Exercises for a pinched nerve in hand or arthritis? I was on a walk last Friday, swinging my hands, front to back, as I walked. About 10 minutes into my walk I felt my right arm getting heavy. I tried swinging my arms more to shake it off. After about 3-5 minutes the heaviness went away. I walked for about 30 min. When I got home, I spent about 30 min cracking shelled peanuts with my hand. A few hours later I felt a pain in my thumb area(palm side). The pain felt like it was starting to cramp. When I woke the next morning this thumb area was VERY sore. Cramping feeling. I could not grab anything or make a fist. I do have the start of arthritis in my hands my doctor has told me. I am 48 y/o female. My neighbor tells me it's just arthritis but I think it's more like a pinched nerve. I made a doc appt for Wed., but this is killing me. I've done the ice pack but that only relieves it as long as I keep the ice on. Anyone know any hand exercises I can do? ****I did see the doctor and he confirmed this is a pinched nerve. He got the same thing a few years ago and said he knew it was extremely painful. He said when most sleep at night they sleep with their wrist curved cutting off blood supply. This pinched nerve prolly happened when I was walking but deeply set in while sleeping. I am to wear a carpel tunnel wrist brace while sleeping for the next week. And take Aleeve for the inflammation. He also gave me some other pain meds for during the day. Thanks for any answers.
I have a pinched nerve in my hand.why when i pick up mental does it feel like an electic shock go through it? My fingers tips feel numb and my nails are changeing color. Then I get these electral shocks going through my hand and up to my elbow and to my shoulder. What is causing this?

sharp pain in upper chest/shoulder (rt side) & some numb/weakness in rt arm/hand. Pinched nerve? more serious? I was wondering if anyone has experience with this, a sharp pain in right side upper chest and shoulder, with ajoining pain in back, behind shoulder blade, with occasional pain/numbing or weakness to right arm and hand. Don't know if I just pulled something or if it is more serious. The sharp pain in upper chest/shoulder comes and goes... and is annoying at bedtime. Any help?...
Can a pinch nerve cause hand to fall a sleep? My hand keeps on getting this feeling of like it if you were to lean on it to long to were it would fall a sleep. But Im not doing anything that would do that. My husband thinks it because im at a computer all day long to were my hands are not proper on the keyboard but I do have some isues with pinch nevers in my neck so Im not sure what it could be and i dont have the money for a Dr at all.

Pinched Nerve in Wrist/Hand - plz help!!? Hey, I yesterday managed to "pinch a nerve" whilst answering numerous phone calls. Anyway i now half of my hand feels numb and in "pins and needles". I would really appreciate any information and help on this matter, especially if you have experienced this yourselves. - Do you know of any physical therapy excercises that might help it go away (and i hope it does!!!)? -I had a quick look online and found that my case is very similar to carpal tunnel syndrome apart from that it affects my last 3 fingers, and the carpal tunnel nerve in the wrist does not control the pinky. So my guess is that i have squeezed another nerve, most probably the one that runs along the funny bone in your elbow. Everytime i bend my forearm against my bicep, i feel like someone just prodded me right in the "funny bone spot". Anyway its starting to worry me a bit and im also getting very frustrated. Will my pinched nerve in my hand heal? Ok A couple of days ago I hit my hand in a sharp corner(top part below the index finger), and now whenever i touch the spot i hit it like numbness shoots into my index finger, kinda on the inside of it so im just wondering will i have to get surgery or will it heal on its own b.c it is really bugging me, oh and will anything help numb the numbness like ice or heat, i tried both and they temp. help it for a short time then whent back to normal. anything to help it would be awsome

Just over a year ago I pinched a nerve in my left wrist-- can I still be having pain from that? When I pinched my nerve my hand started uncontrollably shaking, but it got better after we got a wrist brace. It never really hurt though. Now everytime I've been moving my wrist too much (usually during work. I work at Dairy Queen and there's a lot of wrist movement-- especially when making blizzards) it just starts hurting, and the only way to make the pain subside is by holdinh my wrist with my other hand or putting on that same wrist brace from when I pinched my nerve. Are these two incedents realated to each other?

