I have pain and swelling on the top of my foot, could this be Arthritis? The top of my foot seems to swell up and is really painful at times. I know I havn't knocked it or anything but it is really sore. The swelling seems to go down a little overnight but as the day goes on it gets more painful and swells up. My feet swell a lot and then I cant get my shoe on. I take painkillers but I have a constant ache/throb in my foot. Could I have Arthritis?
Pain and swelling on top of my foot and outside of ankle? I have extreme pain in my left ankle and swelling on the top of my foot and ankle. It is painful to the touch. The pain started a few days ago with no injury at all. It just started swelling up along with having the pain today. The joint is stiff and it is extremely painful to walk on. There is no bruising and no apparent reason I should even be having a problem at all. What does this sound like it might be? I cannot even walk on it today. The pain is way too bad. Even just sitting has become painful, because it hurts all the time now.
Puffy bruised on top of foot with pain underneath now? I jhave severe pain, bruising and swelling on top of my left foot after a customer dropped a tin onto it (work in a supermarket) and that was 4 days ago. Today I have woken up with pain on the bottom of my foot and find it painful to flex my foot. What's wrong?
I have pain in the top of my foot with swelling.? The pain is more intense when I point my toes down or when something touches or rubs the top of my foot. I have not sustained any type of impact to the top of my foot and hav had this condition for about two weeks.
Foot pain and swelling? A few times in the past my foot has really given me pain, such as- After running the mile at school, my foot had a lot of pain when i put pressure on it, and i had to stay home from school a few days because i couldn't put any pressure on it. I went to a lock in and had some very flat shoes, and towards the end, after hours of running around and laser tag, i had to hop to the car to leave. All the times that this has happened, the pain is enough that i have to use several painkillers. The top of my foot swells a bit and i can't put pressure on it for a few days. I went to the doctor because i thought i may have fractured my foot. the doctors didn't see anything wrong with it. any idea what this may be?

I have been out shopping and got back with a pain and swelling on the top of my foot also looks bruised but i am sure i have not bumped it. i am pregnant and wandered if it was linked? this is on the top part of my foot about an inch from where my ankle is ..any ideas i am hobbling about so had to sit and put feet up... was walking in and out of shops and not bumped it, and i was wearing sandles so no shoes rubbing my foot, the other foot is fine..
Diagnosis on pain along the top of the foot? My dad has been experiencing some foot pain at the very top of his foot, in the joint where it connects with his leg. It is obviously swollen and a bit bruised. He says the pain goes away during his daily tasks, when he walks, or stands (applied pressure). But when he sits down and takes pressure off of his foot, it begins to throb with pain. "It feels like someone is just hitting it over and over with a hammer." Can anyone tell me what the diagnosis to his problem might be? Thanks
Pain on top of my foot? I intialy had planter fastitus (sp) at least that is what my Dr said. When the pain in my heal went away (thank you for leaving you evil pain) My feet remained swollen for weeks, my ankles as well and I was on anti inflmatories... they didnt seem to help Then my wrists started to swell and I had pain in my hands. All of that went away but I still have this pain on the top of my foot down by my toes where they bend to meet the foot.. its strange I am being checked for rhumitoid arthritis on feb 9th.. though now that most of the pain went away I have no idea what it was, any thoughts? Sorry for rambling.. its what I do BTW I have had this for like 3 months now.
Foot pain, tenderness after swelling? I have high blood pressure and pretty bad edema in my ankles and feet. I take 25mg of HCTZ (a diuretic) every day. For a week or so, I didn't take my medicine (bad idea, I know) and my feet swelled up really badly. I've been back on my meds for a week or two and the swelling has mostly gone away, but now the tops of my feet (where the swelling was the worst) are very painful and tender to the touch. There's no redness or anything like that. Did the swelling damage tissue or something, and is it something to worry/see a doctor about?
Foot Pain. My big toe was hurting and now it has spread to the top of my foot as well. It is a constant pain I didn't do anything out of the ordinary to make my big toe start hurting (ie kicking anything). Now for some reason last night the top of my foot became swollen and red and in constant pain. I'm using ice and advil right now. Any advice or reasons this may be happening. I haven't changed shoes in a while so I doubt it's that. By the way, it does hurt to try and move my big toe and right now my entire foot hurts unless it is elevated with ice to numb it. Comments will be appreciated!
I have a severe crushing pain on the bones that lead to the toes on the top of the foot? I have a severe crushing pain on the bones that lead to the toes on the top of the foot. My doctor has diagnosed some kind of swelling of the tissue due to prolonged driving (10 hours a day, 6 days a week) he has prescribed an anti inflammatory but they do absolutely nothing. The pain disappears almost completely when at rest, but I limp in agony when walking. He was very dismissive of the problem as if it would just go away like a mild cold does, but it feels like it is broken but I haven't done anything to suggest that. The problem is that I drive for a living and this is the left foot on the clutch !!!!! Anyone have any ideas as to the docs diagnosis, lenth of time for recovery, or shoe type that should be worn. etc etc. Some feedback would be great as the pain spreads up my leg. Thanks. Alan
I am Type 2 Diabetic. I have been suffering Severe Feet pain and Swelling..burning pain..Probable Cause? The pain is a burning pain that originates in the ball area of my foot and raises to The calf muscle area. The tops of my feet swell, so much so they will no longer fit in my shoes. This has been going on for about a month, and now it is so sever I had to come home from work early tonight. My doctor said elevate my feet, if pain or swelling does not go away go to the emergency room. I've checked web md....they have way too many probable causes from bad arches to a blod clot...Any type 2 diabtics out there have something similar happen to them...if so what is the cause, and what can I do to alleviate it. ***Blood sugar isn't elevated or too low, I've been watching my diet like a hawk...nothing out of ordinary food wise....Tried changing my shoes, didnt make things better or worse.
persistant minor pain and swelling on foot 6 weeks after sprained ankle? PLEASE HELP ME!!!? i twisted my ankle invertedly about six weeks ago, causing a sprain. immediately, my foot had swollen, and it was EXTREMELY difficult to put any weight on my foot for the next few hours. by the next day, my foot was still quite large, but i could walk. swelling lasted about 6 weeks. now, most of the swelling is gone, but there is pain when i invert my ankle. the pain is on the front and lateral side of my ankle, and on the top of my foot -- exactly where all the remaining, though minor, swelling is. what is going on with my ankle? please help me...i have no idea, as my mom will not take me to the doctor. all i want to do is get out and get fully active once again. thanks.
