Stomach pains in children only at night? My sister is 8 years old, and she gets a stomach ache only at night. This happens about 1 hour or two after dinner. She says that it hurts more when she pushes on her stomach near the belly button area. She usually feels nauseated as well. However the pain eventually goes away in about half an hour. But this time, it took a little longer for the pain to go away. This has been going on for about a week now. Does anyone have any idea what this might be? We've been to the doctor but they didn't say much.

Odd stomach pains from children? I have a six year old brother who has had stomach pains for approx a year and a half to two years and is now frequently throwing up after meals. Does anyone have any experiences such as this with their own children or ones that they know of, and if so what was the diagnosis and cure? The family pediatrician has put him on antacid medication but it does not seem to be effective in the treatment. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Stomach pain in child? Since this morning my 9 year old daughter has been having a type of stomach cramp that emanates from around her navel. It is a mild constant pain, with severe cramping sometimes one after another that comes and goes. There's no vomiting or diarrhea, has normal stools and can urinate fine. She says that she constantly feels as if she’s hungry and describes it as a constant hunger pain, or as if someone is repeatedly punching her in the stomach. Eating or drinking doesn’t make it go away, lying still doesn’t either. When moving around it is less noticeable except during the severe cramp like pains, then she has to sit down. It wasn’t too bad while at school, she just assumed that she was hungry but even after lunch it still didn’t go away and came home saying that she was starving. After eating, it still didn’t subside and the cramping seems to be more frequent and more intense. I can't help but think of colitis, but wouldn't there be diarrhea, constipation or bloody stools?
stressed out, stomach pains, 2 children one w/special needs, cant sleep, maybe getting divorce. not happy, help Its been a long time coming but I think that my husband and I are at our witts end trying to make this work. We're not happy. Im always stressing over everything. I feel like I'm doing all of my sons doctor things on my own (he's special needs). We have another son whos only 9 months and is a daddys boy. I can only get to sleep no earlier than 1:30 and I wake up at 5:30, but in between that time I'm constantly waking up. And I will be 21 on monday, I'm just so young to have all of these things on me. I love my husband and I want to make him happy. But I need to be happy too. All of this is making me sick to my stomach. Anyone else gone through this? I'm willing to do counsling but i'm not 100% sure if my husband is. I know we've talked about it before and he thought it was silly. We'll talk about it tonight. And I'm going to the dr. tmrw (made the appt. earlier this morning:) ) i'm hoping to get something to help me with my sleep problem and maybe something for stress/anxiety/depression. man, having kids and being young sure can put a hurtin on you! I'm trying to deal with all of this best as I can. And yes, I do have family to turn to. And i'm hoping for my birthday they'll watch my boys for me so my husband and I can FINALLY have some alone time. maybe we'll get a hotel on the beach? I'm really stoked about it-just hope everything will work out for us. I'm willing to do whatever it takes :)

31 weeks pregnant stomach pain from older child? I'm 31 weeks pregnant and my 2 1/2 year old had a fit and kicked me in my stomach really hard 3 times its been just over a half hour and it still hurst as if she had just done int. Should the pain have gone away by now? Should I get it checked out or just wait it out? Thank you to everyone who responded. I did call my Dr and she actually told me she would feel more comfortable for me to come in and get checked so nothing like spending an hour in the labor and delivery to be monitored for amost an hour Christmas morning! But everything is fine and going helped me feel better about the whole situation. My daughter felt so bad that even the next morning she asked if I was ok. I guess Christmas Eve was too much excitement for her because she did that at bedtime and for all you moms that know bedtime can be one of the hardest times of the day other than nap time.
Why do I pass out from pain? All my life I have passed out from pain. Probably about 15 times or more in total (i'm 34 now) I've passed out from falling and hitting my knee, clotheslining myself while playing tag as a child, stomach pains etc. More recently, from an IV needle in my hand that hit a nerve, and from a sudden tooth pain) The thing is, they weren't the worst pains I've had. I had gallbladder stones, and labour pains, that were really bad, and I didn't pass out from those. So why is this. I assume my blood pressure drops, but why? I don't want to discuss with my Dr, because they will likely take my license away. (although this has never happened when driving) Any thoughts?