Does anyone have shoulder, elbow,and hand pain, but is not a pinched nerve in the neck? I have a herniated disc at c7 but not pinching any nerves, i still have a lot of problems in my right shoulder, like paining and in the elbow and my hand hurts and middle finger and thumb twitches, my hand is always freezing and color in purple, i seen the neurosergeon but he said he doesn't know so i now have to see the orthopedic surgeon again, just like to know what it could be it hurts and bothers me a lot, i feel like i am going crazy. please help
No treatment for pinched nerve? For the past week and a half i have been getting pain up my middle finger, little finger or up the outer part of my lower forearm when putting pressure on my hand. I have also been getting numbness/pins and needles in the fleshy bit of my palm, on the outer(little finger) side. After leaving it a week and having no improvement i went to the doctors yesterday and she said she thinks its a pulled muscle and pinched nerve in my hand. This doctor however is not one of the best in my practice, and unless you specify a specific doctor don't necessarily know who you have till you get there. I told her i am on a computer all day at college typing and then go to work for 5 hours a night where i do a lot of heavy lifting. I asked if i can get any kind of support to help treat my hand but she just said as iv had it a week basically do nothing n it should hopefully get better by itself? Is this right, just carry on as normal and ignore it?
How do I treat a pinched nerve? Every morning I am wake to my hand being numb and a throbbing pain in my thumb. I believe I have a pinched nerve and have read suggestions on treating it such as heat and stretching the nerve and muscle. But how do I know where exactly to apply heat and to stretch? My arm/hand goes numb...is it a pinched nerve? I will wake up several times during the night to my whole left arm & hand being asleep. I've never had this problem before. If I sit and hold my arm a certain way it'll start to go back to sleep after I'm up. Also, during the daytime I feel a very dull throbbing sensation down my arm to my middle & ring finger mostly & sometimes including my index finger. It makes my hand very weak. I think it might be a pinched nerve in my back. There is a spot between my spine and shoulder blade thats about 5-6 inches down from neck that aches. It hurts yet feels good to massage it. Could it possibly be a pinched nerve? Or just an inflamed area causing blood flow restriction. Please help. I don't know what to do. I understand sleeping on your arm makes it go numb, but it will do it no matter what position i sleep in. This is why I think its related to nerve & blood flow restriction. I'm a bartender and use this arm to lift the bottles as I pour drinks. I've looked up symptoms of carpal tunnel and it does seem to mimick the symptoms except for the knotted spot that aches in my back shoulder area. Thats why I still think its a nerve pinched.
pinched nerve... been 2 hours? I woke up and my right hand has a pinched nerve, the pinky and ring finger are tingly. I did some research, seems to be the ulnar nerve. Its happened before in my hands and legs when i sleep but this time it isn't going away and its been over 2 hours. I'm just wondering if this is normal and if its going to be ok in like a couple more hours or if i should be worried... anyone have any experience with this? Any advice would be appreciated. Will go to the doctor tomorrow probably if its not better but its 3am right now...
hurt neck!! i think i tend to suffer from a pinched nerve considering my hands fall asleep? but today as i was stretching in my seat as i was on my comptuer i really hurt y neck bad like i head not so much a snap but a weird tear and it scared the hell out oof me if i turn my neck the right it hurts especially if i look down and right and if i try to tilt my head back im in alot of pain did i pinch a never and will it ever go away? i can still sorta fucntion but im annoyed and scared by this what can i do to prevent futher f-u-c-k ups
I have Neck Pinch Nerve, numbness in left hand index finger, no strenght in left hand, any solution? My chiropractor took xrays of my neck last week, said he cannot xray the part of my neck with an xray machine, why would he send me to a hand specialist? My right hand is going numb and my whole arm is weak, do I have a pinched nerve? This all started as a stiff neck caused by looking to the side quickly, then looking back to the front. The pain from that was so bad that I couldnt even pick my head up to get out of bed. There is no swelling or pain, but it feels funny when I touch my finger in certain spots, like electric shocks. I believe I have pinched a nerve in my right thumb. What is the best way to fix it? I was bowling with a brand new ball, recently drlled to match my fingers. I then rolled 12 games in about an hour and a half. After it was done, my thumb was a bit numb, but I figured it was a blister forming. its now 2 days later, I got numbness on half my thumb (though I can determine pressure, pain is not there) WHen I press against where the thumb meets my hand, it explodes into a tingling sensation, which fades when I stop putting pressure. Whats the difference between a pinched nerve and Carpal Tunnel? What are some of the symptoms? My right arm constantly falls asleep, I get this sharp pain that shoots up my arm whenever my hand is moved in a certain direction or if I try to make the number 4. What could this possibly be? My mom says it could be carpal tunnel but my aunt says its a pinched nerve. BTW: I'm going to the neurologist but my appointment isn't until Friday.