Why did I get sudden pain and swelling on my foot? Without any trauma? To all the medical pros out there! Quick question, long story... Yesterday I was standing in my kitchen looking through some Polly Pocket toys when it felt like i had been stung by a bee (stinging sensation more than pain) on my right foot .. top right hand side... so I reached down and scratched it... did not look at it.... as I know i did not get stung in my house. Any ways the stinging feeling came back 2 more times before I looked at my foot.. and there was a lump about the size of a grape, under my skin and it looked really red and irritated. eventually the grape sized swell did go down, but now i am left with a NASTY bruise about the size of a 50 cent piece. I did call my Dr, but he was not concerned. Anybody out there know what this is?? And have a place I can compare pictures?? Thank You so much!!
Minor swelling and pain in foot? i don't know how it happened but last thursday i was walking to my car from work and i got a severe pain in my left foot. i've narrowed down the pain to being like a sharp pinch. it is very stiff and sore to the point of giving me a limp. the only time it feels better is if i use it and stay on it all day. if i rest it at night or relax with it up it gets worse. there is some minor swelling on the left side and wraps up on to the top of my foot. it is slightly darker in the place of the swelling and pain. it hurts to point my toes and flex. i am just starting to gain flexibility to turn my ankle but it still hurts. is it just a strain or something? i really don't want to make a doctor visit.
Top of foot pain before toes to the ankle _Painful when walking? Dont know how i did it . I dont know if i twisted it ? stress fracture ? bruised Bone ? Sprain ? Been Painful for a week . Swelling and sharp pain in top of belly? Last night I was sitting down with my family playing a game and I noticed my feet swell really really big. Its really the first time I have had swelling like that. I figured it would go back down after I layed down and went to sleep. Well this morning I woke up and I am still just as swollen. I layed down and took a nap and after my nap I noticed that I have this constant sharp pain at the top of my belly. I know its not the baby because she is moving all over and the pain doesn't change. I am 37 weeks tomorrow. Anyone else every had this? I have put a call into my dr just waiting for them to call me back so I thought I would ask on here? Oh and last night I also had some very light pink spotting only once and haven't had any since.
right foot pain, but did nothing to injury it!? I was having some calf pain for a bit, but then now my ankle hurts and I am having swelling. The pain radiates to the top of my foot. I had a xray and no broken bones but I am having a lot of pain with this foot!
Second opinion why do I have pain on the top of my foot? For the past week I have experience pain on the top of my right foot. The pain now is slowly going away, however I'm noticing that my foot is a bit swollen. I don't recall hurting my foot; however last week I was cleaning the house and was wearing slip on sandles (probably not a bright thing to do). I went to my podiatrist an he told me that I had too much stress on my right foot; and that this will heal in a couple of more days. If the swelling continues for a week more, then I should contact him. What are your views on this?
I am having severe pain on top of my right foot.? My pain in my right foot is located on top of my foot by my toes and shoots up my foot. It is not swollen and hurts while sitting down and when I walk. I have had no injuries to my foot. Just started hurting this morning. Any ideas would be much appreciated! Thank you!
Foot pain on the top of my foot? About 3 weeks ago I began experiencing pain on the top of my right foot. I run every night and work out everyday so Im pretty sure it has something to do with that...but anyways it happened one day while I was starting to run.For the first 2 weeks the pain was on the top of my foot on the side...like the area of the last two toes....it was very hard to walk and I went and got some x rays but they didnt find anything on them. The pain has still not gone away but now it is located more towards the middle and I have swelling and brusing...any idea what I could do to help it or what it could be?
Swelling and bruising on different areas of foot? I work in a supermarket. Three days ago, a customer accidently dropped a tin of food onto my foot. Swelling appeared on the right hand side of the top of my foot. Now bruising appears on the left hand side of the top of my foot about 48 hours afterwards - ie swelling and bruising haven't been on the same area. I am in agony and crying in pain. What is wrong with my foot? I have been taking ibuprofen and paracetamol and pain hasn't eased at all.
Top of the foot pain all of a sudden? At some point two nights ago when I was up walking around the house, there was this really sharp and pretty much unbearable pain on my right foot. The pain feels like its starting from the bottum-middle-left part of my foot, then goes upward to the top of my foot. I drew a picture just incase that was hard to understand: http://www.e-imagesite.com/Files2/032%20Foot%20(plantar%20view)97369.jpg Anyway, its come out of no where. I've never hurt my feet before, they've never been broken or bruised or anything like that. As far as I can tell, theres no swelling or bruises on it right now. It usually goes away after about 2 or 3 minutes of sitting down. When I'm walking through out the day, it either hurts slightly and is bearable or (and this is very rare) it doesn't hurt at all. But when it doesn't hurt that only lasts for about 5 minutes or so. The pain is only in my right foot, it never happens on my left foot. The sharp unbearable pain seems to happen after I get up from laying down. Being a poor self-employed american, I have no health insurance so going to the doctor would be expensive. So I'm hoping someone knows what I may have so that I can do something about it. I bought some "Dr.Scholl's" shoe pads from wal-mart this morning but haven't really been able to use them because I can't find scissors to make the fit my shoes. Thanks in advance. I also wanted to add that I'm a 22 year old male. I just did some more reseach and talked about it with my mom. it seems that the arch in my foot dropped possibly. Its not a definate thing, but if anything I hope that its it rather than something extremely serious since a dropped arch can be corrected with arch support. I bought the dr.scholls things but maybe someone could recommend something made specifically for correcting a dropped arch? Or perhaps something better than dr.scholls? Unless Dr.scholls will work. The type i bought from wal-mart are the only kind i could get, Massaging Gell Extra Support Ideal for big and tall men, because it was the only kind that was big enough (i wear a size 11 because i have wide-ish feet) Thanks in advance again.
Why is the top part of my foot swollen? Saturday and Sunday I went hiking up a very high hill and walked along a rocky beach. Both days I along alot of unlevel ground and spent a lot of time barefoot. Sunday evening I started getting pain in the top part of my foot towards the bottom of my leg. (Sort of on the boney part.) Today it's quite red around that area on both feet and almost looks like it is brusing. I am walking in pain. What is this?