Informations on chronic stomache pain in children? The doctor said our daughter is lacking the good bacteria in her stomach (Lactobacillus acidophilus), has anyone ever heard of this and had to deal with this. Sally is 6 and I would really like to see her enjoying her childhood, instead of being on the couch or in bed because she's in pain. She is a wonderful child and her sisters don't understand why she doesn't want to play with them. She just tells me "my stomach hurts", " I don't feel good" , " I'm feel like I'm going to throw up" , or " I'm hungry but it hurts to bad to move" My peanut is only 41# and 6 years old, I want to help her so bad, she loves wrestling and I don't want this to come between the things she loves to do any longer. Thanks for any help all. What about that yogurt called ACTIVA? We went to the dr's on wed. and they did an xray, she is suspected to be impacted pretty bad, she's waiting to confirm with the radiologist then plan a course of action. i'll update more as i find out info thanks all for the answers. i've been dealing with these doctors for 2 years and this is the first time they decided to do something other than just perscribe something
Acid Stomach in Children? 11 days ago my 4 year old daughter had some sort of sickness bug where she was vomiting and had loss of appetite. She got over that but ever since had been complaining of 'burning' pains in her stomach. She has been to the doctor twice and see two different GP's who have ruled out appendicitis, cystitis or bowel problems and her glands are fine. They think the retching from the initial bug may have strained the valve between her oesophagus and stomach and she is suffering from reflux which will hopefully get better over time. She has been prescribed gaviscon. Meanwhile she is waking 2-3 times a night crying in pain. Has anyone else had this in their child? For how long did it last? Any tips for helping her aside for persevering with the gaviscon?

Everytime I cough I have a shooting pain in my stomach? I'm now on my 4th child and every time I cough I get this hugh pain in stomach. It's never happened with any of my other children. Is it just because I'm sick and coughing up blood from my cold or is it something different???
Stomach pain every time I eat something acidic or spicy.? A couple of weeks ago I ate some hot spicy doritos. I have before, and I don't know why that day would be any different. However, at night I had the worst stomach ache I had EVER had. I was sweating, my teeth were chattering, I was shaking and I kept drifting in and out of consciousness. It was like someone stapling up my stomach and then ripping it apart. I thought I was going to die. And now, where I used to have a great tolerance with spicy foods and acidic foods, I had orange juice I was in pain, yesterday I had quron chilli and now it feels like my stomach is bruised. I went to the doctors the day after the stomach pain and he laughed at me when I suggested a stomach ulcer, (I'm 14) but I looked online and children can get stomach ulcers. Do you know what it could be? Thank you so much. :)
Right sided 'stomach' pain in 11 year old child? I have an 11 year old daughter who has been complaining of stomach pain for approx 10 days now. The pain started quite suddenly saturday before last with severe nausea (no vomiting) and some diarrhea which lasted through the week. When asked where the pain was she found it quite difficult to point it out 'it hurts everywhere' she was saying. Her temperature was a stable 98 and I just put it down to one of the many winter stomach bugs. By the following Sunday the pain had localised to her right side - below the belly button. The pain comes and goes and varies in intensity, something it settles to a dull ache. I have taken her to see our family doctor who didn't seem that concerned at all. He had a feel of the area and she promptly burst in to tears with the pain - yet he sent us home with 30mg Codeine tablets to ease her pain - I did question this as she is already slightly constipated. I asked if there was a chance of it being her appendix 'grumbling' and he said it's utter nonsense and appendix do not 'grumble' - you either have full blown appendicitis or you don't. Anyone had experience of this? I have her back to see another GP tomorrow and if they don't take it seriously I'm going to take her to A&E. I don't believe it's period related either. Thanks to all.. I'm not going to end tomorrow without some answers. I won't see the same doctor again - have already made an appointment with another. I will asked for him to refer us to the hospital for tests. I'm keeping a close eye on her temp which hasn't changed and the level of pain she's complaining about. I wish doctor would make their bloody minds up about which illnesses exist and which don't.
pain in lower left side of stomach after child birth? hi i had my baby 5 weeks ago, when i was in labour i was feeling pain over my lower left side around my ovaries(not like a contraction pain) the pain continued after baby was born i was seen by a doctor who thought it could be constipation but now 5 weeks on i am still getting the pain its a very sharp pain that only lasts a few seconds then goes any idea what it could be? childrens stomach pain? My nine year old daughter has been complaining of stomach pain for the past few days. I gave her some Pepto and she was fine. It is a on again/off again pain. She states it is below her below button pain (sort of the area where I would get mestrual cramps). I asked her if she had used the bathroom (bowel movement) and she stated yes, she had and it was normal. This morning, she woke up and has a fever of 100.9 with this. She is going to the doc today, but I was just wondering if any of your children had this sort of pain, if so, what did it end up being. She had this same thing happen almost a year ago, she would be doubled over in pain and a few minutes later, she would be fine. I took her to her doc and they referred her to a specialist and they could find nothing wrong. Her doc prescibed her some antiacid-like meds and that seemed to work for the time, but I am wondering why its back again. Should I have them check something else?
pain in stomach, around belly button? Young child, 5 years old has stomach pain. Says it's around the belly button. Almost doubles over in pain. Cries. But can't really describe the feeling. Tried making a bowel movement, didn't help and has gone today and past few days (not constipated), peed (didn't help), ate (no help). Also, had diarrhea like 2 days ago after eating. But that subsided (don't know if that's of any relation to pain now) Any one else experience this, any ideas on what could it be? My husband had appendicitis as did his siblings and mother, but he had it when he was older and could describe the pain better. Any help would be appreciated, thank you
how can you tell if your child has the stomach flu or appendicitis? she has a fever, cough ,really bad stomach pains till she is in tears and feels nausa. the dr says it's probly the stomach flu but i feel like it's something else. i know you all are not drs but i would like some tips please. she hasnt thrown up and it's been hurting since yesterday morning no one else in the house is sick just her she is 6 yrs old.