pinched nerve somewhere between my neck and hand? i know i have pinched nerve somewhere in my arm. the thing is that i hurt my right wrist and hand 3 weeks. i have go to a specialist tomorrow for it. i have had multiple x-rays done at the hospital and office of the orthopedic dr i am seeing. the dr put me in a cast and i couldn't take the numbness in my right hand and wrist at all. i was losing feeling in my hand, wrist and arm. so i took the cast off of my arm. now there is pain with numbness on the wrist and hand. also there is this huge lump on my wrist. the drs say i have a sprain. two days ago i move my wrist and heard a crack or pop in my right wrist. i have taken pain pills, used heat on my wrist, and even elevated it. nothing seems to work. the pain and numbness are so intense at times i cry. i have been in pain for 3 weeks and it is getting worse. can someone please help me what figure out with my right hand and wrist?

can baby cause a pinch nerve in hand 27 wks preg? about a half hour ago i got a sudden severe pain in my hand i mean it just stiffened up and got real tight and like a 10 on a scale of 1-10. I wasnt even doing anything serious...just eating food as usual lol. How expensive is it to repair a pinched nerve in my neck? I think its getting worse. Originally it was just a tence feeling in my neck, then a very tence feeling plus a muscle twitch, and today its a tence feeling a muscle twitch and a numb spot on my hand that kind of feels like something touching me but its just my nerve goin nuts.

Did I pull a muscle/pinch a nerve in my hand? So a couple days ago the pinky on my left hand started getting kind of numb. It's very faint and I still have feeling in it. I read online that I probably pinched my Ulna nerve or something like that. Probably from being on the computer too much. Now my entire right hand has that faint, dull, faintly tingly, almost numb but not really feeling. As you can tell it's kind of hard to describe. There's also this pain in my wrist area of that arm. Just wondering if the two are connected. I'm kind of a hypochondriac so this is starting to freak me out. This pain also comes a couple weeks after I threw away my old mouse pad that had one of those cushions near the bottom for your wrist.

The weird thing is that I have these electricity feeling zingers shooting everywhere in my body. It's random like one second I get one in my hand, the next in my left legg, then back to the right side of my back. It goes everywhere. I've been told that one nerve being pinched should only affect that area, so now I'm terrified that I'm getting ALS OR MS, or some horrible nerve disease. :( Pinched wrist nerve - help? I had a lot of work to get done on the computer, and ended up with my right hand on the computer mouse for a massive amount of hours. Couldn't even move it afterwards but didn't think any type of damage was actually done other than a bit of stiffness. And well, about 30 minutes ago I took a shower and during it the pain of the pinched nerve in my wrist just exploded. Never had a pinched nerve before, definitely a different kind of pain than I've ever felt =/ Pretty much can't move my right hand at all. For the time being is there anything I can do to relieve the pain or aid it in any way here at home? How long does it take for a pinched nerve to recover? :( Thank you for any advice!