Swollen foot for ten weeks, I need some advice? about 10 weeks ago I was wearing some cork wedge shoes that were real hard. Anyways later that day I noticed my foot is real swollen. And sometimes when I would bear weight on it it would feel like my whole foot was is in intense pain. I finally went to the dr. and they did xrays and it came back normal.. I still had pain and swelling so they did an MRI and that was normal and how my foot was propped in the mri machine it made it swell up. Then, today I go to the podiatrist and she does xrays of both feet to compare and nothing is found except she said that I had the highest Arch she has ever seen and it explains why my feet are so short as well. Im near 5'8 with a size 5 1/2 shoe. Any who she "strapped" my feet and told me to give it a couple of days to see how I do. She thinks it my high arch causing me pain. heres a list of symptoms - Swelling on top of foot mainly located righ under the toes and when it gets real swollen its on the top of my foot - The pain is located under the toes and sometimes on the inner part of my foot at the bottom. - Walking for a long period of time will make my foot swell. and when I sit it just aches - I have also started having muscle spasms in my foot and calf - Symptoms for 10 weeks. I just need some help or reassurance that it is my high arch.
Foot Problem: New shoes +50 minute run+ pain on top side of left foot? I'm a competitive runner who took a month off after university, i bought a new pair of shoes to start up again. My first run with the new shoes hurt my feet a lot but i thought that was just my feet getting use to them, the second run i hardly felt them but then the third run (today) i felt it the whole run and the last 3 minutes of my 50 minute run they hurt really bad. now 5 hours later my foot is swollen and bruised. i can still walk easy but with pain on the top side of my left foot. Is it just bruised from the shoes or could it be a stress fracture? or is this just a reaction to the new shoes?
Pain and swelling in feet and ankles? My ankles and the tops of my feet, I have noticed, hurt the most. I have also noticed some pain in the bottoms of my feet, as well, but not so much. There are two types of pain that I have been experiencing: Pain when standing or walking that feels as if is coming from the bones in the tops of my feet and an achey, sometimes sickly, pain (mainly located in the ankles) that feels as if it is a result of the swelling. Pitting edema is present.
i have pain in the top of my foot and in my ankle and it hurts when i put pressure or walk on it? this has happened before and keeps happening time to time like 3 years now it all started after having my son he was 4 months old ,and after being pregnant for nine months ..i needed a strech ya know..my mustles so one morning i woke up and streched and something poped like a tape messure and the pain was so emmence.. i noticed what ever poped in my leg now lays around my ankle on the inside like a band poped under the skin and it is just laying there so when i try to do something like walk or im on my feet to much i find myself in this pain.its hard to walk up steps and to walk or excersise and when i put pressure on it it horrible and is swollen on the top of my foot and in the ankle area.the pain also generates to my knee up my leg if i put alot of presure on the top of my foot it it is some what feels better but comes right back when i take the pressure off and its a burnnig sensation like terribly just hurts i dont know what to do what could this be? any Drs out there ?help please
Pain in my foot and its also swollen? I have a very bad pain in the top of my left foot. I find it so hard to walk and its very very swollen and slightly bruised. I broke my toe on the foot a couple of months ago and i dont think it healed properly as i even now get a pain on it. Could this be anything to do with it. Its so painful even when sitting still and its so swollen my sandles feel like there popping open. Sould i go and get this checked up?
Pain in the top of my foot? I have pain in the top of my foot, close to my ankle. Once I get warmed up it goes away, but at rest it is quite bad (makes sleeping quite uncomfortable at times!) I walk regularly, and do karate. But have done these things for years, and the pain started within the last month, progressively getting worse. I suffered from plantar fascitus last Nov but am healing quite nicely. Is this new pain connected to the pf? (there is no redness, swelling or boney growth) or maybe just shoelaces tied to tight??
I have pain on the top part of my foot, what is it? Hey im 16 years old and Ive been getting some bad footpain when i run lately. The pain just happens when I run, and afterwards it hurts when I walk. I stopped running for a week and the pain stopped. I started running gain and the pain came back. Its in the top part of my foot. I stars above the big toe nail bone and goes along the top part of the metarsals of my left foot. Theres no swelling or bruising. When I put on ice right after running, it makes it hurt worst. If i just touch my foot it doesnt hurt at all. I would appreciate if someone helped me.
Swollen left foot and pain on my left calf? A few days ago I started to feel pain on the top of my left feet and my left calf. Today my left feet is swollen and the skin on top looks pinkish and the skin feels kind of warm. I didn't injury myself in anyway. Now I feel pain when I move my left feet and at the same time I also feel pain in my lower back. This all happened at the same time. I don't know what it is? Please advise, any info will help. Any over the counter remedy that can be recommended? Thank you
What would cause a pain in my left hip, knee, and top of foot? It all started when I took a job standing all day, I thought that I would be better when I left and found a sit down job. I had the stand up job for 6 months. After one month on the new job the pain is better, but it is still there. My knee was more swollen before. None of the pain is severe. The top of my foot gets a slight "pain" (for lack of a better description), and my knee has a slight pain. The hip thing just started, just a very slight pain. I loosen my shoe strings and it helps, but always comes around the worst mid-afternoon. What in the world could this all be?
What is causing my foot pain? I've been experiencing pain along the top of my left foot especially on the medial arch side. It’s been about a month, and it only seems to be getting worse. No arch, heel, or toe pain. No swelling or bruising. No specific injury to that foot. Hurts when I walk and run, however the pain is bearable. Sometimes it will ache even when I’m resting. Does anyone know what this could be or have experienced similar symptoms? I don’t want to go to the doctor if there is something I can do at home to help! I’ve tried ice and ibuprofen. I also bought insoles for my shoes but no change. Thanks so much!
Anyone know about foot pain/growths? I just noticed about a week ago the top of my foot looks swollen, but it does not hurt to touch. Sometimes- but not all, the foot hurts when I walk. This walking pain I have noticed off and on for at least 6 months, but I do not remember having any injury. I do not wear high heels or walk barefoot, but I was recently pregnant and sometimes have mild Arthritis in my knees. I am a slightly overweight (abt 30 lbs) woman in her late 30's. Any Ideas?
Can your foot be broken without feeling pain when you walk? Two days ago I hit the top of my foot , I felt severe pain when i did it , it became very swollen so much so i couldn't move my toes. It also had a burning sensation and throbs from time to time.It is not painful to walk just uncomfortable because of the swelling. Do you think it could be broken?
pain on the top of my foot? ? i am experiencing pain on the top of my foot, just above my arch. the pain almost goes about up to my ankles and the are appears to be the tiniest bit swollen. i first noticed the pain yesterday after one of my field hockey games and it hurts when i put my sneakers on to run. I run a lot, as i play field hockey and my coaches are all about speed and endurance. i run on all different types of ground as well. my question is, does anyone or has anyone ever experienced this pain before? do you know what it is? i was thinking possibly tendonitis. also, should i be putting ice on my feet to help the pain? i have an arch in my feet. i was never flat-footed nor have i ever worn orthotic shoes.