excruciating stomach pain that radiates to the back and sternum? For the past few weeks i've been having this "episodes" one minute im in no pain at all and then all of a sudden i get this excruciating pain in my upper abdomen sternum and upper back between the shoulder blades i can get no relief at all i can't lay down i can't walk i can't do anything but get on my hands and knees and try to hold my breath. I went to the E.R for this they did blood tests said nothing was wrong. But i am pretty convinced it is gallbladder attacks or something the pain is so severe it's worse than labor pains when you have a child. I am unable to do anything at all when these "episodes" attack they last about an hour sometimes i have more than one a night...last night i had two right after one another. has anyone ever heard of this or might know what it is???
I'm 33 weeks pregnant with my second child and Having pain what could this be? When the baby moves I gets a very bad pain shooting through my stomach and even sometimes when he/she isn't moving I'll get very sharpe pains. Sometimes it feels like if the baby moves to fast it will come out. My friend who is prgnant and is 31 weeks feels the same way. Why is this happening , but it never happened with my first child. Does this mean I will go in labor earlier ? Or maybe the baby is heavier than my last baby.
my girlfriend always has stomach pains, ever since i met her 2 yrs ago,plz hlp? she apparently has always been in pain there, ever since she was a child, the pains are usually down below her belly button but recently, about 2 weeks ago,the pains have spread to her whole stomach and continuing to stay in that area, now she has sore legs, red patches on her thighs(collapsed down the stairs last night) and a sore throat, mainly when she swallows, probably not related, and she is also 16 if that helps, she is also on the pill, been on it since 15,also faints once in a while please help
My child is six years old and has severe stomach pains around the belly button and burns really bad.? I would really like to have some answers to this problem. Is this something that I need to worry about? Please help me I am really worried about him he is in alot of pain and is crying. He always cries with his belly hurting. I have had him to the doctor and they have not told me anything. This is somthing that has went on for about 3 years and no doctor has helped me. It's not like I am ignoring his pain because i'm not. I have even took him to a specialist. They have tried to tell me that it is acid reflux but he don't hurt where acid is supposed to hurt you. He is on acid med and it does'nt help his pain. I just need some answers from someone that might know what is going on. He really hurts worst of a night after he lays down for bed.

Is it normal to have strange pains in your stomach two years after child birth? Ever since I gave birth, my body hasn't felt normal. Like, tonight, it felt like something popped up between my rib cage. It was extremely uncomfortable, but it mostly scared me. This sounds crazy, but I feel like my insides are moving around or something. Like when I carry my daughter on my hip something pops out on the other side of my belly. I'm nervous about it! Is it normal? Thank you for any help you can give!

Headaches in the evenings about once a week so severe he has to go to sleep or he will vomit. He has missed eight days of school and as soon as he vomits and takes a nap he wakes up feeling normal. I am 100% this is not school related he has all A's and has many friends. I am very close to his teacher and she says there are no problems at school with the other children.

What could cause my child to be dizzy, nauseous, and have severe stomach pain for so long? My 9 year old son has been suffering from dizziness accompanied by stomach pain for over 2 weeks. His doctor said he did have some fluid in his ears but no infection so not to worry. But he's getting worse. Still no fever but he can't make it through the school day without vomiting. His behavior has become uncharacteristically aggressive and hateful, maybe just from feeling badly for such a long time. I'm worried enough that I am taking him back to the doctor today. What illness do these symptoms indicate. It can't be simply caused by a little uninfected fluid in his ears can it? I don't know what to ask the doctor, last week he told me my son just needed to buck up and get back to school... Any professional advice available?

