What could be causing my lower left side back pain? I have been in severe, crippling lower left side back pain for over a month now. The pain killers aren't working, I can't bend over to do anything without being in pain, and the xray revealed nothing. I can't sit in my chair at work without being in pain. I have done NOTHING to injury my back. What are some possible things that could be causing my crippling lower back pain? Thanks.

Severe pain in lower left side of back. What could it be? I do have a history of kidney stones on the right side. This pain is just as low in the back, only on the left side. The pain is steady and isn't moving anywhere. I am in tremendous pain and there's nothing I can do to make it lessen at all! What is in that area of the body that could be causing this? I am in SO MUCH pain! I'm only 24 and in otherwise good health. I'm getting over the flu and just had an IUD inserted about 6 days ago.

32 weeks pregnant and lower left side back pain? I am 32 weeks and 4days with my first child. I have had back pain on my left side and it hurts to get up and move around. I took Tylenol P.M last night to try to help me sleep. What could this be caused from? Any suggestions
Lower back pain (left side only)? For a few years I have been having lower left side back pain. It's usually worse when I sit in a hard chair or lie on a hard surface. Im 21 and Im 7 months pregnant (which Im sure is aggravating it worse) but I had this problem before I was pregnant also.. Kidney pain lower left side of my back? I am a very healthy 17 year old, I have no other problems, It is my lower left side of my back(not at all on my right). I have had it for quite some time now about a year and its a dull pain and when I drink more water it goes away. I don't see how it could be that bad because im healthy and 17. It's not like im super dehydrated I drink water a bit, but I need extra for it to go away( to the point where I have to go to the bathroom often) theres no burning or anything associated with kidney stones except slight dull pain Anyhow is this muscle or kidney pain and how to get rid of it?. And is it bad like I need to see a doctor, I already did and he said it could be a few things and if it got worst to go back but its not really worse it just comes and goes with a dull pain and last should I sleep in a different position. Pain on lower left side of my back. What is that? Sunday evening I ate some fried chicken and broasted potatoes. It didn't agree with me. Everything came out. Lower Left Side Back Pain? What can be caused for lower left side back pain? It's not the middle of the back nor the spine, so I know it's not that. But, it feels like I have a bruise there or something. But, no marks or anything around the area. I'm 12, and my mom is a nurse. I asked her, she didn't know and shrugged it off. Lower left side back pain (Don't Konw How I Got It, What Caused it, Is Even That At All ?)? On Monday April 6, 2009 out of a sudden I got Lower left side back pain(Hope that is what it is, it feel like it coming from there) It like about 7:12pm-7:18 area when it happened out of a sudden. Before this On Mach 9 it was sunny and windy that day and I caught a cold, that is Bronchitis like, but it not Bronchitis at ll. I had a runny nose that kind of stuffed up, had to use nose spry to clear it. The stuff when down to my throat, and I had to caought it out. Right now I have a little of that left But nothing from the nose i going down there anymore. But still feel the need to caught some time, but it not every like every 5 min.. I am taking Chinese meds for that. the only time I had Bronchitis was back in 1995 in November, the day after the movie Goldeneye cam out, when I was 22 years old. I don't know could that have cause it. With this Lower left side back pain, I know I can't do sit ups at all, I will feel the pain. Even getting up from bed in a sitting positionI will feel it. I did take two 325mg Aspin pills(waWalgreen'swn), in hoping it will go away. Bending foward will sitting on a couch it hurt in the start, but now doing that sitting postion it do hurt that much, the feel of it is almost like next to nothing, it still has not 100% gone away will sitting and bending forwad(like a group of people do when talking to each other). Well I'm still hoping it will go away forever by itself after taking those two Aspin. If I need to take another one then I'll do it in the morning. What should I do or don' t with this pain that could be lower left side back pain. I'm a person who hates pain itself, this nothing something I like at all. I'm asls a person who don't like problems like heath problems that normal, but it a big deal either happening to me or family members at all. That can ruin a person's days or for weeks to come. For me i worry too much right away. Even my friend say that over react with first word being said like a family member's hart being too fast. For me that would ruin my day I worry right away and hope it nothing, But it would make not care about the TV shows I watch, there a new epsoide, a new DVD out today that I want to buy and other kinds of things. It just take over all those, until the final say is it nothing it back to normal from all the tests and xrays(if needed). So any useful help would great, I have trought about going to the hospital to get it checked, I don't a have family doctor picked out. It is a little red down there, but not major. The red is more like the color of scratch. I checked it by the mirror. I still hope it really not a major problem at all. As I said before I'm the kind that don't like pain it self and things that make people worry, and don't care about things they like or want to do until it is 100% over and it is not even a little bit of a life changing thing. the pinkest red thing didn't come right away, i did rub down there with hand in fist, like massaging it, but it did't hurt. all the site thjat about lower left side back pain does not say anything about the kiney, when I did a search for this through yahoo and google 4/7/2009 Came back from neighborhood clinic that is part of the City of San Francisco. I did not see a doctor, because that all filled up. Did see a nurse, who asked me what is the problem. I told her about at the start of it, how it hurt and the kind of positon that hurt, likr bendig foward well sitting and can't even do sit up and the other pains. At the end I asked is a kiney problem, she said no, and the kiney is alittle further up from where my pain is. She also checked my red sprt, I told her that I make fist and massage it brfore, it was even red Last of all I asked waht sould take.She told me ibproven. So there should not be any kind of kieny pronlems. I have to go bak thereon Thursday to see a doctor.