So it started like 3 weeks ago with just diarrhea that I just thought was cause of stress....then this past friday, i was sitting on my couch and my left breast felt like a quick stabbing sensation (less then 10 seconds)....about 45 mins later my left pinki finger and half my left hand went all tingly...i kinda freaked - though i was having a heart attack - made it more scary for me that i am a single mom of a toddler and if i was to have a heart attack no one would know for a couple days and my baby would be here alone......anyways - i looked up stuff online and and checked my blood pressure ( i have a at home blood pressure machine due to having high blood pressure while pregnant and i had to monitor every morning - also had diabetes while pregnant) so saturday morning i went to the doctor - cause my arm was still tingly...they did xrays and other tests and told me i had a pinched nerve in my neck c7-c8...no treatment or meds....and today (sunday) my arm is ok...my diarrhea is worse - and i keep getting a 'funny' pressure feeling on the side of my neck (where u would check ur pulse) is this all from the pinched nerve and the diarrhea is its own thing...or could it all be related..... any help would be great...
Getting strange muscle aches in my arms, perhaps I have pinched nerve in my neck? I've had back problems for a couple years now, and my neck got twisted up somewhat from heavy lifting, but the pain has never spread, but I woke up a few days ago and started getting a deep but dull pain in my arms and hands, and a sort of tingling and numbness. Could a nerve in my neck finally gotten pinched off? Any way to fix it without going to the doctor?
apprantly have pinched nerve in hand? my dog caught me with her big tooth the other day on the hand it sort of knocked it, didnt appear to piece skin but straight away started feeling sort of like a burning sensation and still feels like that 3/4 days later. doctor says could be pinched nerve or somthing but would this cause that feeling of sort of burning tingling?? very worried and need advice as suffer from panick attacks.

I think I have a pinched nerve in my shoulder. My right arm swells, elbow, fingers. Can this go away? The more I try to use my right hand or arm the worse it gets. I have a pinched nerve and need to know how to get rid of it..? Im pretty sure I have a pinched nerve either in the neck or back, not sure. I get headaches almost every day at certain periods of the year. Recently I get muscle twitches, usually in the right eye lid, but I also get them in the leg, arm, and shoulder. Also, my pinky and ringfinger on my left hand have been numb for the past month and a half, causing a loss of strength in grip. Im in good shape, so it has to be something in my back (I also have scoliosis and have had spinal meninjitus as a baby) so Im certain its in the back. Im just trying to find ways to fix this, because it seems like its just going to get worse. I dont want to use chiropractors as most can't be trusted and a lot of the time it makes it worse ( My grandma is a good example) Any other ways to get rid of this? I heard massage therapy works better than going to a chiropractor. Anyone know anything about that?

Pinched nerve? From doing...? Can you get a pinched nerve in the hand/arm you use when masturbating? I use my left arm and it feels kind of numb with pain that feels like carpel tunnel in the hand and isn't super painful but I know it's there. I do it frequently and use that arm and seem to think with the repetitive motions it could be a pinched nerve. I also have acid reflux sometimes and it flares up when I eat late. I had indian food at 2am last night then tried to go to sleep. Couldn't sleep, the pinched nerve in my arm and acid reflux bubbling felt like I was having a heart attack haha, but I tend to over exaggerate I've been a hypochondriac for most of my life the doctor always says I have paranoia lol. Snowboard wrist injury. How can I take care of a pinched nerve? I recently fell on my left hand wrist while snowboarding and I've been having a tingly sensation in my pinky and ring finger as well as the "cushion" area under them. I have read some websites and I'm pretty sure I pinched a nerve called the "ulnar nerve". There is no swelling or pain of any kind, and I only get the tingly sensation palm side.