Why do people come to the United States for health care? When they have the rest of the world to choose from? Visitors seeking U.S. health care fret over work By Ramit Plushnick-Masti, Associated Press GIBSONIA, Pa. — A bright girl with dark curls crowning her face, Matisse Reid has been sick all her life with a rare disorder that prevents her body from absorbing nutrients. She nibbles on beet salad for lunch, but Matisse's real meal — fats, nutrients and fluids — come from an intravenous line running from her backpack to a vein in her stomach. After six years of IV feedings, the pressure on her liver is becoming life-threatening and she is running out of usable veins. Often, she is doubled over with chronic pain and vomiting. After months of fundraising in their native New Zealand, Wayne and Jodee Reid, Matisse's parents, packed up their family of six and traveled 8,500 miles to Pittsburgh for a multi-organ transplant that could save their 6-year-old daughter's life. As they wait for a stomach, bowel and pancreas to become available, the Reids must draw from $260,000 they raised, money they are counting on to carry them through the years it will take Matisse to recover from her operation. Like other foreign families in the United States to obtain lifesaving medical care, the Reids are here on tourist visas, which do not allow them to find jobs. Families say that makes it more difficult to sustain themselves on the long journey of saving their children's lives, adding to their anxiety. "At the end of the day, we're just parents trying to do what's best for their children," Jodee said as Matisse, who is often in pain, played upstairs in the home they rent in this Pittsburgh suburb. The Reids arrived in Pittsburgh in January, expecting to spend about three years here for Matisse's operation and long recovery. But with the wait for the transplants expecting to take eight months to a year, they now realize they may have to stay closer to five years — and it's unclear whether the money they raised will be enough. If they spend only $60,000 annually — a tight stretch for a family of six — the money will run out in about four years. Often, coming to the United States is the only choice for families seeking complicated transplants, leaving people who have always worked dependent on charitable people and organizations. On rare occasions, they are forced to return home. "There's no provision whatsoever, even for humanitarian grounds, to allow these people to work," said Bruce Larson, director of the international personnel office at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., which treated about 8,000 foreigners last year at its hospitals, including several hundred children. The federal government does not track how many of the millions of people who come here on tourist visas are seeking medical care. Working with the Mayo Clinic and St. Jude's Hospital in Memphis, Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., said he plans to sponsor a bill that would grant work permits to parents of children who need more than six months of medical care. But it could get hung up in the bitter debate over immigration reform. Cohen wants to attach his bill to the broader reform legislation, which collapsed in the Senate in June. "I should hope it would have support. It's logical, it's humane," Cohen said. "I can't imagine anyone thinking this would be a security risk. It's just a humanitarian issue." Matisse was born on Christmas Day 2000 with chronic idiopathic intestinal pseudo-obstruction, a disorder in which the small or large intestines lose their ability to contract and push food, stool and air through the gastrointestinal tract. It affects fewer than 200,000 people in the United States and is most common in children and the elderly. The cause is unknown but symptoms include severe bowel problems — from vomiting and diarrhea to chronic pain. Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, where Matisse is awaiting the triple transplant, treats fewer than 30 international patients a year. Years of lobbying convinced the New Zealand government to cover the $1.4 million cost of Matisse's planned transplants. Independently, the Reids also raised nearly $260,000 in donations to sustain Matisse and her three siblings — Rachel, 15, Kalani, 9 and Fraanz, 2 — during the years it will take Matisse to recover. "It's only the highly motivated or those with some resources to raise money to come to another country, whether it's England, France or the United States, can come," said Dr. George Mazariegos, director of pediatric transplants at Children's Hospital. "Right now the care is very disproportional to the need." Intestinal transplants have been done only about 1,300 times since 1989, nearly all in the United States, Mazariegos said. A study by a group of doctors in Columbus, Ohio, found that of eight children who underwent such transplants, two died a short while later. Of those who survived, the study found their lifestyles were significantly improved and at least three had normal bowel movements within 18 months. For the hundreds of foreigners who come to America every year seeking medical care, the issue of finances is ever present. Sometimes, medical care can take years, putting families in a financial bind. According to immigration attorneys, there are two alternatives for foreigners to receive work permits, and both are rarely effective. A family can open a small business. However, to ensure the business is viable they must invest at least $100,000. In this case, the owners of the business would have their visa status changed and they would get working papers. Getting hired by a research institute, such as a university, can also provide a work visa. However, there are just a few thousand such visas issued annually and they normally expire within days of the lottery. Non-profit research institutes, such as hospitals, do have an unlimited number of work visas that they can issue annually and a foreigner hired by such an institution could get working papers as well. Wayne Reid is a carpenter by trade and desperately wants to work — to keep busy and earn money for the family. He said he was offered under-the-table odd jobs but he refuses to do anything that might jeopardize his daughter's treatment.
Are there any test to find out if your stomach muscles are torn? 2 years ago I had a tummy tuck. Up to now I felt no pain but lately I have been feeling a lot of tenderness in different spots in my stomach along with sensations of like something is tearing apart. I will admit i have gain 15 pounds due to medications for depression. Will a CT Scan or MRI show if my muscle tissues are ripping apart? If so which one is better? I'm scared, I swear this has me paranoid. And in case you want to scrutanize me for not excersing I do work out. Unfortunately after having children your stomach doesnt go back to being the way it used to be. and the reason i'm on depression medication is BECAUSE MY SISTER, MY GRANDMOTHER AND MY GRANDFATHER PASSED AWAY WITHIN WEEKS OF EACH OTHER. So please no rude answers since that is not what I am looking for
Stomach pain, is this bad? I'm watching my nephew and had him overnight and have been lifting him and bending over a lot. He is 8 months old and I'm 22 weeks pregnant. Last night and this morning I have had sharp pains in my abdomen like I pulled something. Is lifting him etc.. doing me harm. I guess I would not have thought so being that many women have 1 or more kids while pregnant. I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced that when taking care of your younger children while pregnant.