bad lower left side back pain but no contractions? i'm 37 weeks and 2 days today and today i've had more back pain and cramps/contractions than i have throughout the whole pregnancy. at my last appt which was monday, she said i was 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced...tonight anyway that i turn my lower left side back hurts so bad i cant go to sleep...just no contractions or cramps..but when i stand up i feel alot more pelvic pressure. just wondering if i could start having early labor soon? thanks in advance ladies! oh and when i lay down, he is VERY active...his kicks hurt alot now!
5weeks preg. Worsening pain in left side of abdomen, and lower back pain on left side. Just got back from ER? I am 5 weeks pregnant and today i started feeling a little pain in the left side of me, down near my ovary/tube area. It started off dull but got a little worse with some lower back ache aswell. I went to the hospital and they said its too early to tell if its ectopic or not and to go to my doctor in a couple of days to organise a blood test and early ultrasound. Has anyone ever had the same symptoms?? Could it just be gas pain? im now starting to feel aching back and legs as i do when i have period pain..

I should have been ovulating starting last Saturday until Yesterday (give or take). I have never had this pain before. I am also having some lower back pain on the opposite side. Is this normal? Lower Left side pain. Please read and give advice? I have acute bronchitis. The last few days I started to get very bad lower left side pains. I thought it was just due to all the strain of hard coughing. However, yesterday I coughed hard and I felt a POP in my side and it temporarily went numb, then felt like someone had stabbed and kicked me there. SO bad I couldnt stand straight. I have had lower back, left side rib pain for 1 1/2 years. Why? I have been to the doctor to see why I am constantly having lower back left rib pain. I have been put on muscle relaxers, had an x-ray and no results. Another doctor said an exercise might help. The pain is constant, not helped by standing, sitting, stretching, sleeping. Pain in lower left side of back? 29weeks.? ever since i was about 25 weeks or so, i've been getting this pain on the lower left side of my back, by my hip. i notice that its only if i sleep on a hard bed, or if i walk too much for the day, it really hurts and i never get it on my right side. Pain left side/lower back, what is it? Okay, I know I'm not getting a doctors diagnoses here but I've already complained to my doctors and they are not saying much.. My lower left side of my back has been hurting a little over a week now. At first I thought I slept wrong but it got so bad over the weekend, whenever I laughed, walked, ran or moved around. The next day was a little better and the day after that was a lot better. I still went to urgent care because people said it could be kidney stones or and infection. The doctor did a urine test and said everything looked fine. Now I do have ovarian cysts on my left side so she just said the pain could be caused by the cyst and sent me off with painkillers. Now the pain is back and it woke me up in the middle of the night. On top of that I've had 3 cold sores and am on my second term of being sick with a cold in less than a month. Not to mention I've been extremely tired and week, more than I ever felt in my life. I finished off a whole series of antibiotics and am still sick. What's the deal? I'm half tempted to go the ER but I don't want to go if it's nothing.