Can flea bites cause my whole foot pain? 8 days ago I moved into an apartment where the previous renters had a cat, which unknown to me left behind a flea infestation, that I discovered yesterday after being biten on my foot. I have gotten a few bites on the same foot, and now my whole foot hurts. Not the bites themselves, but my the skin all over the top of my foot is super sensitive and hurts to touch (but it not swollen or red) and my ankle is starting to feel sore. Could this be some kind of reaction to the bites?
Foot Pain plz help!!? I have gotten pain on the top of my foot and there is no swelling or redness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How long until foot swelling (from dropping something on it and neglecting for a week ) and pain improves? I dropped a large metal chair on the top of my foot two weeks ago. It didn't swell or hurt initially, so I ignored it and hiked for a week. After a week my foot became swollen (not discolored) and very painful. X-Rays showed no fractures. Per Dr.'s orders, I've been taking ibuprofen, icing, and elevating for four days but it's not geting any better (in fact, worse every day), though she said it would be fine in a week. Weirdly, it always hurts more when I elevate or ice it. Is this normal? How long will it take to get better (or at least stop getting worse?!?) Should I go and get another x-ray done if it's not better in a few days?
Unilateral (one) swollen top of foot with pitting for over a month...? I am a younger female in my 20s. I have had one swollen foot with moderate swelling on the top of my foot area, mostly on the entire top of my foot. There is no redness near my big toe, which I read online is a sign of gout, so I don't think its that. There is also a little swelling around my ankle, but it is mostly just the top of my foot. The swelling is pitting (when I press on it, it makes an indentation instantly which stays for a while) and it has been swollen for about 6 weeks, with no change. When comparing my two feet, you can definitely see the difference... The non-swollen feet you can see my veins and tendons in my foot, my swollen foot, you can't see veins and it looks quite swollen on top. I have been unemployed for the past few months, so I have not been walking around on my feet all day. I have tried to give it rest, ibuprofen, and ice, with no relief or improvement or decrease in swelling at all. I have had no known trauma (that I can recall), other than the fact, that when I began to notice the swelling, I was in the middle of moving, and had been spending about 12-16 hours a day on my feet for one week, when we were remolding the house. Before that, I spent most of the day sitting down. I noticed the swelling during that one week, when I went to put on shoes and they were extremely tight and it was painful to put my foot in. However, there was no known trauma, no brushing, and no pain when walking. There is only a feeling of stiffness and tightness in my foot and ankle due to the swelling, and my foot is slightly tender on top to the touch, but I'm not sure if its because I did something to it or if it is just because it is so swollen... Also, about a month prior to me noticing the swelling (so about 2 or more months ago), I was lifting my knee towards my chest to put my shoe on, and got a cramp and sharp pain (like a charlie horse) on the middle to inner part of my thigh... I looked at it, and noticed there was a small dime size bruise on a visible surface vein on my thigh (I wasn't sure if it was just a bruise or could it have been a blood clot???)... Anyway, I am not sure if this event (the thigh cramping and bruise in my inner thigh a month prior to the top of my foot swelling a month later...) or if it is coincidental.... I only consider these factors because I read things online talking about blood clots and DVT causing unilateral swelling... So, is it more likely that I just over "stressed" my foot and caused a strain or sprain (even though there is no bruising) or should I be very concerned that a blood clot or DVT could be to blame? Like I said, I've had swelling for about 5-6 weeks with no relief... I don't have health insurance, and as much as I want to go to the dr's and get xrayed and opinions, I can't afford it right now unless absolutely necessary.... I don't know how to get the swelling down, because I am off my feet most of the day and it hasn't changed...
Foot pain?.. Please help.? I have been having foot pain on and off for about a year. Its at the top of my right foot. It used to just be the right said of my foot.but now its the entire top of it. My toes do not hurt. My foot swells a little too. I have had 3 xrays since it has been hurting but they can not find anything wrong with it. So this time I wont even bother asking for one. Its an on and off thing that has been happening. When I have my shoe off it hurts the most. When my shoe is on.. I can hardly feel like pain. Anyone ever have this? my foots not red or anything. Feels like Muscle pull or something.
Foot broke ? It's not terribly painfull , its coming from the top of my foot (3rd or 4th metatarsal)? Well i was playing for my football team 3 weeks ago , i struck the studded underside boot of a opposing player felt a swelling pain , but there was no swelling , but otherwise i was able to run it off. But now for the last two weeks the same things has happened , i hit a ball to have the same pain again ( i have scored both the shots that caused me the pain btw lol) and can run it off as long as i don't hit a ball hard for a second time during a game. But the next day when the adrenaline has worn off , it feels terrrible and i can just about walk on it , untill i force myself to walk on it for a while then it becomes less painfull , then for a week t becomes totally fine ,till every thursday when i kick a ball again then the pain is back. What do you think is the problem , i am goin to a & e later but would like your opinions .
top of foot pain during pregnancy? I am 8 months pregnant. Over the last week the top of my foot has been hurting. I know that foot pain is common in pregnancy, especially during the last trimester, but I would think that it is more of an ankle or bottom of a foot pain that is common. Does anyone know why the top of my foot hurts, even to the touch? My boyfriend was looking at it last night and it looks a little swollen and if he even touched around the area it hurt very bad. I can not remember dropping anything on my foot or twisting it any any way. I have a doctors apt on Monday but I thought id see if anyone knew anything in the mean time.
