Pinched nerve treatment? I have a pinched nerve in both of my elbows and my neurologist told me to wear an elbow brace for 3 months. Is there any other form of treatment besides this maybe a faster one?
What is the best/fastest treatment for a pinched nerve in the neck? I had been begging my boyfriend to go camping all summer and he finally gave in, but pinched a nerve in his neck while sleeping. He has been in agony for weeks, and as a professional athlete this could really affect his work. I feel horrible! Any suggestions for quick/ thorough recovery would be greatly appreciated. Intelligent responses only please...
Pinched Nerve? Treatment? I was playing some PlayStation, I was playing a game where you have to tap the x button repeatedly, after a couple of times I felt a intense almost sting like sensation in my thumb. Now every time i put pressure on my left side of my thumb I get the same sensation. It hurts and is very irritating. Thank you for any help.

Pinched Ulnar Nerve treatment? ? What should i do to prevent further damage and about how long will it take to heal? I diagnosed it. I don't have health insurance or much money so i don't go to doctors.
What is treatment for a pinched nerve? My calf feels like theres a pinched nerve. I"m not sure. What's the treatment for a pinched nerve in the leg? I think I'll do at home treatment unless it gets worse or feels this way for a while. Thanks for your answers Oh so asking my husband to massage it, is a good thing? :) Wasn't expecting that but, no I don't feel it in my butt, but I do have some lower back pain. I do drink milk, probaly not enough though. Maybe try taking caluim pills? now swollen or discolored
No treatment for pinched nerve? For the past week and a half i have been getting pain up my middle finger, little finger or up the outer part of my lower forearm when putting pressure on my hand. I have also been getting numbness/pins and needles in the fleshy bit of my palm, on the outer(little finger) side. After leaving it a week and having no improvement i went to the doctors yesterday and she said she thinks its a pulled muscle and pinched nerve in my hand. This doctor however is not one of the best in my practice, and unless you specify a specific doctor don't necessarily know who you have till you get there. I told her i am on a computer all day at college typing and then go to work for 5 hours a night where i do a lot of heavy lifting. I asked if i can get any kind of support to help treat my hand but she just said as iv had it a week basically do nothing n it should hopefully get better by itself? Is this right, just carry on as normal and ignore it?
pinched nerve? Can a bad blood draw that resulted in a hematoma for weeks(5) could also cause a pinched nerve? Cause there is burning sensation and muscle pain in the arm, esp when I rest on my elbow and I exert my arm like carrying stuff and drive. If so, does it require any treatment or will it go with time. I'm applying pain med, and warm compress at night. Does the blood clot also get absorbed with time? Cause I feel a some bumps on my arm and wondering if I stop the heat treatment will they perm. sit there!? Thanks
What is best treatment for pinched neck nerve w/pain extending to shoulder blades, etc? Was diagnosed few mos ago w/pinched neck nerve w/pain to shoulder blades, down side to lower back, also have numbness in some fingers. Going to physical therapy 3x week since, but all do is neck turns & walking; no better. Have had to stop working too. Why is this not making it get better? PT woman tells me takes a lot of time, but how long, as ins stopped paying too?? It is very, very painful, hard to sit or sleep. need input from qualified people, not quacks. told not to ice it at all. she also toldme is cause my muscles are weak but MD told me ahve great muscle strength, never had this issue before. going to see md end of week. pt lady well experienced but has no patience, wont answer questions, tend to put blame on patients, not fair. are no other ones in our area at all, so stuck with this one !!
What is the best treatment for a pinched nerve? I am undergoing Chiropractic care and it has helped the pain. However, I had to go 3 times a week for three weeks and twice a week for 9 weeks - it has cost an absurd amount of money and they are saying even after all this I will not be on 'maintenance' treatments yet. I was told I have Phase 2 throughout my spine. I feel fine now but I don't ever want to experience that level of pain again so want to work on my backs health - get it completely right and then maintain it but am not sure the best course of treatments for this. I would be grateful for any advice. I have just moved to Australia which is a bit behind in most things and may not have some of the more advanced or new techniques. Thank you
Is surgery an option to treat a pinched nerve? What treatment options does someone with a pinched nerve have, other than taking painkillers or other medications? Do surgeons ever actually remove the offending nerve? (If it matters, this is a long-term problem that has not responded at all to about 10 years of chiropractic treatment, ice, stretching, etc.) Forgot to add that this is in the neck, not the back
Pinched Nerve in Neck+Neurologist's Treatment? I've been having severe pain in my neck, pins and needles sensation in both hands. My primary doc sent me to a Neurologist 6 months ago. I told him about my neck and his response was "You have a Migraine" and he gave me medication. He told me, he was not that concerned about my neck. This week I had both an MRI and an EMG and it shows extensive nerve damage in both my neck and both hands. My Orthopedist asked why I didn't get treated earlier for this. My question...Should I let the Neurologist know of the findings? It irks me to no end that he totally dismissed my symptoms and my request to have my neck checked out. I feel his inaction so irresponsible and I need to vent--any suggestions?