I have a dull and sometimes sharp pain on my left side. (lower back pain - groin)? It starts at my lower back (left side). Then one day the pain may be in my groin and then eventually down to my left testicle. Then the pain can go back to my lower back, then maybe the groin, back to the testicle. There is no rhyme or reason but it's a dull and then sometimes sharp pain. Other times I may be ok but I will eventually feel pain on my left side. Here are a few other symptoms: The pain magnifies when lying down (especially in my testicle). My left testicle swells up at times. My Urologist has some theories but I'm hoping to narrow these down to know what the actual problem is? He first thought epdidymitis which is an infection of the left testicle but I didn't have fever, chills or nausea? So I'm not satisfied with that diagnosis. Then he thinks maybe kidney stones? Man I hope not? But here again, I don't have blood in the urine so I'm not so sure this is right? Plus I had an ultrasound done and it didn't seem to show up? This has been going on for 2 weeks. I am 50 years old. Any other thoughts? Constructive advice and stories are appreciated. Thanks very much.

Nothing too severe, just mild pains. I haven't been very active or exercising lately, I should note. I've been having constipation and strained urination also for about the same amount of time. I've seen several different doctors who gave me UTI tests, urinalysis, and urine cultures, which ALL turn out to be negative. Yet I still have discomfort when or after urinating. I've had swollen lymph nodes in my neck/throat near my trachea for about the same amount of time and I saw a doctor about this too who just felt around and said that it was viral and will go down. It has gone down but is still there, it's movable and rubber-like to the touch. This hasn't really ever happened to me before and I'm worried. What could this be? I could really use some suggestions as I'm getting frustrated with doctors constantly dismissing this. I noticed I lost weight around my stomach area, but when i eat it gets bloated and full like it has air or gas inside. I'm so stressed about this and it's getting in the way of my holidays. Could this be a pancreatic problem? Please help! Thanks. I'm only 18.

Pain on my lower back and left side? ok i have some pain on my lower left back and my left side. i been gasy lately and on my left side it feels like something inside is hurting maybe an organ or something? and i have been drinking coke and also some food like chicken and tacos and poptarts. is this serious? also it hurst when i use the bathroom. well when i do #2. can anyone tell me what it is and what i should do?

Pain on the left lower side of hip/back.? okay so i've had this pain on the lower left side of my back or near my hips and its been hurting for about 3 or 4 days now. it hurts sometimes when i try to walk normally or slightly twist. i'm starting to think that its maybe kidney stones but i'm not even sure where the kidney is located.. i don't drink soda so i've been trying to drink a lot of water which doesn't seem to help much nor does backpain mediation. i'm pretty sure the pain isn't a cramp..so what could this be? i'm 15 by the way and my mom won't let me go get a check up unless its major.

