day - sometimes two glasses a day). I had no back pain, knee pain, back popping sounds before I lost weight. I though I would be healthier (lost about 50 lbs) but now I am in so much pain - espcially on the left side of my back - area of my ribs. I can even seem to "push" the rib cage forward and it pops and feels better for a while. I also feel better standing up than sitting, or laying down. Someone has suggested I could have an allergy that is causing severe arthritis (I am over 50 yrs old). Any help at all would be appreciated - I have gone to more than one doctor and they can't seem to find anything difinitive. I have done physical therapy and continue to walk as often as possible. Thanks for any help - I am living with it - but I sure would like to spend a few days pain free. Any ideas?
Please help!! i have severe knee and lower back pain. constant reoccurance. what could it be? i'm going to the docs on the 20th, but i'm in soooooooo much pain now. i'm taking 800mg of motrin, but it's not helping at all. i keep my knee elevated whenever i can and have been told i have borderline flat feet. what can i do in the meantime to keep the pain at bay? it's keeping me up at night and i can't get comfortable all day. please help!
Lower left back pain, more in details? 6'3 260lbs. Have lost nearly 25 lbs....no change in pain. Have a new mattress---soft. Sleep either sideways or on my back and have a pillow between legs or underneath. No verterbrae out of place as this was checked out. PT work on back-no change. Was told my knee pain in direct correlation to back pain....knee pain worked out and still back pain. 26 years old
My back and knees hurt when I run, is this normal? I just recently started to run, and I've been noticing some pretty sharp pains in knees, and a little in my back, but after I'm done my run, the knee pain goes away, and the back pain kills. I got a pair of orthopedic shoes, they're pretty old, but barely used, and I'm 6"0, 150lbs and 15y.o. Anyone know what's wrong, or if it's normal?
back/knee/hip pain...i'm only 18 though? My family has a history of weak backs...so when i put my back out in my teens a few times i thought nothing of it. However, recently my back slipped so badly i passed out from the pain and couldnt walk for a few days. since then it has been even worse and now my knees and hips are suffering too. my right hip has been really painful when i walk this week, and the longer i walk the further the pain travels down to my knee. any ideas what's going on? like i said, i'm only 18 so it's not just old age catching up. thanks
Knee pain. When legs are folded for some time and on straightening there is acute pain in the back of knee.? When I walk & do my normal activities there is no pain in my knee. But if I sit with my legs folded, there is acute pain in back side of my left knee, on straightening the leg. This pain subsides after about 15 minutes. When I am sitting with my legs folded, at that moment there is no pain. But pain occurs once I straighten my legs. It may pl. be noted that pain is only in my left knee, it occurs only after folding the leg, during normal movement there is no pain & Pain is in the back side of the knee. I would like to request other learned members to pl. clarify & guide me regarding the above problem. Any further clarifications are welcome.
Snapping and Pain in the back of my knee...? I've been taking Pilates and I absolutely love it! It's really helped my back pain, and strengthened my core. My only problem is that there is one move that we do EVERY class, and I can't do it with my right leg. The move is as follows: I lie on my stomach, face down on the mat and to one side, then, keeping both legs straight, I lift them off the mat slightly. I don't have any pain until I have to start bending one knee (it's like a "kick" - bend, then straighten, then bend, then straighten...all while the legs are slightly lifted off the mat). I can do it just fine with the left leg, but when I try the right leg, there is a snapping/clicking behind my right knee. I thought it might have been muscle soreness, so I massaged the back of my knee before working out...but it didn't do anything. It is a painful snap, so I usually just skip that move....but I just want to know what the heck that is!
I'm having various symptoms right now such as lower and middle back pain and left hip and left knee pain.? To me symptoms like these might all go together and I'm trying to figure out kind of what might be wrong with me. These symptoms are pretty painful. I'm only 28 but I feel old, I'm having trouble getting around without being in ALOT of PAIN!!!!!
what are some alternatives to narcotics for pain relief? I have recently over the past few months went from being dependent on oxycodone to having an addiction to it. I over use because of the addiction and want off all narcotics at this time. I am looking for any alternatives to narcotics to treat knee pain, fibromyalgia and Restless Leg Syndrome. PLEASE HELP I am desperate for alternatives. I have tried heat, ice, NSAID'S, physical therapy and numerous braces for knee and back pain and currently take REQUIP and Valium for RLS.
Is it possible to feel pain in your back because of flat feet? I'm pretty sure i have collapsed arches (something genetic) and i started feeling pain in my knees and lower back pain for several years (20 now). I also think it's partly due to bad posture, because i spend 4-5 hours at computer. I started doing exercises since april and decreased the time spent on computer and it's been useful. Should i ask a doctor before trying one of those plantars? Any tips appreciated!
Back of Knee pain ACL? Okay I have practice 4 days a week and on tuesday we ran not vigrous running but we ran. Anyways I woke up this morning and the back of my knee hurt. I stretched it out and it was alright I could walk easily without much pain and i got use to it and i can bend my legs. I'm just worried that i tore or did something with my ACL? Any ideas what this could be? I mean i can walk on it and run on it but it kinda hurts if i just rest it there and then try to get up and walk.