What treatment other than operation for pinched nerves? Pinched nerves in neck. 3and 4 vertebra is pressing on spinal cord- no use of right arm. Is there any medication to ease pain and regain use of arm. I have done MRI.andhave been seeing a chiropractor but doesn't seem to help.

What treatment is available for chronic pinched nerves? After years of Icy Hot rub downs and soaking in hot baths I'm ready for some real relief. Any and all suggestions are appreciated. I'm 24 and the stress points are between my shoulder blades and lower back. Sometimes my sciatica as well.
why does my pinched nerve mainly hurt at night? I have been having on and off problems with a burning, stinging, tingling sensation on my right side that goes from my lower right side into my butt and down my leg. It mainly hurts at night or when I play rugby and am running fast and making sudden moves. I am going to stop seeing chiropractor and ride my stationary bike, do core training, stretch and ice. Does this sound like a pinched nerve and why does it hurt at night? how about my treatment?
Any home treatments I can try for a very severe pinched nerve in my neck? I am a 22 year old male and I have been suffering with very severe and chronic neck and shoulder pain for a year and 9 months now. I have gone to two doctors, had two CT scans and an MRI (they found nothing but a pinched nerve-no disk herniations or anything)...I do ice and heat therapy every night, have done every stretch imaginable, been to chiropractors, etc...I am in so much pain it is unbearable at this point-the back of my head and my neck and shoulder are so swollen it's ridiculous and I have weakness in my right arm now. The pain gets worse with every month...it did go away for almost a month about a year ago but has been back full force for the past year...I am at my wits end with this because nothing seems to help. Any suggestions from anyone? Anything will help me at this point...plus I know it is driving my fiancee crazy that I can't move most of the time at night
What can be done with a pinched nerve in a dogs back? We are trying on deciding whether to adopt a 2 yr AmStaff or 2 year old Basset hound. The basset hound sometimes falls while walking or running because of a pinched nerve in his back but doesn't seem to be in pain, he just gets back up and keeps going,.What things can be done about a pinched nerve in his back. would it require surgery or just treatments. Thanks.
Any other advice for a pinched nerve? I have pinched nerve from what I can tell it is my femoral nerve. I have been losing strength in my thigh muscle to the point if I bend my knee with too much wieght on my right side I go down like brick. I've taken muscle relaxers, put ice on it, and have taken probably more motrin than i should have and still can't releive the pain. I haven't seen the doctor yet. I'm trying to exhaust every treatment I can think of before I go. I will most likely go friday if i can't heal it myself. If someone has any other advice please let me know. If you are in the medical field and say go to the Doc that is cool too.
Is the pain I'm experiencing a pinched nerve? If so, what's best treatment? I'm 43 and 10 days ago I decided to start exercising. I started with jump roping...Bad idea. Since then I've had pain that feels like a knot or Charlie horse that sometimes is in the shoulder blade but will move to the shoulder or even upper arm muscle and under the arm into the armpit. The pain is only in one place at a time and I have free movement in all directions, but have the worst pain when raising my arm straight up, like washing or brushing my hair or putting on a shirt. Motrin & heat rubs do nothing, it feels like a deep bruise & is so severe it keeps me from sleeping. What can I do? The reason I started exercising is that I've been layed off for a few months & have been called back to work. I start tomorrow (Monday, Oct. 12) and it's very strenuous work. My Insurance doesn't kick in until later this week, which is why I haven't gone to the Doctor yet.
Pinched nerve in back - treatments? After months and months and months and vets and vets and vets and vets, through a process of elimination, we are guessing that my horses both have a pinched nerve caused by my ex-saddle. Do NOT USE WINTEC SADDLES! Anyway, by eliminating everything else, a pinched nerve fits the bill. Somedays, my horse cannot be sat upon or asked to move with a rider on board. Rest & time off, and she'll be OK for a ride or two, but can't trot or canter comfortably. My other horse, after 12 mos. is still un-sit-on-able. I've never had this issue before. Chiropractic has been recommended- will this really help? I was thinking about Prednisone? What treatments can be done to horse for this?? Vet #1 says do nothing & breed her, Vet #2 shockwaved her, which helped slightly, Vet#3 said Chiro, Vet#4 said myelogram her and find the exact spot. My other horse has been seen by 8 vets! This is gone on too long, and I want 1 horse to be rideable! But have spent a ton already on both! Action; in response - I had the saddle professionally fitted to both of my horses. Saddle fit was not the issue, even the vets were confunded, because the saddle fit perfectly well. I imagine it may have been the CAIR panels that ended up doing the damage. Both horses spent about 4-6 mos in the saddle and went from perfect riding animals to completely unrideable in the blink of an eye. I cannot part with them, and they and their issues I caused are mine to deal with. Granted, I am running dry on money, having tried almost everything imaginable, from EPM medicine to antiinflammatories, numerous xrays, shockwave... yada, yada, yada. I do NOT breed, do NOT want to breed, and probably will NEVER breed Spyder. Don't want a baby around, but I DO want a riding horse again, rather than disappointment and frustration when I go to the barn to stare at my 2 horses. Can't afford to buy a 5th horse, as I own 4 already.