Im 19 and have been having this pain in the lower left side of my back on the outside not by my spine kind of where a love handle is, and also pain in the front on the left side where my ovary is...went to the dr for pain there in july where i was told i didnt have a cyst jst really constipated..Im on birth control, have irritable bowel syndrome, and had a pap in october which was good along with std testing also good took 2 preggo tests both neg im having no urinary problems and am somewhat regular no other symptoms im a college student and have no health insurance so yea..i drink pretty much water all day i have a cup of coffee in the morning thats about all..i can touch the areas where there's pain and it doesnt hurt..pain is worse when im sitting down..anyone have any help for me? i am worried...
lower back pain left side? I started with a minor ache in the lower left side of my back. I though it might be a kidney infection and started treating with cranberry pills. The pain has gotten worse and is at its worse when up and moving around will kind of catch. I m not sure if I should go to the doctor for a uti or more like a bone and joint for back injury even though I have done nothing to have caused injury?
7 months pregnant with lower left side back pain? Last few weeks I've been having pain on my lower left back. If I sit or lay down for more than 5 minutes that's usually when it tends to be more intense. It gets so bad at times I can not put pressure down on my left leg. I have a dr. appointment tomorrow morning but I was just wondering if any other pregnant ladies have experienced this type of pain and what it turned out to be. I'm having acute pain on lower left side and spreading to the back of the same side because of trapped wind? This pain stays for 2 or 3 days. Pain increase while walk. I usualy take mint oil tablets and 1 or 2 tabs of Simethicone 125 mg but these things are not helping to get relief from pain or release gas. This is very frequent problem, once in every week or 10 days. Dr. is not helpfull either. Please help me. It's effecting my daily life. I rarely eat junk or processed food.
Chronic lower left back and left side pain? For the last year and a half i have had mild to severe pain in my lower left back and left front abdomen side. For months it was something that came and went, but for the last couple months it has been constant. I have been to 3 different doctors and the ER 4 times for it.. they have done everything from multiple CT scans (with and without contrast), an ultrasound, copious amounts of blood work... and NOTHING, they all show no tumors, growths, or anything wrong with me or my blood work. It is so frustrating to be in this much pain for this long and to have people shrug their shoulders. Now I will say that I dont eat very well, and I (as hard as it is to admit it) rarely ever drink water. Could my lack of water or my poor eating really cause such a large amount of pain and for over a year and a half? Can you think of anything else that may be wrong with me? At this point i just need some sort of direction to go with this because obviously im not getting any better. Thank you in advance!

Little over 28 weeks pregnant menstrual type cramps and back pain on lower left side? The back pain has been pretty constant since about 12 pm, the menstrual type cramps are coming and going! Lower back pain, left side, day of hangover? Well, the other night I was with my friends and I had 4 corrs lights and 2 miller lights. I woke up the next day with a somewhat bad hangover, I just felt a little nausous, but I didn't vomit. Then later that night, I started to pass really nasty smelling gas and had a stomach ache. bloatedness, pains in lower abdomen and left side lower back pain and breast pain, weak and tired? hi i have been getting lower back pain on the left side which is affecting my buttocks and the back of my legs i wake up every morning throbbing in the back and cant get comfortable (wake up really aching) i cant stay in bed longer then 6 - 8hrs as i start to really ache and wake up in the night needing to urinate and also i have been suffering with bloatedness and pains in left lower abdomen i have been getting really irregular periods as i am bleeding for 15-20 days at a time every month and i feel tired and weak all the time have no energy sometimes to even walk, feeling like i am unwell. I have also been getting pains in my left side of my breast and my left sided ribs feel bruised, when taking deep breathes it hurts my chest, i also have been having a itchy back and dry skin and chest pain and everytime i exercise i get really bad heartburn also my appetite isnt as good as before im not feeling like i want to eat some days im ok and most of the time i dont fancy anything been having these problems for the past 4-5 months now, dont no whats going on is there anybody that can help or who has experienced the same problems please help!! thanks
throbbing pain in lower left side of back? I've had this pain before but it's been a while since. Sharp lower back pain on left side that has migrated to rear and thigh muscles? About a month ago at track try-outs I wasn't completely warm while running the 100m and after we were finished the lower left side of my back felt a little tight with a bit of a dull pain. All over Christmas break it had this small dull pain that would flare up if I sat in a certain position. Then, a few days ago at track practice, while sprinting my back just began burning in pain-it felt like someone was stabbing me whenever I moved it. I went to the doctor and she said the muscle was most likely just inflamed and she prescribed some anti-inflammatory's which seemed to work fairly well. However, once I was done with them, the pain slowly started coming back but now it seems to have radiated into my buttock as a tightening sensation when I say sitting or immobile for periods at a time. Also when I sit, my left thigh begins to get this dull pain and it feels like its slowly heating up from the inside and it only goes away when I get up and walk around. It wouldn't bother me too much except this all began to happen after I had finished the prescribed anti-inflammatory's. Any ideas as to what it could be other than an inflamed muscle in my lower back?
Pain/tightness/numbness in leg, hip and lower back on left side only, 18 weeks pregnant? I'm 18 weeks pregnant today and have for almost 2 weeks been getting a sharp pain and tugging sensation around my lower back, buttocks, hip and outer thigh on the left hand side. If I touch my thigh I can't feel anything on the outer part it's completely numb. It comes and goes and it will come on really suddenly then the pain will go as quick as it came but leave a while for the feeling to come fully back. My mum said it may be the baby resting on a nerve but I thought he'd still be too little to do this or cause a major affect from doing it? has anyone else had this? and what could be the cause?