Knee muscle - inner and back - pain spreads to calf & chest back. Walking painful but climbing stairs OK? A mild heaviness in lower front of knee. MRI shows L-1,2 and L5-S1 disc spaces reduced but no nerve roots overtly compressed. Lumbar vertebrae are normal in height, alignment and marrow signal characteristics. I am 55, 172 cm, 69 Kg and vegetarian. My BP, RA factor and Uric acid are within limits. Fatsing sugar level 111 and post parandial is 90.
Can acute knee pain have a neurologic origin? My doctors are at a loss. The latest to date (a psychiatrist) suggested I see a neurologist. But does it really make sense, given the intensity of the pain? I can hardy remain sitting on a chair for more than 10 mn... There's back pain too, but to a lesser extent. So plaese tell me if the nerves can be responsible, how they diagnoe that, and are there efficient treatments? Thanks for your help.
What is this pain in the back of my knee? About 2 weeks ago I was doing some stretches because im on the cheer leading team. After practice I realized i had pain in the back of my knee. It hurts when its bent or when I'm laying down on my bed and my leg is straight. If I'm sitting with my legs crossed like in the Indian style position it also hurts. It also hurts in the morning .It was swollen a bit at first but now its look fine. I haven't gone to the doctor because i thought by now it would've gone away. I'm 18 years old ,5'3 and i weigh 120 .
What is the best essential oil to use for knee pain? I have been doing bikram yoga for a little over a week now and just today i found that all of the locking of the legs has made my knee caps a little sore, with a sharp, but bearable pain in my left knee cap. what essential oil, or blend is best for massaging on the knee cap area?
Any suggestions for what i can do for knee pain that comes and goes and is more severe when it comes back? for about a month now, i have had moderate to severe knee pain. I know i ask alot of questions about the same thing, but my last one, i tried to rice thing and it helped for a little while, but when it started hurting more, it stopped really helping. What can cause knee pain outside of injury? everytime i sit down and stand back up even for a couple of seconds, my knee gets a sharp pain and my knee shakes, it really hurts so please help.
What yoga stretches will help with Knee and back pain? I've been having a lot of problems with pain in back (especially across my neck and shoulders) and in my legs (knees especially). I think some of these aches are work related (I'm on my feet all day at work) but I also think they are due in part to depression. I'm already on an antidepressant and heard that yoga is great to help one relax. What are some good yoga poses that will help with this? I'm tired of being sore all the time.
chronic back pain- 10 points to the best answer!!!!!!? I am a 17 year old male around 130 pounds very active. I play tennis, but have chronic back, knee and general joint pain. When I was 15 years old I was diagnosed with mild scoliosis. Later that year I experienced a stress fracture in my femur and developed longer term tendinitis in my ankles and knees. Low grade pain medication have not worked in the slightest bit, and I don't want to be on pain killers or anything of the sort. My parents are opposed to chiropractors and physical therapy. What can i do to get some relief....... i want to try a session with a massage therapist specializing in chronic back pain (shes a family friend) or a chiropractor. What do you suggest??? Lately my lower back by the back of my pelvis, I experience sharp but mostly aching pain sometimes followed by numbness and throbbing. It's very close to the nerves, and the vertebrates in my back are sensitive to the touch and if pressed on correctly, I will experience extremely sharp pain.

pain in back of knee? I went skiing a few days ago (which I should not have been doing) and fell popping both skis off. I knew at once that I had screwed up my knee after having numerous knee problems in the past (hyper-extension, patellar dislocation acl and meniscus tears and even a tibular realignment) only this time it feels different. It swelled immediatley as usual but it feels like I have pins and needles all the way down to my toes and yesterday I could move them but my toes were numb. The muscles above my knee are spasmimg and the back of my knee has that beyond tired ache and it is driving me crazy. I don't have insurance and can't afford to go to the dr for something unless it is absolutely nessecary but I really want to know what could possibly be wrong and what I should do to alleviate some of the persistant pain. I am taking NSAIDs and r.i.c.e but it isn't helping. HELP!

Broken blood vessels on the back of knee, and knee pain....? My husband awoke with severe knee pain two days ago after a good night of rest, and no injury. I looked at the back of his knee, and there is a patch of broken blood vessels in the site where the knee pain is. If he walks around the pain, is less severe, but after times of inactivity, is when it hurts him the most. We have no health insurance, so any advice would be welcome! thanks
What could my knee pain be and what can be done for it? I am in my 40's and my knee hurts and the doctor told me its not arthirtus. I'm taking a vitamin for the joints. When I am on these vitamins I don't feel the pain, when i quit taking them for a few days, I'm fine, then the pain comes back again. What could this knee pain be and what should be done for it?