Increasing pain, swelling, knots forming, left leg and foot, doctors conflicting? In February I started having pain at the top of my left shin when I squatted, went up/downstairs and knelt on it. Swelling soon started and pain increased. A hard knot began to form in the swelling on the top of my tibia and against my patella tendon. In the beginning of August 2010, the knot elongated in a hard ridge extending from that knot to another one that formed close to center of the knobby top of my tibia. Another followed, like the smooth rounded edge of my tibia was starting to grow. At the same time, my petetchiea has gotten more numerous, my legs bruising easily and my shin splints have returned (pain in lower shins, tenderness, pain when stretching toes). A week and a half before my sports doc visit, a knot has formed on the bone edge where the big toe separates from the rest of the foot bones. The pain has increased, at its worst it's like a paint scraper has been plunged under my kneecap and violently jerked it up so an ice pick can be stabbed into my shin. My left leg and foot have swollen noticeably and will get larger, the skin shiny and red, as I go about my day. My leg and knee is weaker now and has made me nearly fall and has locked up once. Treatments and consults to date: *GP thought it a bursitis, gave me an NSAID and prednesone, got rid of all the knee swelling, did not touch the knot, *Ortho consult with x-ray, MRI, brace prescribed. *MRI results were unremarkable even though there was a slice that showed a marble like bony bump on my tuberosity. Ortho said it was not causing pain, dismissed it. *Ortho suggested lateral release because my cap was supposedly tilted though MRI report saw no ligament damage. He pointed out darkness "like eye shadow" they weren't sure of on my bone. He also pointed out white flecks under cap, swelling. *Urgent care twice for bad fatigue, body aches and severe pain, given a pain med, speculated about the knots being OSD. *Asked urgent care doc to run blood tests, one for RA. Had four kinds, nurse says they looked normal to her when I called for the results. *Sports med doctor I waited two hours to see, gave me five minutes of his time. Had x rays done but only played with them during the visit, did not put them on viewer. I even brought my MRI but all he did was see the report of a normal knee and didn't bother to look at it. After testing my knee and some questions said it was patellar tendinitis, called the bumps pathological, ignored my foot and gave me a new NSAID, told me to get off the tramatol, do PT and come again in 6weeks. I got a knee strap from a nurse, prescribed to me by doctor rushed off the door to his afternoon surgery rounds. The strap hurts, driving the pain into abscessed tooth category for being on the knots until it just sort of goes numb, the pain deadened but the feel and pressure of swelling remaining in joint, bone. Other details: Limb movement little impacted unless I kneel on knee, keep it bent or work the stairs-avoided I am 29, female, active, work in warehouse/shipping maintenance History of migraines, anemia, UTIs, shine splints, calcium deposits in the flesh around my heel, smoker, popaholic Despite relying more and more on right leg, though it tires or aches a bit, this is not happening to it. What can be wrong with me? Can anyone tell me how soft tissue problems affect bone to the point of reshaping it or what would it be besides the big C? Has anyone been through this and finally got a diagnosis proven by the treatment healing/correcting it? I think my doctors aren't taking my problems or concerns seriously and if they are, not explaining their reasons for not seeing it as anything serious. I hate how they seem to expect me to just take their word as gospel. This body may be owned by an ignorant but I think I deserve a little piece of mind. I go back to sports doc in six weeks and I plan not to step into another office until then. I hope I am better when I do, the strap and PT a thing of magic. I guess that leads to my last question. Since they seem to be dismissive, would there be any point or worth going to my GP before the six weeks is up if I find more knots or the ones I have get larger? Thank you for your time, Ashes
PAIN IN TOP OF MY FOOT AFTER INJURY? I was recently in Greece playin beach volleyball and me and an opposition both jumped at the net and he landed on ' the soft spot' on the top/outside of my foot. Anyway about ten minutes late my foot had swollen up and turned dark so I put ice onto the area for about 20 minutes . It's now been about a week and I'm still getting pain and aching in my foot and also the bruising is still apparent. Is there anything more I can do? Thanks
Cause and cure for top of the foot pain near toes...? This has gone on now for 3 weeks exactly..it's not getting worse, but not getting better. The only thing I can think of that might have caused it was I slipped but didnt fall...I have been to the doctor and they took xrays but there werent any fractures or breaks. I havent dropped anything or kicked anything or hit anything against it. It has become swollen on a few occasions. I can walk normally now, but still feel some pain. I cant run or jump yet...what could be the cause and what can I do to get the healing faster...it is on my left foot..I have enclosed a picture... http://www.flickr.com/photos/53358880@N06/4927953204/
Top of foot and arch pain...? I woke up a few days ago with pain in my arch and heel. It got a little better throughout the day, but I have had the same problem the last two days as well. Today, in addition to the arch and heel pain, I also have a patch on the top of my foot that is sore and tingly. There doesn't appear to be any swelling, bruising or breaks, and I haven't "hurt" my foot recently. It's not red or irritated looking at all. Any ideas? I bought some Dr. Scholls arch support inserts, but they don't seem to be helping. Help!
What to do about swelling foot that is tender to the touch? A couple of days ago the top of my foot began to have a sharp stinging pain when moved or touched. I then noticed that my foot had begun to swell. I went to my doctor who sent me to get a leg ultrasound and xray done but now he wants me to wait a week to check back in. My foot still hurts and is still swollen but I really don't want to wait a week to find out what is wrong. What should I do????
There is a pain on the top of my foot and it really hurts to walk. Is my foot bruised? I was walking into a building on campus last week and a girl pushed me and as I attempted to catch my balance, she then stepped on my foot. It hurt but I just shook it off. At the end of the week, it started to hurt really bad just walking around campus. I iced it a few times but the pain gets increasingly worse everyday. I can barely put pressure on it now. I think the bone might be bruised because there is no swelling or external bruising. Is it really a bruise or perhaps a fracture? I've tried ice and Ibuprofen but this only helps for a few hours, then gets worst again.
Pain on the top of my foot? I'm a college basketball player, and about 5 days ago I started noticing some pain on the superior lateral portion of my foot, over the 4th and 5th metatarsals. The pain wasn't too bad at fist, and I had felt similar pain before, so I didn't think anything of it, assuming it would go away the next day like it had in the past. It's been progressively getting worse each day, with the pain spreading to the entire top of my foot, and some pain referring to the lateral side of my ankle. I've noticed that if I stay in the half court, the pain isn't too bad unless I step on my foot a certain way. But following any type of running (even just once up and down the court) the pain becomes so severe that I can't run without a limp, and it continues to hurt severely until I rest it for an extended amount of time. The pain occurs when I shift my weight to the ball of my foot (and the foot bends to push off forwards), it's a sharp stabbing pain (feels like someone is crushing my foot with a hammer). I talked to our Athletic Trainer about it, and she initially diagnosed it as a mid-foot sprain, but said it could possibly be stress fractures. There is no swelling, and no tenderness to touch (unless the foot is caused to bend). I'm hesitant to go to the doctor, because if it turns out to be fractured, my basketball career is over. I'm planning on getting some custom orthotics, as recommended by one of my teammates. (we are currently on a 1 week break for Christmas, so I'm waiting to see if it heals during that time) Has anyone had experience with this, or have any ideas of what it could be? I'm also looking for ways to control the pain enough to continue playing through it if it doesn't go away. (I've tried a few different taping methods, but those seem to cause pressure on other parts of my foot causing more pain). With the position I'm at with this team, I can't afford to be injured (I'm the new walk-on player trying to secure a spot... I don't play much in games or practice scrimmages, so even if it is something more serious like a fracture, I could make it through the season with some pain management techniques, and then get it taken care of afterwards) Any advice?