C-section 4 weeks ago and now stomach pain? I had my third child by c-section 4 weeks ago and now after I eat or drink anything, even just drinking water or eating a piece of bread, my stomach feels like it's been punched. I feel like I have a build up of gas and it only goes away if I lay down and massage my stomach. Anyone else ever had this?? How do I break a voodoo curse? My neighbour has put a voodoo curse on me, she snuck up behind me and pulled some of my hair out, then she ran away and said that i was going to pay for what i did to her children. The very next day I had a really bad pain in my stomach, the doctor thinks it might be an ulcer or possibly something worse, i am getting further tests. I am pretty certain that its the curse at work. How can I reverse the effects of a voodoo curse?
What could be causing this extreme stomach pain? Been to ER several times!!!? For the past 3 almost 4 months I have been suffering from moderate to severe upper abdomen pain. I have had low grade fevers on and off, and have been to 3 different emergency rooms. Each one can not figure what is wrong. I have had an ultra-sound from my heart all the way to my ovaries. I have recently had a Upper GI scope done at the local Children's Hospital and that came back clear. The pain is in the upper stomach under the rib cage. The feeling is almost like crampy, burning, sharp type pin, and it can come on quite sudden. They have tested and know that I do not have an ulcers, cancer, or tumors, and they have tested the Carbon levels in my stomach too. I've changed the types of foods I eat and everything, it happens at the most random times. When this first happened for the first two months I was throwing up and some was bloody and the doctors have yet to find out why that was happening too. Below is a detailed list of my symptoms. Can anyone think of anything else that could be causing this?? Thank you. Upper ab pain. Moderate to severe. Seems burning, achey, crampy, and sharp. Low grade fevers on and off. Always tired. My period this month was about 2 weeks late. I am 16 and there is NO CHANCE I am pregnant. Thanks!
childrens stomach pain..? Should I have them check something else?

in so much pain HELP? So a while back at 8 weeks they found a clot behind my placenta. They put me on bedrest because they didn't know anything else to do. They said it would probably go away by the time I'm 18 weeks or before. Well i'm at 21 weeks right now and I'm in soo much pain. I bleed for 2 days at a time bright red and so heavy that I ruined all of my clothes. Then i'll go a day or two with just brown blood but still filling the pad ever 2 hours or so. Now i'm passing huge clots and having tons of cramping. Went back to the ER yesterday and they did another sonogram and said that it got Bigger since they last looked at it over a week and a half ago. They just sent me home on strict bedrest and I have to go see a high risk pregnancy doctor in about a week. I'm in soo much pain right now. My stomach is cramping and having sharp pains going up and down my stomach. I thinkI should go back to the er but I called my doc office and they said NO that there is nothing they can do and I should only come back if i'm leaking clear fluid. Why can't they do something or give me something to help with the cramping?? it's not like i can just sit around all day on bedrest. I have two other children here at home that need my attention. Anyone that went through this please tell me if there is anything they can do.
What is the difference between back labor and feeling it in your stomach? Has anyone had both? I feel like I didn't experience the same type of pain as other women after talking to my sister in law today. What I experienced was very deep sharp pains in my back.. after being started on pitocin. The pain was so excruciating that I swore I would never have a child again without an epidural. But now I'm wondering if contractions are different for those who experience it otherwise. I did not experience any pain in the front of my stomach, just in my lower back. Is this back labor and would it be less painful if it was in the front. It would be nice to not have an epidural but I tell you 24 hours of labor in that type of pain and I don't think I could have made it
I have pain in my Liver? I have pain in my Liver? I have had a pain in the area around my Liver/Gallbladder since March last year and it is not going away. I have had a scan and a camera down and they say that there are no ulcers or signs of any problems in my throat/stomach/start of intestine. The ultrasound showed no gallstones or enlargement and no enlargement of the liver. I have been on anti depressant medication for 14 yrs. But have never been told that long term use could cause Liver damage. It started off as a feeling of pressure (exactly like a babys foot digging in - I have had 2 children so know) and then has gradually turned into a dull ache but have no other symptoms. It never stops, doesn't change is just...there. Am going back to doc in 2 weeks. Any ideas? Obviously I am worried about liver cancer or disease or pancreatic/gallbladder cancers etc. Would like to hear from people who know anything about it.....please no scare mongerers doing it for fun. Bx
A Moral Marijuana Conundrum? I have decided to write a thesis paper about a person who I intimately know that is going through a moral conundrum. With his permission to openly share his story, I have decided to take a new angle, and ask random people to see what kinds of responses I can tabulate. I am currently attending school to become a licensed clinical therapist, and any opinions you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Please include your age, gender, and state where you live in, in your reply! So, let me give you some back story to this person. For the intentions (and anonymity) of this posting, we will call this person George. There are several factors we need to consider when answering this question. George has been in recovery for the past nine years from narcotics. George has not touched a drug in that nine years, other then the occasional social drink with friends. George is completely comfortable with their choice about