Bad back pain, and knee pain. Shooting headaches? Doctor says nothings wrong? I went to a back specialist (not a chiropractor, but some sort of doctor), and I told her that I had back pain everytime i got up, and it takes a while for me to get up because of my back and knees. Some times when I get up, i get sharp shooting headaches that last a couple seconds, and my vision goes completely white for a few seconds, and it's even when i've only be sitting for a couple minutes. I am 14 years old, and I am active, im not over weight, im about 115 lbs, 5' 5", and I don't sit in a chair all day doing nothing. The doctor said that i had "mild escoliosis" but i think theres something else wrong. They did find excessive protein in my urine, and they did 5 different tests, and 1 out of 5 tests had no protein, so they said nothing was wrong with that (dont buy it). but i dont know.. whats going on?
Back, hip and knee pain... Only 14 weeks pregnant. Is this normal? I've had terrible back pain since about 10 weeks. It hurts so bad at the end of the day i can barely walk. if i walk too mich it hurts, if i sit too long it hurts, if i stand too long it hurts. And now my knees and hips have started hurting. I feel like its way too early to be in this much pain. Due to medicaid, i haven't been able to go to the dr yet but will be going later this week. Did anyone else have these problems so early?
Outer back knee pain? Hey Everyone! In like January I was going in for a layup in basketball and I kind of landed weird and the outer back of my left knee hurts. I was able to kind of play through it because it seemed like once it was warm it didn't really hurt. In between basketball and softball seasons I completly rested it, but once I started softball, it started hurting again. Other than landing too hard, I can trigger the pain when I squat or when I lie down and have the bad knee bent and pointing outward. Any idea of what this can be? If you have any questions just ask! Thanks!
Back pain and knee pain in a 13 year old? Hi. I am 13, and my lower back hurts all the time. When I bend over, it cracks. Also, my knees hurt. They hurt when I stand up, run, climb stairs.......... basically whenever I put pressure on them (except they usually don't hurt when I walk). I can barely run in gym anymore. My knees hurt too bad. I used to be able to run really fast, now I can't. Like 2 weeks ago, I was climbing up the steps on my porch and my knee gave way. I fell on the porch. My dad says it's growing pains, but they are getting worse and they have been going on for a long time now. Is there some sort of condition that causes this??
Really bad back, knee, and hip pain? The past several months i've had really bad back and knee pain. I can barely get up when I'm sitting down in school or on the couch. I am 14, and it took me longer than it took my 95 year old great-great-aunt to get up from the table. The knee pain is the worst. I went to some doctor and they said i have "mild escoliosis" but it's nothing to worry about, but i dont believe that cuz the knee pain is really bad, and the past month i've been having really bad hip pain. I always limp when i walk because of it. It's on the left side in the upper hip. sometimes when i lean to that side when im standing i actually scream in pain for a quick second. what's going on?? :/
Back of knee pain - what is causing it? The back of my knee seems to hurt once in a while. It only hurts while I start walking SOMETIMES, and may continue to hurt afterwards. The pain is hard to describe. I am 14 years old. What could a possible diagnosis be? also sometimes some pain in the thigh along with that.
Wants my knee pain to go away? Hey, i'm 17 but will be 18 in january. back in 2005 i was diagnosed with osgoodshlatters disease in my left knee. back then the pain was barely noticeable and i just went along with what i used to do. Now that im older however, the pain has got increasingly worse and has spread from my knee area to my thigh and sometimes my lower calf muscle and ankle. I've been putting ice on it when it hurts and back in january i had an x-ray to see if my bones were still growing. The results im not too certain for sure as not a lot was explained. Unfortunately last week i went again to the hospital for a check-up on how things were going and my doctor just said that there was nothing he could do until i was 21, and then i was ushered out the room. Also he asked me if i had back pain and/or pins and needles in my foot. I did but not a lot so i didn't feel it was relevant if it didn't happen usually so i never mentioned it. However i feel that was a mistake and i'm wondering if i should go back and tell them? All i really want is for my knee to get better and the pain to go away, as nothing i do helps relieve it when its in full swing. My dad has some kinda problem in his same knee i think its something to do with arthritis but i'm not too sure? could that be passed on? and is there a type of physio for my condition? Any feedback would be handy and most appreciated thank you nicky xx
my husband has pain on the back of his knees, and lumps on his legs & arms can anyone help? hi a few days ago my husband complained of pain at the back of his knees, he took paracetamol and he felt better but the pain came back as soon as the medication wore off, six days later he's still in pain and covers it with paracetamol, and today we noticed that he has a lump on each of his ankles just above, he later dicovered that there was similar lumps below his elbows and below his knees and they hurt when touched. he has never experienced anything like this and we have no idea what it is so please let us know if you have an idea. Thanks.
Pain In Back of tigh, knee, sometime my foot.? Ok So all i can remember that might have cause this was this past 5th of july, I dont usually ride bikes, i did on the 5th. I raced my friend so i forced myself to go as fast as i could. 2 weeks later i started feeling a pain on the back of my tigh, buttock burning, and my knee and foot starting hurting. The pain has gone a lil bit. It went away for like 3 days and it came back. I went to the doctor she said it might be sciatic nerve. She gave me muscle relaxer and ibuprofen for the pain (not helping) Its been almost been like 3 weeks now and when i walk the back of my tigh hurts my knee feels weak, and my ankle hurts. Now, Like 3 days ago i have left lower abdominal burning sensation. This happens when i sit down. When i stand up or lay down it goes away. Can this be a muscle i pulled and its causing all of this? any Help?