What could be the cause of pain on top of the foot? I've had pain on the top area of my foot for a few weeks now, specifically around the metatarsal of the second toe. At first it was very mild, and after a few days of resting the pain went away. Recently I started exercising again (after a break of about a week) and the pain is back in the same spot. It hurts to walk or put a lot of pressure on the foot. It also hurts to press on the specific area. I have not noticed any bruises, swelling or marks since the pain began. I haven't suffered any trauma to the foot. I was working out regularly, including jumping rope. I've tried jumping rope since, but it causes too much pain to keep up. I was also trying to break in some leather boots, which may have been putting stress on the feet. However, it's only the one foot that has any problem. I will probably go to the doctor next week if the pain is still here. Any ideas what is cause of this, and what I can do to fix the problem?
Pain and swollen tendon on top of foot? im a runner and after i ran a 5k, which was on a lot of hard surface, my right big toe started bothering me. it did this during cc season too but i just ran through it. now the pain goes on top of my foot and it feels like the tendon that is connected to the big toe is swollen. when i move the toe its a very uncomfortable feeling, like the tendon is stretching over a bone and just rubbing against it. it hurts to move it up the most but also down. im thinking maybe tendinitis??
Increasing swelling and pain in Foot after Fibula Fracture? I recently fractured my Fibula, cast removed on 22/12, for the last 2 weeks have increasing pain in the top of my foot and 2 toes, very painful to walk, had an xray last week (thought I had broken a bone in my foot) xray showed porotic appearance? my foot is quite swollen . I am back to work and painkillers are not helping.
Constant foot pain for the first time? I'm 21 years old, have VERY flat feet..I've had custom orthodics my whole life because I am an athlete and my feet take quite the beating... This past college volleyball season, about a month in, my feet grew incredibly painful. Within 10 minutes of playing, they felt like they were in a clamp and someone just kept making it tighter and tighter. In the beginning, when I would stop playing, it would go away after awhile. As time progressed, they began to hurt ALL the time...I started limping, the top of my left foot ( about half-way between my ankle and the top of my toes by my little toe and second little toe) actually got swollen and was painful to the touch. Sometimes the pain would even be in my ankle. This went on the rest of the season, and I'd ice them before each game which helped maybe a little bit, but not really...my trainer told me I just had swelling in my feet and tried taping them as well, but that didn't help at all. Now season has been over for for almost 4 full months and the pain has subsided a bit, but I still have it- especially in the morning when I first wake up! Then after awhile I feel like they "warm-up" a bit and the pain goes away, but if I am on my feet all day, it returns again. It covers the entire bottom of my foot and in my heel. I went to my podiatrist and he gave me a shot of cortisone which didn't help at all. He said it could be heel spurs, but we haven't taken an x-rays Any ideas on what this could be? Thanks so much for your help!
Please help, bad foot pain!!!? So at first I went to my doctor and he put me in a plaster cast, the symptoms for that were: pain in achilles tendon (right foot), pain on the side of my foot, but no swelling. I got it off about 2 weeks ago and now: there's pain on the inside and outside (still right foot), when I'm not putting pressure on it, it feels like really bad and aching growing pain, where it mostly hurts is where you bend your foot on the top, and really bad swelling. Please give me suggestions of what it might be and do I need surgery. My docter said it should be back to normal after I got the cast off but it's not.
The top of my foot is in Serious pain... please what can I do? I was sparring today and I basically kicked a guy... he blocked the kick with his elbow and the top of my foot impacted and is now in SERIOUS PAIN. You know the soft part of the top of the foot? The little bump? Well mine is about twice as large now! I iced it and put some icy-hot on it, and took some "aleve" but I feel like someone is constantly slamming it with a hammer. What can I do to make this pain stop... swelling go down? Please I'm desperate.
Extreme pain on top of the foot...? Hi, So last Monday as in the 11th I had an intense basketball workout. After it I was feeling fine but the next morning I had extreme pain on the top of my foot. I though maybe I slept on it wrong but it still is hurting as much if not more. There is no swelling on the foot at all it looks the same as my other one. I have no recollection of any cause of the pain like a rolled ankle or anything it was just really sore the next day and still is. The pain is extremely intensified if I walk on it or jump. Also any sudden movements will trigger a burst of sudden pain. What should I do?? Doctor..? Crutches..? Wait see what happens..? Thanks to anyone who answers.. Hugh
Pain on top of foot from basketball? I was playing ball, and I'm not 100% sure, but I think I was running fast and then had to brake. As I suddenly stopped the middle of the top of my right foot hurted a sec. I ignored it and kept playing. After the game the I noticed the pain again and I slept and woke up and it's still there. There's no redness or swelling or anything on it. I can move it any way I like. It just hurts when I put pressure on the middle/front of my foot. If my weight is on my heels I'm fine. The pain isn't to the 'OMG it hurts' point, but it is bothersome and limits my exercising options. Could it be some kind of inflammation and NSAIDS can help maybe? Anyone ever experience something like this? Anyone know what it might be and how it might be treated? I got a game in 5 days, I need my foot back to normal.

I have pain in my ankle and top of my foot but no swelling. What is it? I recently ran a 5k, and while running I rolled my foot twice, but no pain came with that. A few days later my ankle started hurting extremely bad. After the pain went away I started to run again, this time with a brace on, the pain came back but even worse and now I can barely put weight on it. Like I said there is absolutely no swelling just a lot of pain in my ankle and the top of my foot near my ankle. HELP! Also...what type of doctor should I see if needed?
Sharp constant pain and swelling in foot. Over 5 years and doctors still can't find what's wrong.? My right foot has been in constant pain for 5 years. It hurts inside my foot around the arch and top of foot. Whenever I stand up, my veins in that foot bulge out more than the other foot. It is swollen a bit and is up to my calf, but only my foot hurts. I can barely even walk. I can't run at all or it'll hurt tremendously. I've been to doctors, had x-rays, mri's, nuclear mri's, for over 5 years and the doctors still can't find anything wrong. Please if there's anyone out there who can help, please, you'll save my life!