drinking, and is not habitual by any means. George does not use any other prescribed drugs currently. George decided that the best way to share his knowledge about the recovery process, and to help teenagers was to become an Addictions Specialist himself. George has been working in the addictions field for over five years, and has helped many people overcome their battles with narcotics and alcohol. George currently works as a preventions specialist, working on changing the youth's views before they become addicted to any substances. George works in a school as a "preventions" teacher, as well as for an agency that supports people through their recovery process. George is no longer a formal counselor at this time, and only works in the preventions field. George recently fell ill. He saw doctor after doctor, and had test after test done, until he decided not to undergo anymore. George has been dealing with a stomach ailment for the past three years that no doctor can seem to identify, but has similarity to IBD, and Chrohnes. George eats food, and suffers (at times) excruciating to moderate stomach pains that were only barely controlled with over the counter, and prescribed medications. The doctors all told George to take Vicodin for the pain, Anti-Spasmodics for the stomach cramping, Immodium, Pepto, Tums, Zantac, the list goes on and on. One day George decided that enough was enough, and took control of his own life. He researched medicinal Marijuana use, and talked to some of his friends that currently smoked. He felt that the help that this drug could provide outweighed the risks. The opportunity presented itself one day where George was yet again in pain from his stomach, and decided to smoke some marijuana to see if it would work (alleviate his pain)or not. Not only did it work, but it almost instantaneously sedated George's stomach pains. No other drug had worked that effectively or as fast before.George didn't have to run to the bathroom, or sit in agony, or take five different medications, he just had to have a couple of "pulls" and he legitimately felt better. Now George has a moral conundrum. He works as a preventions teacher, and part of his curriculum is to teach youth about the "evils" of marijuana. While his personal views have changed, his professional opinion remains that of "all drugs can become abusive". George also struggles with the morality issues of being a preventions specialist and at times counselor who is currently using marijuana to alleviate his pain; he feels he is a hypocrite, even though he knows he is doing a great job with the youth. George does not live in a state where marijuana is legal, in his state it is only decriminalized. George has a great family that he loves and takes care of, and several children in which he is a very active father with. George gives his all in his job, and is not lazy by any means. George never smokes during the his workdays and only smokes in the evenings when the pain is pronounced. The question stands about George, is his marijuana smoking wrong? Is there a moral conundrum? Are our views about marijuana so demonized that a person who legitimately feels better still feels like the villain himself? Please serious answers only and remember to include your age, gender, and state you live in. Thank you all so much.
I think I may be pregnant...Or have the stomach flu? Ok, so about 2 weeks ago my fiance and I had sex and we used protection, however it was only a condom. From what I can tell, it didn't break, but I guess there's always that chance? (For what it's worth, it was a little tight when he put it on, and the stupid thing didn't want to unroll so he could put it on. - hopefully you understand what I mean) Well, at my college, a friend or two of mine have gotten the stomach flu and I didn't know if I may have just been lucky enough to get it also, or if I could be expecting a child in 9 months. I know, pregnancy test is the only sure way of knowing. But I'm just curious here. In the course of about the past week - I experienced a really bad hot flash and got very out of breath and had to sit down for a few minutes to get control of myself again, I have had pains in my stomach (all over the place - center, and sides, and even some pain in my back), I get super hungry then can hardly eat anything. What I do eat, makes me extremely nauseous. I've been getting dizzy, and gassy, and I've been getting many headaches. I feel as if I could sleep forever and it have no effect on me. All around, I've been weaker and groggier. (I think I've been going to the bathroom more also, but that may just be me over-thinking things) What do you think? Also, I've had heartburn from HELL. It's been incredibly bad lately. I used to struggle with Acid Reflux when I was younger (11 or 12) and hasn't really effected me at all since then. I'm 19 years old now.
Stomach ulcers in children? Alright. I've been having a lot of stomach pain lately--well, it's been happening since January of this year. I would have a stomachache every single day. Some days, it'd be small, others, it'd be unbearable. We went to my doctor about this yesterday. She scheduled for me to take a blood test yesterday, because she thought I was anemic. A couple minutes ago, she called back and told me that I was not anemic, but I have a stomach ulcer. I am getting treated for this (she scheduled another appointment for me to go to the Children's Hospital), but I really do want to know more about it. She didn't say what type of stomach ulcer I have, which really broadens the information I want. What I want to ask is, what affect do stomach ulcers have on children? I'm eleven years and four months old, if that helps any. Thank you in advance.
Is all over body pain normal in early pregnancy? I'm 6 weeks pregnant with my 4th child and having pain all over my body. Does anyone know what could be going on? I know that every pregnancy is different, but this is really strange especially this early in the pregnancy. I expect it in the third trimester, but now? Has anyone had this happen? I feel like when you have a bruise, but in my case no bruise and its all over my body arms, legs, stomach, everywhere. It hurts to even get dressed.