Is this psychological or is this a pinched nerve? Could this symptoms be psychological or a pinched nerve 3 mths ago till today i been having painful pins and needles throughout my body.If it really is a pinch nerve is it dangerous? and what are the treatments besides going to the doctor?
Do I have a pinched nerve? If so, how can I stretch my tailbone!!? I sit a lot. I'm a student - so most of my time is spent sitting in lectures, sitting at a computer, and sitting in my car driving. A few days ago just under my tailbone "the top of my butt" started to be quite painful whenever I sit or move (mainly when I try to get up from sitting. I have to move like an old granny). The pain/ache hasn't gone away or lessened since, so I am thinking it is a pinched nerve. ...? Most treatments for pinced nerves involve stretching the area. But how do I stretch my tailbone area?! I tried doing the stretch where you lie on your back and pull your calf horizontally towards you, but it doesn't really hurt to do so I don't think it is doing much. Is there any other stretch I can try? PS please don't tell me just to exercise more or sit less - I literally can't. Im an engineering student and if I'm not sitting working, I am desperately trying to catch up on sleep. At the moment, anyway =(
Can anyone tell me about pinched nerve condition? I HAVE A TERRIBLE PAIN & SWELLING IN RT THIGH WHICH GOES UPTO KNEE & LOWER BACK ON SAME SIDE. SOMEONE TOLD ME IT IS PINCHED NERVE. Pinched nerve in finger? How to remedy? About two months ago I dislocated my pinky finger pretty good while playing football. I just popped the finger back in and never saw a doctor. About 5 days ago I woke up with a tingling feeling and numbness in that same finger. The finger still feels the same 5 days later. Is this a pinched nerve? And what should I do for treatment?
what can i do to treat a pinched nerve? I already go ttested and it is in my left arm, the doc says no weightlifting that involves me bending my elbow, but that is every workout. I am wondering if there is any special natural treatment I can do to make it better.

I think I may have a pinched nerve, how can you tell? I was wearing really tall closed toe shoes for Halloween on Saturday and I woke up Sunday with a numbness in my right second toe. I figured it would go away but it hasent. I'm a college student so the only access to any kind of medical treatment is the health services offered on my campus. (there is no other place trust me) how do you determine if it's a pinched nerve? It doesn't hurt, I just can't feel one of my toes. Thanks for the help :)
Is this a pinched nerve? About a month ago, i felt a sharp pain in the back on my shoulder... I thought i was stung by a bee, but there was no mark. Now every day or two, i get that same pain, and then my shoulder feels real sore for awhile. Is this a pinched nerve? If so, what is the treatment? Thanks!
My husband seems to have a pinched Ulnar Nerve? His ring finger on his right hand is numb and has a feeling in it similar to having hit your funny bone. My Husband is unable to seek immediate treatment for it. I have read that the affected finger can atrophy and begin to gain a claw like shape. How immediate of an occurrence is that? How long can he go like this before causing moderate to severe damage? I forgot to add that his finger has been like this since early yesterday.
I have a pinched nerve in my lower back. no more burning sensation?? I have a pinched nerve at the L5/S1. I have weakness in my left leg and tingling and numbness too. I used to get these burning sensations that ran down my leg to my foot and now I don't get them anymore. I don't know what this means. It's been 8 months and no treatment yet from the Army. Can someone explain this to me and tell me what I should do next? I have already had 3 months physical therapy and 3 back injections. I don't know what else I could get done other than surgery.