Annoying pain in back of knee? I have an annoying pain in the back of my knee, it feels like theres something moving, like a bubble or vain when i straighten my leg. It happened when i was skateboarding yesterday, the skateboard hit the front of my knee and a sat down for a bit and was fine, but about an hour later i started getting the pain in the back of my knee, since then it has swelled up and is difficult to bend. Any ideas what it is and what i can do?? Thanks.
Pain in the back of my knee? I think I may have pulled something in the back of my knee from walking a lot today. (Like 45 minutes straight) and it's really painful to walk and bend my knee now. I'm not sure though. It's like whenever that area is flexed, I feel a pull so it might just be really tight or something. Idkkk. I'm sure all I'll probably need to do is stretch and rest, but does anyone have any other advice?
Back knee pain? Over training cause? I have this pain on the back of my knee, but I only experience it when I get up in the morning and after I've sat for a while then get up to walk. The pain is gone when I walk for a while, run or jump. I'm training in mma could some exercises that we do have to do with this? A part of my weight lifting routine is doing squats.
what is this pain in the back of my knee? About a month ago I started feeling a slight pain in the back of knee sometimes when I went to a spinning class and then yesterday morning I squatted to pick something up and had a huge sharp pain in the same spot...like an intense charlie horse in the back of my knee and my toes almost felt numb. I still can't bend my knee without pain. I guess the pain is located in the lateral collateral ligament AREA. http://216.74.18.90/image/122/totalknee/knee-anatomy.htm So, is this nothing or what? and If I had to see a doctor is this something chiropractor could help with because I have a herniated disk on the same side of my back (l4/l5) but I doubt they are related...? Thank you! by spinning I mean on an exercise bike ;)

I have a severe pain in the side/back of my knee (not kneecap) only when I run? Yesterday, as soon as i started to run i felt SEVERE pain so much that i could not run. I beleive its a ligament or something in the inside of my left knee. I am completely fine when im walking or going at a VERY slow jog.. Also, when i do certain stretches (such as touching my toes or where you put your foot on your opposite knee while sitting) i feel the same pain. Sports are really important to me and all of my sports involve running (xc, soccer, bball) so as you can see i really need to figure out whats wrong ASAP... does anyone know what could possibly be wrong with my ligament or something in my knee? It only hurts when i run, not walk or even after sports, just while im running... Thanks :/
How do I fix my knee and back pain and breathing problems for running cross country? So i just started running cross country over the summer. For a month, I was doing okay and able to keep in the middle of the pack even though I developed shin splints in the first two weeks. The splints got better in about a week without rest. Over time, though, they came back and I began to develop other problems. It all happened slowly, but I was getting worse everyday with only one day of rest without practice. My knees couldn't support much weight and hurt whenever I bent them. I began to experience a sharp pain in my ankles forcing me to walk with a slight limp. I got slower every day. My doctor (not a sports physician just an everyday doctor) told me to take a week off of running and wear braces were it hurt. I also had to take this medicine for muscle stiffness or spasms or something like that. After a week of rest I came back not better, but worse. Now I have breathing troubles- shortness of breath, chest pain, and an inability to run a mere half a mile without stopping. Everything gets so tight when I run, but not when I do other exercises like lifting weights. It's really ridiculous because now I get tired by barely running anything. I get tired during the warm up. I'm slower than the slowest guy on the team. Also, just today I couldn't run for long because my lower back was tightening up every few seconds. It may be my shoes (Nike free 7.0 they're really light running shoes that are supposed to make the feet stronger by having less support) but I ran fine with them for about two weeks. As of now the shin splints are gone, and the ankles are okay. I still have problems with my back, breathing and to a smaller extent the knees.
does anyone know what causes the pain at back of my knee? I am a football player playing regularly every evening. after last week match, i felt some kind of pain at the back of knee. its like when you sit for a period of time and when you get up, you'll feel the pain as you trying to straighten up your leg. astonishingly, when i do the running like jogging or playing soccer, i don't feel it at all. any ideas?
I have lower back pain and knee pain, could it be the way I walk? Both of my knees hurt (they pop when I stand, too). I randomly get lower back pain as well. Someone reciently pointed out to me that when I walk, I "stomp around". She said I do not bend my knees and walk, rather, I have my legs straight out and do not bend my toes. Kind of, walk on my heel, I suppose. "Stomps around" is what she calls it. Could it be the way I walk that is making my knees and my back hurt? Or something else?

What type of exercise to avoid knee pain? I have pain all joints like knee pain and back pain
Why do I keep having knee pain behind my knee 18 months post op acl reconstruction? When I put weight on it I feel a lot of sharp shooting pains across the back of my knee. It can be pretty bad sometimes, to the point where I kind of have to drag my leg. Anyone have this or know what could be the problem?