Pain on top of foot and ankle after sparring? I hurt my foot last week Saturday(06-10) while sparring ( I think I kicked a knee) It started to swell and turned very colorful until just a few days ago. But the pain is thil there. It hurts to walk, jump or run. Also I can't bend my foot, like when you stand up from a kneeling position. The pain spreads from the fifth to to the big toe and is worse between the third and the fifth. I can't wear my shoes and try to be without shoes as much as possible because the pressure of the shoe is really painful. Also on Saturday(6-18) I had the worst experience with my ankle I took a step, simirlar to the one this guy makes: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://blog.stack.com/wp-content/uploads/Prevent-Knee-Injuries-With-Increased-Ankle-Flexibility-629x353.jpg&imgrefurl=http://blog.stack.com/tag/mobility/&usg=__k6YB9ZiHGEhwprmZvVk0rSFPKzE=&h=353&w=629&sz=37&hl=en&start=282&zoom=1&tbnid=w2AkxeF5RuNBPM:&tbnh=91&tbnw=163&ei=JGf_TYXMC9SSgQectJneCw&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dankle%2Bpain%2Bafter%2Bextended%2Bstep%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26biw%3D1920%26bih%3D977%26tbm%3Disch&chk=sbg&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=1013&vpy=356&dur=649&hovh=168&hovw=300&tx=179&ty=91&page=5&ndsp=69&ved=1t:429,r:6,s:282&biw=1920&bih=977 And it was so painful. I couldn't talk nor breath and I almost started to cry. I cant even say if it was exactly my ankle but something close to it. I know I probably should just go and see a doctor but because of financial problems I want to see if anybody has an idea what I could do and maybe some tips, ideas? I am wearing an ankle support and feel like it helps but I am not sure. Help is appreciated.
Unexplained pain in foot? Last summer, I was diagnosed with stress fractures in my foot, in the ball of my foot. There is localized swelling in the top of my foot, between the first and second metatarsal, going from the joint to about halfway up my foot. I got xrays 9 months ago, and they were clean. They gave me a boot to wear that would take the pressure off my foot. That was a joke. Anyway... 3 months ago, I was playing wiffle ball, and while running home, felt a pop and immediate heat/burning in my bad foot, same place as the "stress fractures". I took my shoe off, and foot was swollen and blue. I went to the doctor three days later, and got an MRI. Came back clean. No stress fractures, no ligament or tendon damage. To this day, when I exercise, I feel a pulling in my foot, and pain. After exercise, it swells up again, and is once AGAIN, painful to the touch. I'm getting rather annoyed. I asked my doctor (Orthopedic specialist and sports doctor) what it could be, and all he said was to wear the boot when it hurts. Any ideas?
Small insect bite on foot, swelling and immense pain when it moves? My foot started to hurt a little this afternoon, and I didn't think much of it. But now it's been a few hours and there's a spot that's swollen around a tiny raised bump. The swollen area is about 1 1/2 to 2 inches in diameter, and is clearly raised up. The pain is horrible, I can't move my toes or walk. The swollen area is pink, but not red or anything. I think it's an insect bite, but I've tried to figure out what it could be and I haven't found any info. Could it be a bite on top of another problem? Also I tried putting ice on it but that didn't help. And I took benadryl in case it was a slight allergic reaction, but that hasn't done anything. Any help or advice would be very appreciated. Thanks!!! Also, it's not itchy at all, and there isn't any weeping or anything I can move my toes, it just hurts really bad when I do. And I live in South Carolina
How to cure my foot swelling? Im 28 years old. And when I was around 18 I noticed that my right calve would swell up all the time mostly in the summer the swelling would come and go. I figured since I walked alot that could be the problem. I went to the doctor and they said it could be improper shoes or too much salt in my diet. Over time the swelling moved from my leg to my ankles, Then on day around age 23 I was running for the bus and I guess I pulled a muscle in my foot because I had a bad pain in the top of my foot and my foot swelled up and stayed swollen for a whole month. I went to the hospital and they ran blood test for my kidneys and said it wasn't that and they ruled out heart problems from my family history. and they sent me home with a hurting foot. The swelling went away for a awhile until 2 years ago when I got a really bad pain in the arch of my foot and the swelling came back and has been on going. Usually when I wake up in the morning the swelling is almost gone. but soon as I stand up for a few minutes it comes back. Some time it swells so bad the arch of my foot becomes slightly sore. I went to the doctor and they ruled out any kidney problems, diabetes and asked me about my pattern of swelling and pained and ruled out heart problems and I had chest x-rays before because I was having frequent anxiety attacks so they checked my heart and the doc told me if I had heart problems it would of showed on both x-rays. They just told me to wear a stocking to keep down swelling. I notice if I fast and don't eat, the swelling goes down If I stand for a long time it gets worst Its not painful If I wear tight shoes there is no swelling If I eat greasy salty foods it comes again Should I be concerned? I'm only 28, Slim (but haven't been exercising regularly in years) and all my annual blood test come out normal, blood pressure is always normal, sugar levels normal. I have been diagnosed with PCOS and thinking that can be a factor in this.
Top of foot pain: broken or something else? I am 19 and fell at the beach today and the top of my foot hurt a lot for about and hour or so. It is now about 5 hours later and is not bruised that I can tell or swollen at all but it hurts still some. It feels a little stiff and hurts if I try to point my toes or flex my foot up. Also, there is a spot on my foot that if I touch it, it feels bruised. I can walk perfectly fine, it only hurts if I step a weird way. Is this something I should go to a doctor for? Could it be broken even if not bruised or swollen? Thanks.
Top of foot hurts since wearing steel toe boots? I started a new job that requires me to wear steel toe boots. About a year after starting, the top of my foot is hurting. The toe next to the pinky toe is swollen as well. It started off as a dull pain but has since become almost unbearable. Any correlation with steel toe boots and top of the foot pain? I haven't hurt it as far as I know.
Stress fracture of the foot? ? im a black belt in karate, taking classes vigourously several times a week. recently went to karate camp, was constantly running, practicing, and on my feet in general. foot began hurting gradually, it was good and sore after 3 days. whole top of foot in pain, swollen, limping. has been 3 weeks since, still some swelling. pain is bad and still limping. did a "self diagnosis," and 2nd metatarsal hurts immsensly when toes are bent forward and the protruding bone is pressed on. i plan on seeing a doctor soon but would like some assurance before class tonight..