bad stomach pain, diahreah and not eating, diabetic child? My daughter is 8 and a half yrs old, diagnosed type 1 diabetic last year. This is the first time she's been sick so i am kind of a bit panicking...Since friday she has been having tummy pain, blood sugars are all over the place! I brought her to the hosptial yesterday, on advice from my gp, they did not do any bloods, or tests on her just said to make sure she's drinking enough, that she was a little dehydrated but nothing major, and as long as she had no vomiting and diahreah she didn't need to be admitted. They at first thought it was appenidicitus but ruled that out, due to no pain when they pressed in on her lower stomach. Well she's been having really bad diahreah since this morning, she only had it twice so far but its foul smelling. She's been crying before and after diahreah with pains in her tummy. Her blood sugar when she woke was 14mmoh/L, she only ate half her bowl of cereal, She took her insulin as always, then at 11.20am her blood sugar was 18.5mmoh/L. There is no gp at our practice until this evening at 7pm. So i have to wait till then to take her back to him. She has no ketones, but the doctors yesterday explained they can come on very suddenly, especially if there is vomiting diahreah. Any advice from you guys. Should i take her back to the hospital before i can see the gp, especially with the diahreah she's been having? Or should i just keep an eye on her and encourage more water, as she has very little drank since this morning, maybe only a glass and a half....She is unable to eat she has no appetitie.
Baby Name Game, sea version. What would you name your children? This is a baby name game, but with the theme of the ocean. Just fill out the ________ _________ with first names, and middle names! In this game, you are blessed (like the sea blesses you) with babies, until you a married. Yes, I'm weird... You are alone, you have been abandoned by your crew. You had to walk the plank. You feel a pain in your stomach, and soon realize, you are turning into a mermaid. (He-he...) A month later, you are blessed with a baby boy. You name him __________ ___________ after the god of the sea. (It can be Greek Roman, etc.) Two years later, you and your boy come across a dark tunnel. You find a small home there, under some rocks. It's scary and gloomy here, and you wish you didn't stay here, but it's too dangerous to go at this time of year. 6 months later, and you are blessed with a child. It's a baby girl. You name a name meaning dark, __________ __________ because of the place you are living in. Three years later, you find a merman. You both fall in love, and are due to get married a year. 3 months later, you get pregnant, your husbands first son! When he is born, you name him __________ ___________ after your husband, and his second name meaning strong/brave. 7 months after that, you are due to have another child. You have recently become close to two friends one male, one femal, who are very kind, and special. Your pregnancy feels stranger than the others, and in the sea, there are no doctors to help you with these things. You give birth to twins, a boy and a girl. You name them ____________ ____________ and _______________ _____________ after your two friends, and their second names meaning kind/friendly. 4 years have passed and you have started up a bakery. You've got a sweet tooth that can't be help and you've finally moved out of that dark rocky place, to live somewhere more sunny and bright. You get pregnant, and have cravings for sweets and cakes. When you give birth, you give birth to a girl, and name her ___________ ___________ after your two favourite cakes/sweets, that have a name in it. 2 and half years have passed, and your very close friend, the girl, commited suiced, due to depression. The man who is in charge of her will comes to your house, to discuss what happens. Your friend had a baby boy very shortly before she died, and did not name him. She decided to leave the child to you, and you take care of him. You name him ________ ________, a name meaning sad/sorrow. 5 years later, and you and your husband decide to have your last child. As you give birth, you give birth to triplets! 2 girls, and 1 boy. You name the boy __________ __________ meaning leader/brave, the first girl _________ ________ meaning beautiful, and _________ __________ meaning funny. 20 years later, and your eldest child has a child, your first grandchild, a girl. They knew you wanted to name her, and you have your chance at naming the last child. You name her ________ ________ after a colour. 30 years later, and in retirement you buy a cat. You name him __________ after your favourite cookie!
Drank alcohol had an attack in my upper stomach? I had one cherry lime margarita lastnight a roll and a few potatoe skins at a restaurant with my husband. About 5 mins into the appetizer i got this horrible pain in my upper stomach that got worse and worse I had to walk out of the restaurant lay down in my car and the pain was so bad i was crying! I have had 2 children and this was way worse.. It lasted about 15 mins now since lastnight i have a pain in my stomach not as bad and I keep burping! I have barely ate today because i feel full and keep burping! What could this be an allergic reaction to the drink or something? I plan on going to the dr tomorrow even though they are pill pushers!

Bad stomach pain and very swollen stomach? My stomach has been very swollen for the past 2 weeks now. Last night it started to really hurt. I was heaving and had hot flushes and felt like I was going to pass out. My period is 2 weeks late, I have sore breasts and feel like crap. I don't think I am pregnant as I have been told by doctors I can not have children. I hope the pain would go away in the night and it did get a little better but it is back bad again now. I have tried many different pain killers and nothing seems to touch it. I would go to the hospital but my local one is not very good and all they ever do is give you paracetamol and don't run any proper tests. They also have no beds at all at the moment Has anyone else experience these symptoms? Normally I have a very flat stomach but at the moment I am as big as my sister who is 5 months pregnant. It can't be anything to do with my appendiz as I had it removed 4 years ago. Any help would be great Can I please only have answers from people with experience/knowledge of these symptoms

I was kicked in the stomach at work and now I have cramps? I'm not pregnant. My adrenaline was up at the time, I was making sure children were not harmed and when I was kicked I didn't it. (My legs were also kicked, which didn't hurt either but now there are bruises). About three hours later I started to get cramps and now it hurts. I haven't been able to keep food down. I didn't go to the doctor after it happened because it didn't hurt. Could something have happened inside even though I didn't feel any immediate pain or could it be delayed nerves from the earlier event?