What is this stabbing pain in the back of my knee? Today when I got home from work, I had been sitting a while and when I stood up there was a pain on the inside of the back of my knee. It seems to be getting worse through the night, and now I almost can't walk without limping. It doesn't hurt at all as long as I sit and don't touch it, but otherwise it does. Two things could have caused this: 1) My new job, where I am constantly standing and walking. 2) Running a few blocks two days ago in bad shoes.
Looking for the strongest over the counter Pain meds for Knee and back Pain? I have a lot of lower back pain caused by a deteriorating disk as well as mild scoliosis (back problems run in my family, everyone of my aunts and uncles, including my father have had back surgery, i have not, im only 28), my Dr had prescribed me Norcos but taking them too often upsets my stomach, he also put me in to physical therapy to see if the electroshock therapy would help. On top of my bad back I have knee pain stemming from an injury when I was younger, I chipped my knee cap. My knee never gave me problems until recently. I don't have the best insurance and I cant afford all the xrays and Specialty Dr appointments right now. I am taking Alieve but its not really doing anything for me, does anyone have a suggestion on a pain med that will get me through this until I can afford to get to the Dr's?
Front & back knee pain!? So ive had this pain for a while and it wasnt THAT bad, but i went to my orthopedic surgeon anyway just to be safe. He said i have bursitis in the back of my knee, which is water buidl up or inflamation. He said he didnt want to get an MRI and just wanted to leave it alone...eventhough it still was hurting? Im getting a second opinion on friday. BUT i wanted some insight becaue it is KILLING me to walk up the stairs, or drive because its my leg that uses the break and gas and it hurts my knee to move my foot left and right..I cant bend my leg at my knee or anything cause it will feel like it will snap...ive done research and i feel pain where my miniscus is and where my posterior cruciate ligament in the back of my knee..but thats just me doing research on it. What do you think??
Back of knee pain any solutions? I have this pain in the back of my leg at the knee joint. Hurts when moved and then subsides when stationary
neck and knee problems related to back pain? Hello, I am a 30 year old male and am experiancing major neck pain (almost 16 years now), minor lower back pain, and left knee pain (which has recently turned into random complete failure of the joint while walking). The neck pain started originaly after a football accident where i was face masked and landed directly on the top of my head. After about 2 weeks of rubbing my neck I heard a loud pop and was able to turn it side to side and the pain was reduced to a minimum amount. All X-Rays of my neck and knee have returned that there is no problems and that both look healthy. I recently requested an MRI of my back as my doctor will not give me anything for the pain and keeps telling me there is nothing wrong. In getting the MRI of my lower back they found that at the L4-L5 level, mild concentric central canal narrowing. No significant neural foraminal stenosis. There is also some minimal dialation of the central canal of the spinal cord within the conus medullaris. L4-L5 disc level there is a mild diffuse bulge.no protrusions or extrusions present. There is some mild hypertrophy of the ligamentum flavum. There is some mild lateral recess stenosis but no displacement of the transiting nerve roots. There is some very minimal impingement on the left neural foramen perineural fat. Can anyone give me some feeback. I tried to include as much info as I could. Thanks, Ken
If you do alot of hard, phisical labor will it worsen your back pain? If you are 17 and your father has moderate back pain, also neck, and knee pain, is it hereditary? And could it possibly get worse with age and phisical labor?
Pain in back of knee? More specifically the tendons on the back of my right knee. Its been like this for 2 1/2 weeks now ever since I ran my first 2 mile run in PE. On my last lap, the back of my need started to really hurt out of no where- I didn't land on my leg wrong or anything. Ive never had a history of a leg pain in my life. So I rested for 2 weeks and it hurts if I do a sudden movement or continuous running motion. It feels like a sprained tendon but it doesn't hurt if I walk or do non physically demanding tasks. This causes me to sometimes think its over, and when I start running and get to half a lap- it starts hurting again out of the blue. After the pain flare up, If I do a touch toes stretch- then the back of knee hurts. but if I do a calf stretch, then there is no pain so I think its the hamstrings. What could this be? its only for the back of my right leg, no where else. Im 16 and Im thinking about going to the doctor. My PE physical fitness test is starting this week and Ill have to run a mile. I can do that fine, but not with this leg pain. I have a note from my dad but she says I still have to run it anyway- or fail the test... maybe if I have a doctors note- I will be able to take the test another time. P.S, don't just say tough it out. It hurts ALOT, like running with a sprained knee that gets more painful with every stride.
Sudden sharp pain in my left hip going down my left leg to the left back of my knee - what could cause this? I started walking and had a sudden pain in my left hip (very sharp pain) going down my left leg to the left back of my knee. The pain was so intense I had to stop walking immediately, I finally made it back to my desk and almost fainted from the pain. It feels better now that I am sitting again - I am only 24 years old and in excellent shape (work out several times a week) what could be happening? Do I need to contact a doctor? Not sure that it matters, all I've done today is sit at my computer desk at work with minimal walking. I try to sit up straight (consciously) and move a lot sometimes sitting with my legs up in my chair or straight out in front of me because it's hard to sit still 8 hours a day. Apparently I'm not high enough level to give anyone a 'thumbs up' yet... the Sciatica Diagnosis sounds pretty accurate, and I guess I will just go home and try the home remedies and hope it doesn't happen again the scary thing is not being sure what caused it because I would hate for it to happen again. It's pretty embarrassing when you're in the main hallway of your office building and suddenly can't move!