What is causing this pain in my left arm, and if it is a pinched nerve in my elbow what is the treatment? im 16 year old female, and ever since last year i have had a really bad pain in my left arm while doing seat work, and i let it go for awhile thinking nothing of it because it didnt hurt that often. lately within the past couple of months the amount of pain increased and became more frequent, i seem to have pain in my arm whenever i am sitting at my desk and in all classes where as before it was only during one class. i decided to book an appoitment with my doctor to see what it was but she was unsure but suggested it may be a pinched nerve in my elbow, and she booked me an appoitment for nerve studies, but it seems i have been waiting for this appoitment forever. if it is a pinched nerve what is the treatment? also i have been given an elbow brace to wear for now so there is padding when i put my elbow down on a surface
Treatment and recovery from a pinched nerve in the upper back? I have a pinched nerve in my upper back near the left shoulder blade. I did not know that it was a pinched nerve, i thought i just needed to crack my back but after going to the gym one day and working out my back the pain really kicked in and the muscle near the left shoulder blade really tightened up and my movement was restricted. I went to my university health center and I was told to take ibuprofen and ice my back. The icing doesnt seem to do much but I have taken Ibuprofens when I have needed to. I am restricted in a few movements and I cant breath too deep without feeling pain in the left side of my chest. Getting a doctor to evaluate me is bit of an issue due to distance and transportation so I am curious to know if the pinched nerve will eventually take care of itself on its own if I avoid any activities that can aggravate it AND if so how long will it take and will i be able to go back to my regular weight lifting routine? Thanks

Pinched Nerve In Spine! Treatments? Thoroughbred gelding, 14 years old, used to show. Now his owner says she believes he has a pinched nerve in his spine. I have heard of acupuncture helping, as well as a chiropractor, but I would like to know if there is any thing that I can do myself to help with his recovery and make him pain-free when I ride.

severe neck pain pinched nerve doctor and treatment? Hi, For the past few weeks, I've had severe neck pain. My neck cracks in both directions when I wakeup from sleeping, but during the day, it is almost impossible to crack it. I keep trying to twist and turn and crack my neck every minute, feeling constant discomfort, stiff neck, and cramps, but I am unable to do so, often only sometimes hearing a slight crackling noise. I can't look straight for more than a few minutes and keep my neck in one spot. It's constantly cramping and very uncomfortable, always turning in every direction to try and relieve the pain and stiffness. I tried a chiropractor, but he said that I would need 8 or so treatments to feel relief (with a high insurance deductible each time), and I cannot take the risk at the price nor afford it. He did say it was pinched nerves in the neck and upper back, and a lot of tension and stiffness. Muscle cream doesn't work, and neither does a neck massager or heating pad or taking several advils. What kind of doctor can I see to finally solve this constant pain and discomfort and to stop having to make faces and try every wasy possible to crack my neck in public. Would a orthopedis or neurologist work. Is there any type of injection or muscle reliever prescription medicine that could work, and would this permanently and not temporarily solve this pain and problem. Thank you so much.
Pain Management Pinched Nerve Treatment? I am a 64 year old male who has been told I have a pinched nerve. My doctor is telling me I should proceed with Epidural Steriod Injections, my question is why wouldn't I just get a steriod shot in the ankle area. I am having pain in my ankle when I stand or walk, initially I could walk 15-20 minutes before I would need to rest however now the pain starts right away. I went to physical therapy where I did exercise and traction it seemed to help the first 30 days , however it didn't seem to improve during the next 30 days. I went for lumbar spine x-rays and received the following report. The report says ' there is facet hypertrophy at L4/5 and L5/S1. There is disc narrowing at the same levels. There is no hardware, fracture or subluxation. There is mild dextroscoliosis. No spondylolsis.
What is the treatment for a pinched nerve? I hurt my back lifting something a day and a half ago. My back is visibly pulling to the side, I am in pain, and my back is very stiff. I know from past experience (same injury) that my chiropractor cannot correct this because it is muscular. I have been taking Aleve and putting ice on it, and today I got a massage. During my massage, my therapist hit a spot that sent a pain through me that brought me to tears. He said I probably have a pinched nerve and that I should have X-rays done to find out. I have tried to get in with a doctor today, but no one can see me. I have a prescription for Vicodin, and that alleviates the pain very effectively. I try to avoid pain pills, however, because I feel that the pain exists to further prevent us from hurting ourselves. So these are my questions... Is there anything besides ice, Aleve, and rest that I should be doing? Will seeing a doctor for X-rays offer anything besides a positive diagnosis (is it really worth the time and money)? Can taking Vicodin result in further injury providing that I still use common sense and rest? How long do pinched nerves generally last? Can I still go to work, or is it important that I stay on bed rest until I'm fully recovered? Would muscle relaxers help, or is rest the better option? I know that rest is important, but this is the busiest time of the year at my job and it would be unlikely that I could take any extended time off. Any other suggestions? Thank you for taking the time to read this and offer any sound advice :)

Pinched nerve in elbow treatment? Hi, this is the first time I've experienced something like this but yesterday I started to feel sharp tingling pains when I would bend my left elbow to a certain point. The pain would be from the middle of my forearm all the way up to my shoulder. It felt the most sharp at the elbow though. After accidentally bending my elbow like that so many times yesterday I started to have some back spasms and its really annoying how sore my muscles are getting. I've been stretching, massaging, and applying heat pads so hopefully I am on the right track to recovery. What else can I do about this? Thanks in advanced!