Stomach pain- 7 months pregnant? Question for those that have had children. I'm debating on going to the ER tonight, but thinking I may be overreacting. All day I've been a bit dizzy with lots of stomach pain. I made dinner when I got home then laid down to relax on the couch with the heating pad, I have been getting REALLY sharp stabbing pains in my upper stomach, and the baby is kicking in the lower area so I don't think its him causing my pain. I just went to stand up and get a pillow and literally screamed and had to walk crouched over to my bedroom its so painful. Its not like the ligament stretching I usually feel in my lower stomach. I've read some stuff online but can't find anything that sounds like what I'm experiencing. Wanted some input before driving to the ER. Oh, this super sharp pain has only been happening for the past 4 hours or so, but doesn't seem to ease when I'm laying down trying to relax like it normally does. Dr said I overexerted myself and my very active little boy bruised some of my ribs so thats what caused the pain :/
can dehydration cause stomach pains in children ? my 3 year old daughter has been complaining constant tummy pains even waking in night with them she is still eating and drinking and i am concerned to what may be causing it more than normal (7-15 cups of juice every day) i took her to the doc who said he can find nothing wrong from urine test apart from her being dehydrated can anyone tell me how she can be dehydrated with drinking so much and cud this be causing the tummy pains hse keeps getting as the doc said she wud be fine and sent her home without giving me any answers to why she may be getting the pains she takes a daily muti vitamin for children she goes to the toilet for poos with no problems and is going to the toilet alot more frequent than is normal for her and is continuously thirty and hungry no matter how much she has when i say more frequent i mean weeing more frequent and pooing normal for her with no problems
stomach pains, chest pains helpp!!? first off, dont tell me to see a doctor. bc trust me, im going to soon. its just doctors can be stupid sometimes especially when u live in a small town in canada. i just wanted to see if people could help me out. so i dont know for how long, but ive been experiencing chest pains. i looked them up adn found this : " Precordial Catch Syndrome (PCS) is the most common cause of recurring chest pain. It is also sometimes known as “a stitch in the side” or “Texidor’s twinge”. It occurs most often in children and teenagers, but does persist into adulthood as well. The pain occurs just under the left nipple, near where you feel the heart beat most strongly on the front of the chest, and comes on very suddenly." there are more about it and everything sounds exactly alike. the pain feels liket that. its hard to breathe in deeply when the pain occurs and its very sudden. i dont think i feel a popping like it say, but the pain subsides quickly and it doesnt extend like a heart attack would. i should tell u, im a 16 year old active female with no heart problems in the family so i doubt its that. anyway does anyone know of anything elese like this syndrome? also, idk if its connected but i have bad stomach problems. bad digestive runs in my dads family so it could be that. after eating breakfast or supper (lunch is usually fine) i will get nauseous. i feel full very quickly and do not eat alot anymore. about an hour or so after eating, i get very sharp pains through out my lower stomach which literally make me knee over in pain. i have stopped eating breakfast when i have school because i cannot handle this pain in class. i know that is very bad, i just cant do it. the thing is, these pains are not frequent, reoccurring. they happen randomly but always after supper. i dont know when the pain will come but i usually get it. if i dont get the pain, i am always bloated and have very gross smelling gas. i need to have bowel movements up to three times a day sometimes because i feel sick to my stomach and feel the need to do it. even f i dont get the sharp pains, 90 percent of the time i feel bloated adn or nauseous. does anyone have any idea what so ever\!?!?!? ask me more questions about my symptoms if needed. also, i am frequently tired and without energy, no matter the hours of sleep i have. it has happened many times tho, for a while now, sleep helps but only until the next meal or when my chest decides to hurt!

Stomach tumors in children? My nephew is going in today to get a small tumor removed from his stomach. I'm going to be partly responsible for his care when he returns as I will be caring for him when his grams (guardian) is at work. I'm sure she'll give me the instructions and everything but I have no idea how intensive this is going to be for him. He is 9 years old and otherwise quite healthy. They don't know if it's benign or not yet the biopsy results will come later, but they think it is. Has anyone had experience with this? Is it similar to appendectomy? I have experience with that but not in a child. How much pain is he going to be in? Is he going to be pretty much bed bound for a while? Please only answer if you have experience not just guessing.

Stomach tattoo pain give me an estimate? I have a forearm and back tattoo (both are small) that didn't hurt. The thing is they aren't artwork pieces, they are both words. I want a tiny artwork piece on my stomach and I don't know if it'd hurt. Btw I'm not going to have children ever in my life (I'm 20 and I've made a decision to adopt) so I don't need to worry about my stomach stretching.