Pain in the back of knee? I was sprinting and felt a little pop in my knee. I started feeling pain in the back of my knee mainly when I extend it. Also when I get from sitting, it tenses up almost like it is locking up. There doesn't appear to be any swelling. I also get cramps that shoot up my hamstring and down my calf. Any thoughts on what it could ne?

I was wondering if there are any stretches or other things I can do before, during, and after the show to prevent this (or at least ease the pain a little). I sit in it Indian style, if that helps.

What condition could I have with lower back and knee pain? I need Dr. House!? Background info: I'm 23 years old female. I injured my back about 7 or 8 years ago, I got whiplash from a bucking horse. They think I tore muscles and ligaments in my lower back, nothing was broken for the X-rays. I did physical therapy (PT) for it for about 6 months. About 3 weeks ago I found out that my left leg is about 3 cm longer than my right and could be causing some of my back pain. Oh and I have consent lower back pain. About 1 year ago in March I was diagnosed with lateral tracking of the patella on my right knee. I did 6 months of PT for it and I'm back in PT for it and have been doing it for a month and half. I got an MRI and it was clean, nothing torn or broken. The surgeon says I definitely have knee pain but the cause of it is unknown and surgery right now is not a option. I can't run, go up or down stairs with out pain, sitting or standing for a long time hurts, driving hurts sometimes, I cant put all or some of my weight on it. I get a burning pain in the inside of knee, it makes a popping feeling, and on the top outer ledge of it. I'm going to go see an orthopedic spine surgeon this week, but this would be doctor number 4 that I have seen for my knee. I really just want to run again and have someone tell me that they know why I'm in so much pain. I can deal with the back pain b/c that never stopped me from running, riding, or got in the way of my life but my knee has. So if anyone can give me clues or help me out with this I would greatly appreciate it. If anyone knows of a Dr. House for knees please let me know!
Lower back and knee pain....34 weeks pregnant :(? I am 34 weeks pregnant and over ther last week or so i have been having severe lower back pain which shoots down to my right knee. I am now finding it difficult to walk and have to limp. A couple of times my knee has actually given way and hurts most when going up or down stairs My right ankle and foot is constantly swollen also. I am going to see the doctor this evening but wondered if anyone else has experienced this and knows how to help deal with it. I have been having repetitive pain in the back of my knee since i played tennis without warming up a month ago. It was swollen for 3 days after that, and now if im walking its ok, just if i stand suddenly from rest or stretch it suddenly i cant, or if i stop suddenly from walking or sit suddenly. Hip + lower back + knee pain? I am a 15 year old. I am slim and healthy, but lately I stopped exercise. I have continued to run around at school though and play sport there. But my hip joint recently started to hurt when I ran anywhere. Then when I tried to kick a soccer ball I noticed my lower back was starting to hurt to. Then after running around more, my knee joint started to hurt too. I have know idea what this could be from and the pain is not leaving. Advice on what this could be and how to get rid of it?? THANKS! :)
Severe Back and knee pain due to aging. How about Deemark Dard mukti? My mom has severe back and knee pain.. doctors say it is because of aging... we tried many treatment and oils... Saw the deemark dard mukti oil ad...Can anyone help me to know the performance of this oil...
Knee and Lower Back Pain? I am a 16 year old male and I have had back and knee pain for the past year. I haven't really thought much about the pain up until now -- for me, painful knees while walking was basically a daily routine. Unfortunately, I am now concerned about my knees and lower back because pain has started to worsen. I haven't really been active all summer until now with running and all, but I am not so sure that has everything to do with it. I do believe I have Leg-length Discrepancy (different sized-legs), I just haven't gotten into an orthopedic doctor yet... nonetheless, I read that lower pain and knee pain can be the result of the discrepancy. But I am also concerned that I may have arthritis in my knee... everytime I bend my knee I feel a pop (but you can't hear the pop). Occasionally, my knee will also crack. I always have pain when I am standing and walking/jogging/running. I can't stand up straight (probably because of the discrepancy) so I have a habit of bending my left leg / knee when I am standing. Interestingly, when I run/jog, the pain in my knee worsens. I just came in from a 15 min walk/jog, and right now my knees are aching and I feel like I have a pulling pain... thoughts? I am trying to convince my parents to take me to the doctor, but they blame because I haven't been doing anything all sumer... of course... but I do believe their is something wrong because I've had lower back/knee pain for a year, if not, longer. my knee feels like it is bruised inside...