Abdominal, pelvic and lower back pain? If I bend over, eat something or do nothing I am having abdominal pain around my belly button but that is not constant, however, the pelvic pain and lower left side back pain is pretty constant. I felt sick on Saturday but then got really sick on Sunday night (bathroom upset) and also Monday morning. I have Endo and have gone off BC pills because they were not helping and have been on so many medications my specialist is stumped so I am going med free right now and this is month 2 now. I Am on day 19 of my cycle and my cycle is 30 days pretty much clockwork. I do feel when I ovulate and I did get sick almost everyday when I was off medications, hence going on the BC pills. But they caused so many side effects and after being off and on 14 different kinds in the past 5 years nothing worked. I am super sensitive to meds and think I may need to go back to my specialist buy if anyone has any advice or ideas about what is going on please help. The BC pills stopped my constant pain however they all reacted with medication I take for another issue and i cannot stop taking that. I think my month long pain is back because I am no longer on BC pills. I haven't been off BC pills in a year until now and have tried too many off and on during the years. I am PMSing right now.
Pain on lower left side of back? I've been having pains on the lower left side of my back. I've had a kidney stone before, and was thinking perhaps the pain might have been me getting another kidney stone. However, the thought of possibly being pregnant has crossed my mind, as my period was very abnormal this month. Very Unusual Period and lower abdominal pain, left and right side. What can this be? Let me start off by saying I've been taking Loestrin FE 24 for a few months now (off subject but is there a recall of some sort for this birth control?). I got my period sometime last week , i had it for 3 days then it just stopped out of nowhere for about 2 days then it came back for a day or two and now its gone. This is very unusual for me. What does my lower left side back pain (post treated kidney infection) mean? I was recently treated for a kidney infection. I took Levaquin for ten days and there is no more bacteria in my urine. All of my symptoms from the infection are gone except for my left side lower back pain. It is not sharp, it is more dull and internal. It doesn't hurt if I push on it, but more so when I twist my body or take a deep breath. I have noticed that the pain gets a little worse after I have consumed alcohol. Is this pain just my kidney trying to heal? I was planning on just drinking water for awhile and seeing if the pain eventually went away. Please help!

Why do i have Hip and left lower back pain after hernia surgery? I had hernia surgery on the weekend and stayed overnight at the hospital and the next evening I started to feel hip pain on my left side as well as lower back pain when I bend to stand up/down etc. is it because of inflammation or swelling of the repaired hernia because the left side of my groin is where the hernia was and it's close to my left hip and back so maybe the pain is touching those area as well. Any ideas or medical opinions? Will hopefully find out at my follow up appointment in a couple of days.

short bursts of INTENSE lower back/left side pain? for years i have been getting episodes of pain in my lower back on the left side. actually its kind of in the area between my lower back and mid back. it starts in my left side and spreads to my back and even left side of stomach. it lasts usually 30 seconds to three minutes. it is extremely painful, so much that i actually groan in pain and sometimes sweat. it is completely random. i get it from laying down, sometimes while i'm sleeping, sitting, walking, you name it. there's no pattern to it, it just happens. sometimes it happens everyday, sometimes i will go month without getting it. its hard to describe the pain it just hurts a lot. its not a sharp pain, its dull and intense and progressively gets worse. nothing works to get rid of it, except just walking it off. it doesn't feel like a menstrual cramp or charlie horse. i went to the doctor a couple years ago because i noticed when i'm sitting down and i twist my torso to the left, there is a small discomfort/pain in that region. but, of course the doctor just poked around and said it was nothing:/ i don't have health insurance, otherwise i would get it checked out by someone else. not sure if the two are related, i just hope its not a tumor. i thought maybe its my spine pinching something, but its only in that one area so i don't know. please help?