Pain on the top of my foot from running, what happened? So last Saturday I ran about 6 miles, I normally do 3-4 about 3-5 times per week. On Sunday the top of left foot was sore(bruised feeling), and my foot looked and felt swollen. I did not run until Thursday. Foot is a little sore and swollen, have some tingling like feeling sometimes on top. I know, I probably should lay off for a week or two. I had a goal to do 70 miles this month and I have about 10 to go. Any idea what I did?
Pain on top of foot, please help!? I just got home from a volleyball match and i have a stabbing pain on the top inner part of my left foot whenever I walk. I don't think it's swollen, but there are 2 faint blackish blue skinny streaks. Does anyone have a clue what this may be?
Foot Numbness and pain help/experience/advice please? For the past 3 months or so I have been getting numbness/pain in my right foot. It began with numbness on the top of the foot round the 3rd/4th metatarsals and then progressed to pain, this then improved but my 5th metatarsal tendon then became inflammed and painful, now this has subsided but the numbness has come back and is now under the foot/toes as well! I am wondering what this is and how to fix it! There is no swelling but my 3rd and 4th metatarsals heads may have dropped slightly. I am a keen runner/triathlete and have reluctantly backed off training but it hasn't really helped, have been seeing a physio too. Has anyone else had a similar experience and if so how did you treat it? Thanks

sharp pain, top of foot? for the past couple of days i have had a sharp pain on the top of my foot. it started out slight, only hurting when i walked which caused me to limp. but now, about a week later it aches when im resting it, and when i do walk the top of my foot has sharp pain, and sharp pain shoots up the side of my calf. it also hurts pretty bad to flex my toes or to stretch my foot. you have to really look at it to see that its only slightly swelled and only slighty pink on the top of my foot. i tried researching on the internet but i cant really find anything to match my symptoms. anyone know what this might be? and what i should do? ive tried over the counter pain killers and ice packs and nothing seems to help D:
Constant foot pain and swelling for 3 weeks. Now mass on top of foot. What's wrong? Ok so for the past 3 weeks my foot has been swollen at the base of my toes. It's also hurts whenever pressure is applied to this area as well as the very top of my foot where the joint is. The pain and swelling have been a constant this entire time. However, today I noticed something new. On the top of my foot right below where the pain is I noticed some discoloration, like when your really cold and your skin turns purple and white. Well I didn't think much of it, but when I ran my hand over it the white parts were large lumps on my foot. Although the other foot has a similar texture it's much more pronounced on the hurt foot. There's also a bunch of tiny red dots around the lumpy part. I'm worried that something might be really wrong with my foot. Any idea what it is?
Persistent pain and swelling in left foot, now there's a mass, what's wrong? Ok so I already asked this, but I wasn't really getting any answers. Pain and swelling in top of foot? So I went to skyzone on Saturday. And my foot was perfectly fine then. But as the night went on, it kept getting worse. It's now Thursday and it's been swollen and painful for like 4 days now. All the pain is like a half an inch from my ankle. Which is also swollen. Just the lower part though. I can't walk on it without it hurting. Any ideas what this could be? Thanks :)

Knee and foot pain. Have you ever experienced any pain like this? If so what did you do and what was it? I started playing soccer 2 years ago for super league. At the begging of training this year my knees would always have pain under the bone after training. But recently my right foot has started to have terrible amount of pain in it during training. When i got home my foot was swollen. The next day i couldnt walk on it hurt that much it was still swollen but this time it was bruised aswell. Now today 3 days after it happened the pain is faintly their. The pain is in the middle of the inside of my foot and on the top on the right side near my ankle bone. What do you think it is?
Foot pain on top of my right foot...? Any advice would be helpful. This week I started to get the sharp pain when I walk or try to bend my foot. The pain is located on top of my foot (mid-foot) and there is some swelling. There is no black or blue anywhere on my foot. About two weeks ago I tripped while walking and my foot hit a loose brick on the sidewalk...the pain didn't start until a week later. I also take Boot Camp classes every week and it started to hurt the day after my class. I have been looking online and there are many things that could be wrong. Does this sound like a Lisfranc injury or just a possible strain. I can't walk without limping and I certainly can't run. I took 4 days off from working out and it still isn't any better. It actually hurts more this week than last. I can't get into a doctor for another week...which is why I am writing on here for any advice. Thank you. It also at times feels like my foot needs be cracked badly.
top of foot pain in left foot? I have pain in the top of my left foot including throbbing pain in my big toe and pain down the side of my big toe to the bone connecting it. I have had this pain for about 4 days with the last 2 days becoming increasingly worse to the point that I can not stand up or walk or even sleep without massive pain. I did not injure it since I do not run or exercise or play sports or anything. I am a few pounds shy of 400 pounds if that has any effect. The area around and on the side and on the bottom of my big toe is somewhat swollen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TY
Why is my fractured foot, cuboid bone, and swelling causing such pain and swelling not going down? My right foot was stomped on, and I mean full force by a work horse sized horse. The horse was standing quietly beside me when something spooked it. She jumped straight up in the air, landing square over the top of my foot, I then had to push her off me. I was wearing thick rubber boots, not steel toed as those can sever toes. I felt my foot swell and fill my boot, I knew this was coming so I pulled the boot off, which involves prying on a normal day. My husband tore the boot as far as he could down to heel, still had to pry out. Emergency room, said cubic bone fracture, send me home with a boot. No way that was going on, foot swelled 3 times its size. Cannot extend foot flat without pain radiating about where cubic bone is and to underside of foot where pad of foot is, below last 3 toes. The soft tissue on top of foot feels like tendons are broken, too tight, or not lying correctly. Foot is still swollen on top, draining sore that stopped draining and feels a hard type of squishy, not soft like water blister. Causes burning in foot.to bend ankle. Mri showed no compartment syndrome. 3 weeks later, 2 Dr. Visits, no cast, cannot stand foot wrapped as front of foot, front of ankle hurts severely. One of the worst parts is if I .lower .my foot at all, as if to step down, the pain and pressure almost kills me. I have been on complete bedrest 3 weeks, elevated, icing. What can I do to lower swelling? I have even tried clay poultice. This is awful as I can't get around at all!
foot pain (top of the foot)? I just started lacrosse this season and about 4 days ago after my game i felt an aching/cramp kind of feeling on the top of my foot. The pain is still here, but doesnt bother me when i run, only after. Along the bone connected to my big toe is where it hurts the most. There isn't any significant swelling, only alittle and its alittle red and hurts to touch around. What could this be? It hurts the most when i curl my toes up and down..