Fell in Walgreens. Bruised knee and back pain. Can I sue? I'm 18 years old. Today I walked into Walgreens after it had been raining. The front of Walgreens is carpeted however, once touching the non carpeted floor, I slipped and went knee first onto the floor and it resulted in my knee swelling and bruising as well as broken skin. It pains to walk. That happened earlier today and now my lower back is hurting as im trying to go to sleep. I got a claim number from the store just incase the problem ended up being worst than a bruise. I'm in a lot of pain. I tried walking around the store to finish my shopping and i finally got it done but i had to limp because it hurt. I bought an elastic brace from Walgreens and put that on which brought down swelling. I was told by my cashier i could sue for slip and fall. Do i have a good case? Thank you so much! Well I didnt fake it. I was surrounded by employees shortly after and one say me 'disappear' when i hit the floor. Plus wouldnt their security cameras see that it wasnt fake? What about the pain im experiencing though?
could compensating for my left arm cause back pain? 5 years ago my left arm was almost severed overseas and if i try and lift anything heavy with that arm i have pain, so for the past few years i have only been using my right arm to lift just about anything with weight to it. lately i have been getting bad back pain in the middle and right side of my back and also right knee pain could the compensating for my left arm be putting more pressure on my back and knee and causing the pain?
I have back and knee pain, should I start smoking weed? I have back and knee pain, I'm 19 years old and I dropped out of school at 16 to do construction... I did that for 2 and a half years and now I stalk shelves at no frills ( i had to quite construction because of back pain) I have been stalking shelves at no frill for 6 months now and since then I have got knee pain. I talked to a friend about it and he said I should start smoking weed to ease the pain. I have smoked weed when I was 13 to 17 years old. I was stupid back then hanging out with gangsters and sh!t... but I was thinking can smoking weed help my back & knee pain? And how would this effect my future? Because in the next 2-3 years I want to get my G.E.D and go into law school to become a cop. So if I want to become a cop can I still apply for medical weed? I tried pain killers but they don't work for me and they only make it worse by giving me headaches... Also when I was younger I use to steal and do illegal things (but never been caught) so my record is still clean thank god BUT my family knows I use to steel and smoke weed a lot and they where very disappointed in me and it made me feel like sh!t... And I was thinking if I do get medical weed they might be disappointed in me again and I don't want that to happen because that makes me feel like sh!t... so what do I do??? Someone please help me out here.
Felt a pop and extreme pain in the back of my knee, now badly bruised? also, If I over stretch the knee or do something where i have to put pressure on my knee, I get very sharp shooting pain going across the knee cap... Any ideas?
Lower hamstring/ back of knee pain!? Hi :) I'm a 400m hurdler and recently I've had pain on the inside of my left knee. It feels like it is inside the hard bit when you tense your knee. It hurts more when I stretch my hamstring and I can often feel it later in a track session. I thought that it had gone away but it seems to keep coming back. Does anyone have any idea what this is? Thanks :D
What kind of exercises for weight loss can a person do with severe back & knee pains? I eat right, not too much food, no sweets, oil or salt. I know that weight loss comes from BOTH eating right AND exercise. So I need to have some exercises I can do. I don't need to have people telling me to just eat right.
Back pain going through my knees to my feet ? So I've had back pain for about a month & finally went to the dr & did xrays, & now I have to get an MRI cuz the dr said my disks are slipping. & I woke up this morning not even able to get out of bed because my knees & back were hurting so bad. & now my feet are hurting really bad. Is this from my back getting worse or is it something totally different ?
Severe knee, ankle, and back pain? For years I have been experiencing a dull pain in my knees every so often. Usually while resting or sitting for to long. Now, it's getting worse. My knee pain has became so severe that I wake up in the middle of the night and have to move my knees just to get them to stop hurting, it hurts to move them but it is the only thing I can do. I have tried arthritis creams. I have even had a moment where I woke up and for 30 minutes I couldn't walk. I would get up and as soon as I took a few steps my knees would collapse under me. I kept getting up and kept falling. My back has also gotten worse. I wake up in the middle of the night and have to stretch out or lay on my back until I wake up again and have to go back to my original position. I don't know how important it is but I also have been having problems with my stomach. I can be very hungry but after I eat example half of a small fry I am so full. I feel nauseous and tired right after eating. I can hardly sleep at night. I have been a vegetarian for 2 years but I try to get as much protein and vitamins as I can. With such a small apetite and because how I feel after eating. What do you guys think it could be? I go to the doctor monday.
Knee/Hip/Lower back pain and tingling in the feet ? I run a lot, however recently (last 5 months) i have not been able to run aswell. Back in the summer i started to get knee pain in my left knee, when I sat down it would feel like someone was stabbing me the back of my handstring, and when I ran/walked I got a pain in the inside of my lower left leg and pain in the very low left part of my back it felt like my whole leg needed clicking. Then it went away for a bit i could still feel were i use to have the pain and now its happening in my right knee but doesnt hurt as much, i can still run on it but have mild pain through out. If it helps i am 17 years old female. Could it be growing?? decrease or increase in bone density? my knees growing out because they have become more pointy. I dont want to go to a doctor because they will tell me to stop running for a month or even months and i want to get really fast before going to uni so i can make it in the athlectics team?? can anyone help???
At 26 what are some possible reasons for back & knee problems? I'm 26 and quite frankly there is something patently wrong with me -as ive been told by a few middle aged people at my work. i often have severe back and knee pains. even when i bend down sometimes i feel agony in my back. also when go running normally after about 2 miles i will start to feel shooting pains in the top of my back/base of my neck. at present the best answer i've had to my queries is that i do not walk/run correctly. a PT at my gym said i am probably coming down heavily on my heels and this sends tremors (is that right word) right up my legs and up my spine- basically causing a heavy impact in that area. another possibility is that i weightlift and i try and lift near enough as heavy a weight as i can (well almost). could this be damaging my back/lower body?? is this right? what is likely to be reason for bad knee/back pain? what can i do to remedy it? i've been trying some yoga and pilates and also i've been really trying to build up my core muscle strength aswell- hopefully this will improve my posture and strengthen my lower body??
Back Of Knee Pain.? Left Side? Okay so I'm 18 years old and a little overweight. I'm not lazy, and I haven't had any surgery, or bed rest. & no history of blood clotting in my family. Anyways, I've been having random, mild pains behind my left knee, and sometimes my right leg. I don't think I have DVT as it comes and goes and is never severe, when I prop my legs up it helps a lot. & there's no swelling, redness or warmth. It all started last week when I walked up a steep hill, I was stretching my legs as I walked and then my muscles startEd twitching. I know I should see a Doctor, but my mom thinks I'm crazy since I got diagnosed with Anxiety and Tachecardia. I've had everything wrong with me, except my doctor says I'm perfectly healthy. Im a hypochondriac I suppose, and I'm starting to think I'm making myself feel the pain since I started reading about DVT. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Pain in the Back of Left Knee? I've been having soccer practices every Mondays and Wednesdays. The pain began a couple weeks ago. I started having this pain in the back of my left knee and at first, I thought I had pulled my calf muscle, but then I realized the pain was in the back of my knee. Every time I jump and land or whenever I bend or extend it all the way it feels really tight and there's a little bit of pain. I'm not sure where the pain is coming from but I've been doing some research and I'm pretty sure it's from the popliteus muscle. (?) I have also been elevating and icing my knee whenever I get the chance. Should I be using a knee brace? Should I go see a doctor or is this something I shouldn't be worried about?
Lower back pain and knee pain? OK, so I have a really bad problem... My boyfriend has been having this pain for about four days but the second day he started to feel lower back pain, all of a sudden his knee started to hurt and sometimes his ankle. He is having a really hard time walking and we do why all of a sudden this pain started coming. I have been reading about it online but I wanna know if there is anything I can do in the meantime to relieve his pain??? It has been very stressful for us, he describes the pain in his knee as a pinching pain. It's horrible and we have to wait another week for the doctors!
Lot of back and knee pain!?! I'm only 18!? I have normally had a mild knee or back pain every now and then since I turned about 15. But it was always off and on and only in quick flashes of pain, so I just took it for what my mother was telling me (Growing pains) and left it at that. But now I have been having more of a chronic pain in both my back and knees at the same time, mostly when I'm at work. I work as a cashier at Chick-Fil-A and I have been there for a year now (a year this month) but the pain just started to get like this a few weeks ago. It's gotten to the point that I can't even bend down to stock sauces without having such bad pain in my knees I have to stand right back up and sit down for a minute. With my back it's almost always in pain now! It does seam to get worse at work though... But this only started a few weeks ago, when the knee pain got so bad. That's why I think they might be related in some way as to why I'm having so much pain. Please help me!!!!!!! Things that might help: - I'm 5'6 -175 lbs (working on getting that down) - Female - I am not on any new meds that might cause this - I've looked in my family history and didn't find anything about chronic knee or back pains

Knee/foot/back pain walking on concrete floors all day. Shoe suggestions? I started working at Home Depot a few months ago, and within a month started experiencing knee pain, as well as lower back and foot pain. I assume this is from walking on concrete floors all day. I've tried a few different shoes and insoles but I'm still having problems. I've read lots of guidelines online for how to pick out good shoes, but I REALLY need some specific brand and/or shoe recommendations. I don't want to spend a fortune on them because with my work, shoes are dirtied and sometimes torn within a few hours at work, but I really do need something that will help with this knee pain. I feel 80 and I'm still in my twenties! Anyone who works in a similar environment, on their feet all day, on concrete floors, moving heavy objects around, please help me out here and be as specific as possible. Thank you!
Back and knee pain in teenage girl? I'm 16 and have had pretty bad knee pain for about a year now. My doctor says it is just because of growing and also because my outer thigh is stronger than my inner thigh because I run, but I've been doing physical therapy for a year and the pain hasn't improved. Also, a few days ago I started experiencing lower back pain. I thought it was just a temporary thing and it would go away soon but it seems to only be getting worse. It hurts the most when I bend over and then straighten back up. Any ideas as to what this could be about or what I could do to help it? I feel like I am very young to be experiencing all of these injuries... Thank you!
